< 1 Samuel 19 >

1 And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
Saaʼol ilma isaa Yoonaataanii fi tajaajiltoota hunda akka isaan Daawitin ajjeesan ajaje. Yoonaataan garuu akka malee Daawitin jaallata ture;
2 But Jonathan Saul’s son delighted much in David: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:
akkana jedhees isa akeekkachiise; “Saaʼol abbaan koo karaa ittiin si ajjeesu barbaadachaa jira. Bori ganama of eeggadhu; dhokadhuutii achuma turi.
3 And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will talk with my father of thee; and what I see, that I will tell thee.
Anis gad baʼee abbaa koo wajjin dirree ati jirtu irra nan dhaabadha. Waaʼee kees isa wajjin haasaʼee waan inni jedhe sitti hima.”
4 And Jonathan spoke good of David to Saul his father, and said to him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been toward thee very good:
Yoonaataanis akkana jedhee abbaa isaa Saaʼolitti waaʼee Daawit waan gaarii dubbate; “Mootichi tajaajilaa isaa Daawititti yakka hin hojjetin; inni homaa si hin goone; wanni inni hojjetes faayidaa guddaa siif argamsiiseera.
5 For he put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: why then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?
Daawit lubbuu ofii isaatiif yaaduu dhiisee Filisxeemicha ajjeese. Waaqayyos Israaʼel hundaaf moʼannaa guddaa kenne; atis waan kana argitee gammaddeerta. Yoos ati maaliif sababii malee isa ajjeesuudhaan nama yakka hin qabne kan akka Daawititti yakka hojjetta ree?”
6 And Saul hearkened to the voice of Jonathan: and Saul swore, As the LORD liveth, he shall not be slain.
Saaʼolis Yoonaataanin dhaggeeffatee, “Dhugaa Waaqayyo jiraataa, Daawit hin ajjeefamu” jedhee kakate.
7 And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as in times past.
Kanaafuu Yoonaataan Daawitin waamee waan kana hunda itti hime. Saaʼolittis isa fide; Daawitis akkuma duriitti Saaʼol dura dhaabate.
8 And there was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled from him.
Ammas lolli ni kaʼe; Daawitis dhaqee Filisxeemota lole. Innis humna guddaan isaan dhaʼe; isaanis isa duraa baqatan.
9 And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand.
Garuu utuu Saaʼol eeboo harkatti qabatee mana isaa taaʼuu hafuuri hamaan Waaqayyo biraa isatti dhufe. Utuu Daawit baganaa taphachaa jiruu,
10 And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away from Saul’s presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.
Saaʼol eeboodhaan Daawitin keenyanitti hodhuu yaale; Daawit garuu duraa miliqe; Saaʼolis eeboo sana keenyanitti fixe. Daawitis halkan sana baqatee jalaa baʼe.
11 Saul also sent messengers to David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David’s wife told him, saying, If thou dost not save thy life to night, to morrow thou shalt be slain.
Saaʼol akka isaan eeganii ganamaan isa ajjeesaniif mana Daawititti namoota erge. Miikaal niitiin Daawit garuu, “Ati yoo halkan kana baqachuu baatte bori ni ajjeefamta” jettee akeekkachiifte.
12 So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
Kanaafuu Miikaal foddaa keessaan Daawitin gad buufte; innis baqatee miliqe.
13 And Michal took an image, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair for his head, and covered it with a cloth.
Ergasii Miikaal fakkii Waaqa tolfamaa tokko fuutee wayyaa itti uffiftee siree irra ciibsite; boraatii rifeensa reʼees mataa jala keesseef.
14 And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.
Yeroo Saaʼol Daawitin qabsiisuuf namoota ergetti Miikaal, “Inni dhukkubsateera” jette.
15 And Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him to me in the bed, that I may slay him.
Saaʼol akka isaan Daawitin ilaalaniif deebisee namoota ergee, “Akka ani isa ajjeesuuf siree isaatiin naa fidaa” isaaniin jedhe.
16 And when the messengers had come in, behold, there was an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats’ hair for his head.
Yeroo namoonni sun ol seenanitti fakkiin Waaqa tolfamaa sun siree irra ciibsamee, rifeensi reʼees mataa jala kaaʼameefii argame.
17 And Saul said to Michal, Why hast thou deceived me so, and sent away my enemy, that he hast escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said to me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?
Saaʼolis Miikaaliin, “Ati maaliif akka diinni koo miliquuf akkas na gowwoomsite?” jedhe. Miikaalis, “Isatu, ‘Jalaa na miliqsi; yoo kanaa achii ani sin ajjeesaa’ naan jedhe” jetteen.
18 So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.
Daawitis yeroo baqatee miliqetti Saamuʼeel bira Raamaa dhaqee waan Saaʼol isa godhe hunda itti hime. Ergasiis innii fi Saamuʼeel gara Naayot dhaqanii achuma turan.
19 And it was told to Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.
Saaʼolittis, “Kunoo Daawit Naayot ishee Raamaa keessatti argamtu keessa jira” jedhanii himan.
20 And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
Kanaafuu inni akka isa qabaniif namoota itti erge. Isaan garuu yeroo garee raajota raajii dubbatanii kan Saamuʼeel hoogganaa isaanii taʼee achi dhaabachaa ture tokko arganitti Hafuurri Waaqaa namoota Saaʼol irra buʼee isaanis akkasuma raajii dubbatan.
21 And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.
Saaʼol yommuu waan kana dhagaʼetti namoota biraa erge; isaanis akkasuma raajii dubbatan. Saaʼol ammas yeroo sadaffaaf namoota erge; isaanis akkasuma raajii dubbatan.
22 Then he went also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah.
Dhuma irratti inni ofuma isaatii kaʼee Raamaa dhaqe; boolla bishaanii guddaa Seekuutti argamu bira gaʼee, “Saamuʼeelii fi Daawit eessa jiru?” jedhee gaafate. Namni tokkos, “Isaan Naayot ishee Raamaa keessa jirtu keessa jiru” jedheen.
23 And he went there to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
Kanaafuu Saaʼol gara Naayot ishee Raamaa keessa jirtu sanaa dhaqe. Garuu Hafuurri Waaqaa isaa irra buʼe; innis hamma Nawaat gaʼutti raajii dubbachaa deeme.
24 And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?
Wayyaa isaas of irraa baasee fuula Saamuʼeel duratti raajii dubbate. Innis halkanii fi guyyaa sana guutuu qullaa isaa ciise. Sababiin namoonni, “Saaʼolis raajota keessaa tokkoodhaa?” jedhaniif kanuma.
