< 1 Peter 2 >
1 Therefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
Hiza, iitatethi ubbaa, cimo ubbaa, cubbotethi qanaatenne zigirssi ubbaa hinttefe diggite.
2 As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that ye may grow by it:
Goday keeha gideyssa hintte eridi meezetidayssada ha77i yelettida guutha naytada hintte atotethan diccishe baanaw Xoossaa geeshsha qaala maathaa ubba wode amottite.
3 If indeed ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
4 To whom coming, as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, and precious,
Asan borettidi Xoossan doorettida al77o gidida de7o shuchchaa, Godaa Yesuusakko shiiqite.
5 Ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Hintte Ayyaana keethi keexettiya de7o shuchchata. Hintte Yesuus Kiristtoosa baggara Xoossaa ufayssiya ayyaana yarshsho yarshshiya geeshsha kahineta.
6 Therefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
Geeshsha Maxaafan, “Hekko, taani Xiyoone kataman godaa xaphuwa minthiya, doorettida, al77o shuchchaa wothas; iyan ammaniyaa oonikka yeellatenna” yaagees.
7 To you therefore who believe he is precious: but to them who are disobedient, the stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head of the corner,
Ha shuchchay hinttew ammaneyssatas al77o, shin ammanonnayssatas, “Gimbbeyssati kadhidi ixxida shuchchay godaa xaphuwa minthiya, ubbaafe aadhdhiya shuchchu gidis.”
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them who stumble at the word, being disobedient: to this also they were appointed.
Qassika, “Ha shuchchay asa dhubbiya shuchchaanne asa kunddisiya zaalla” yaagees. Entti hessas qaadettida gisho Xoossaa qaalaa kiitettonna ixxidi dhubettidosona.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a special people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Shin Xoossay dhumappe malaalisiya ba poo7uwakko hinttena xeegiday, hintte iya lo77otethaa haratas odanaw doorettida zare, kawo kahine, geeshsha derenne Xoossaa dumma dere.
10 Who in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Hintte kase Xoossaa dere gidekketa, shin ha77i hintte iya dere. Hintte kase maarotetha demmibeekketa, shin ha77i maarotetha demmideta.
11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
Ta ishato, hintte ha sa7an imathenne betanchcho gididayssada hintte shemppuwa oliya asho amoppe haakkana mela taani hinttena woossays.
12 Having your behaviour honest among the Gentiles: that, though they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
Ammanonna asay hinttena iita oothiya asada zigiryaa wode Xoossay nuna be7anaw yaa gallas, entti hintte lo77o oosuwa be7idi Xoossaa galatana mela hinttew lo77o de7oy de7o.
13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether to the king, as supreme;
Godaa gisho gidi maatara de7iya asatas haarettite; ubbaafe bolla gidiya gisho kawuwaskka haarettite.
14 Or to governors, as to them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
Entti iita ootheyssata seeranawunne lo77o ootheyssata sabbanw kawuwappe kiitettida gisho deriya ayseyssatas haarettite.
15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
Hinttee, hintte lo77o oosuwan eronna eeya asaa doona oythanayssi Xoossaa shene.
16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
Xoossaa aylle gididi la77atethan de7iteppe attin hintte la77atethaa iita oosos kama oothofite.
17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
Asa ubbaa bonchchite; ammaniyaa asaa siiqite; Xoossaa yayyite; kawo bonchchite.
18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the perverse.
Aylletoo lo77o godatasinne keeha godata xalaalas gidonnashin, iitaataskka bonchchon haarettite.
19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endureth grief, suffering wrongfully.
Asi Xoossaa gisho gidi bessonna waaye waayettiko Xoossay iya anjjana.
20 For what glory is it, if, when ye are buffeted for your faults, ye bear it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye bear it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
Shin hintte nagara oothin hinttena dechchiya wode hintte dandda7ikko hinttew ay galati de7ii? Shin lo77obaa oothidi waaye dandda7ikko Xoossay hinttena hessas anjjana.
21 For even to this were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
Xoossay hinttena xeegiday hessa gishossa; Kiristtoosi hinttew waayettis; hintte iya kaallana mela, hinttew leemiso gidis.
22 Who committed no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
I nagara oothibeenna; iya doonankka worddoy benttibeenna.
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
Entti iya cayaa wode, zaaridi cayibeenna. Shin waaye ekkishe xillo pirddiya Xoossaas ba pirdda aggaagisppe attin manddibeenna.
24 Who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Nuuni nagaras hayqqidi xillotethas daana mela Kiristtoosi ba ashuwan nu nagaraa masqaliya bolla tookkis; hintte iya madunthan paxideta.
25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned to the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Kase hintte oge balidi dhayida dorssa mela, shin ha77i hintte shemppuwa heemmeyssakkonne naageyssakko simmideta.
