1 Corinthians 6
1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
¿Se atreve alguno de vosotros, teniendo un asunto contra su prójimo, a acudir a la justicia ante los injustos, y no ante los santos?
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
¿No sabéis que los santos juzgarán al mundo? Y si el mundo es juzgado por vosotros, ¿sois indignos de juzgar los asuntos más pequeños?
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
¿No sabéis que nosotros juzgaremos a los ángeles? ¿Cuánto más las cosas que pertenecen a esta vida?
4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
Si, pues, tenéis que juzgar las cosas que pertenecen a esta vida, ¿los ponéis a juzgar a los que no tienen importancia en la asamblea?
5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
Digo esto para avergonzaros. ¿No hay entre vosotros ni siquiera un sabio que pueda decidir entre sus hermanos?
6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before unbelievers.
¡Pero el hermano va a juicio con el hermano, y eso ante los incrédulos!
7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather allow yourselves to be defrauded?
Por lo tanto, ya es un defecto en vosotros que tengáis pleitos unos con otros. ¿Por qué no ser más bien agraviados? ¿Por qué no ser más bien defraudados?
8 But, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
No, sino que vosotros mismos hacéis mal y defraudáis, y eso contra vuestros hermanos.
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
¿O es que no sabéis que los injustos no heredarán el Reino de Dios? No os engañéis. Ni los inmorales, ni los idólatras, ni los adúlteros, ni las prostitutas, ni los homosexuales,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
ni los ladrones, ni los avaros, ni los borrachos, ni los calumniadores, ni los extorsionistas, heredarán el Reino de Dios.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Algunos de ustedes eran así, pero fueron lavados. Fuisteis santificados. Fuisteis justificados en el nombre del Señor Jesús y en el Espíritu de nuestro Dios.
12 All things are lawful to me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
“Todo me es lícito”, pero no todo es conveniente. “Todas las cosas me son lícitas”, pero no me someteré al poder de nada.
13 Food is for the stomach, and the stomach is for food: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
“Alimentos para el vientre, y el vientre para los alimentos”, pero Dios hará desaparecer tanto a él como a ellos. Pero el cuerpo no es para la inmoralidad sexual, sino para el Señor, y el Señor para el cuerpo.
14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
Ahora bien, Dios resucitó al Señor, y también nos resucitará a nosotros con su poder.
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? By no means.
¿No sabéis que vuestros cuerpos son miembros de Cristo? ¿Acaso voy a tomar los miembros de Cristo para hacerlos miembros de una prostituta? ¡Que nunca sea así!
16 What? know ye not that he who is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
¿Acaso no sabéis que el que se une a una prostituta es un solo cuerpo? Porque, “Los dos”, dice, “se convertirán en una sola carne”.
17 But he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit.
Pero el que se une al Señor es un solo espíritu.
18 Flee immorality. Every sin that a man doeth is outside the body; but he that committeth immorality sinneth against his own body.
¡Huye de la inmoralidad sexual! “Todo pecado que el hombre hace está fuera del cuerpo”, pero el que comete inmoralidad sexual peca contra su propio cuerpo.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, which ye have from God, and ye are not your own?
¿O no sabéis que vuestro cuerpo es templo del Espíritu Santo que está en vosotros, el cual tenéis de Dios? No sois vuestros,
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
porque habéis sido comprados por un precio. Por tanto, glorificad a Dios en vuestro cuerpo y en vuestro espíritu, que son de Dios.
