Zechariah 1
1 In the eighth month of the second year of Darius' reign, the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah son of Berechiah son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,
En el mes octavo, en el año segundo de Darío, fue palabra de Jehová a Zacarías profeta, hijo de Baraquías, hijo de Addo, diciendo:
2 “Yahweh was exceedingly angry with your fathers!
Airóse Jehová con ira contra vuestros padres.
3 Say to them, 'Yahweh of hosts says this: Turn to me!—this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts— and I will return to you, says Yahweh of hosts.
Decirles has pues: Así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos: Volvéos a mí, dijo Jehová de los ejércitos, y yo me volveré a vosotros, dijo Jehová de los ejércitos.
4 Do not be like your fathers to whom the prophets cried out previously, saying, “Yahweh of hosts says this: Turn from your evil ways and wicked practices!” But they would not hear and did not pay attention to me—this is Yahweh's declaration.'
No seáis como vuestros padres, a los cuales dieron voces aquellos profetas primeros, diciendo: Así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos: Volvéos ahora de vuestros malos caminos, y de vuestras malas obras; y nunca oyeron, ni me escucharon, dijo Jehová.
5 Your fathers, where are they? Where are the prophets, are they here forever?
¿Vuestros padres, dónde están? ¿y los profetas, han de vivir para siempre?
6 But my words and my decrees that I commanded my servants the prophets, have they not overtaken your fathers? So they repented and said, 'Just as Yahweh of hosts planned to do to us what our ways and actions deserved, so he has dealt with us.'”
Con todo esto, mis palabras, y mis ordenanzas que mandé a mis siervos los profetas, ¿no comprendieron a vuestros padres? los cuales se volvieron, y dijeron: Como Jehová de los ejércitos pensó tratarnos conforme a nuestros caminos, y conforme a nuestras obras, así lo hizo con nosotros.
7 On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month of Shebat, in the second year of Darius' reign, the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah son of Berechiah son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,
A los veinte y cuatro del mes onceno, que es el mes de Sebat, en el año segundo de Darío, fue palabra de Jehová a Zacarías profeta, hijo de Baraquías, hijo de Addo, diciendo:
8 “I saw in the night, and, look! a man was riding on a red horse, and he was among the myrtle trees that are in the valley; and behind him there were red, reddish-brown, and white horses.”
Ví una noche, y he aquí un varón que cabalgaba sobre un caballo bermejo, el cual estaba entre los arrayanes que están en la hondura; y detrás de él estaban caballos bermejos, overos, y blancos.
9 I said, “What are these things, Lord?” Then the angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what these things are.”
Y yo dije: ¿Quién son estos, Señor mío? y díjome el ángel que hablaba conmigo: Yo te enseñaré quién son estos.
10 Then the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, “These are those Yahweh has sent out to roam throughout the earth.”
Y aquel varón que estaba entre los arrayanes respondió, y dijo: Estos son los que Jehová ha enviado, para que anden la tierra.
11 They answered the angel of Yahweh who stood among the myrtle trees; they said to him, “We have been roaming throughout the earth; see, all the earth sits still and is at rest.”
Y ellos hablaron a aquel ángel de Jehová, que estaba entre los arrayanes, y dijeron: Hemos andado la tierra, y he aquí que toda la tierra está reposada y quieta.
12 Then the angel of Yahweh answered and said, “Yahweh of hosts, how long will you show no compassion to Jerusalem and to the cities of Judah, which you have been angry with these seventy years?”
Y respondió el ángel de Jehová, y dijo: O! Jehová de los ejércitos, ¿hasta cuándo no habrás piedad de Jerusalem, y de las ciudades de Judá, con las cuales has estado airado ya ha setenta años?
13 Yahweh answered the angel who had talked with me, with good words, words of comfort.
Y Jehová respondió buenas palabras, palabras consolatorias a aquel ángel que hablaba conmigo.
14 So the angel who had talked with me said to me, “Call out and say, 'Yahweh of hosts says this: I have been jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great passion!
Y díjome el ángel que hablaba conmigo: Clama, diciendo: Así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos: Zelé a Jerusalem, y a Sión con gran zelo;
15 I am very angry with the nations that are at ease. When I was only a little angry with them, they made the disaster worse.
Y con grande enojo estoy airado contra las gentes que están reposadas; porque yo estaba enojado un poco, y ellos ayudaron para el mal.
16 Therefore Yahweh of hosts says this: I have returned to Jerusalem with mercies. My house will be built within her —this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts—and the measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem!'
Por tanto así dijo Jehová: Yo me he tornado a Jerusalem con miseraciones: mi casa será edificada en ella, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, y cordel de albañil será tendido sobre Jerusalem.
17 Again call out, saying, 'Yahweh of hosts says this: My cities will once again overflow with goodness, and Yahweh will again comfort Zion, and he will once again choose Jerusalem.'”
Clama aun, diciendo: Así dice Jehová de los ejércitos: Aun serán mis ciudades esparcidas por la abundancia del bien; y aun consolará Jehová a Sión, y escogerá aun a Jerusalem.
18 Then I lifted up my eyes and saw four horns!
Y alcé mis ojos, y miré, y he aquí cuatro cuernos.
19 I spoke to the angel who talked with me, “What are these?” He answered me, “These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”
Y dije al ángel que hablaba conmigo: ¿Qué son estos? y respondióme: Estos son los cuernos que aventaron a Judá, a Israel, y a Jerusalem.
20 Then Yahweh showed me four craftsmen.
Y mostróme Jehová cuatro carpinteros.
21 I said, “What are these people coming to do?” He answered, and said, “These are the horns that scattered Judah so that no man would lift up his head. But the blacksmiths have come to terrify them, to cast down the horns of the nations that lifted up a horn against the land of Judah to scatter her.”
Y yo dije: ¿Qué vienen estos a hacer? Y respondióme, diciendo: Estos son los cuernos que aventaron a Judá, tanto que ninguno alzó su cabeza; y estos han venido para hacerlos temblar, y para derribar los cuernos de las gentes, que alzaron el cuerno sobre la tierra de Judá para aventarla.
