< Romans 6 >

1 What then will we say? Should we continue in sin so that grace may abound?
Ǹjẹ́ àwa ó ha ti wí? Ṣé kí àwa ó jókòó nínú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, kí oore-ọ̀fẹ́ ba à lè máa pọ̀ sí i?
2 May it never be. We who died to sin, how can we still live in it?
Kí a má ri! Àwa ẹni tí ó ti kú sí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, àwa ó ha ṣe wà láààyè nínú rẹ̀ mọ́?
3 Do you not know that as many as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
Tàbí ẹyin kò mọ pé gbogbo wa ti a ti bamitiisi wa sínú Jesu Kristi ni a ti bamitiisi sínú ikú rẹ.
4 We were buried, then, with him through baptism into death. This happened in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so also we might walk in newness of life.
Nítorí náà, a sin wa pẹ̀lú Kristi nípa ìtẹ̀bọmi si ikú, kí ó bá le jẹ́ pe bí a ti jí Kristi dìde pẹ̀lú ògo Baba, àwa pẹ̀lú gbé ìgbé ayé tuntun.
5 For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be united with his resurrection.
Nítorí pé ẹ̀yin ti di ọ̀kan ṣoṣo pẹ̀lú rẹ̀, àti pé ẹ kú pẹ̀lú rẹ̀, nígbà tí òun kú. Nísinsin yìí, ẹ ń pín ìyè tuntun rẹ̀, ẹ̀yin yóò sì jí dìde gẹ́gẹ́ bí òun náà ti jí dìde.
6 We know this, that our old man was crucified with him, in order that the body of sin might be destroyed. This happened so that we should no longer be enslaved to sin.
Gbogbo èrò búburú ọkàn yín ni a kàn mọ́ àgbélébùú pẹ̀lú rẹ̀. Ẹ̀mí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ tí ó sì ń fẹ́ láti máa dẹ́ṣẹ̀ nínú yín ni a ti sọ di aláìlera. Nítorí náà, ara yín tí ó ń fẹ́ láti máa dẹ́ṣẹ̀ kò sí lábẹ́ àkóso ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ mọ́, kò sì ní láti jẹ́ ẹrú fún ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ mọ́.
7 He who has died is declared righteous with respect to sin.
Nítorí pé nígbà tí ẹ ti di òkú fún ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, a ti gbà yín sílẹ̀ kúrò lọ́wọ́ gbogbo agbára ẹ̀ṣẹ̀. Ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ kò ní agbára lórí yín mọ́.
8 But if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live together with him.
Nísinsin yìí, bí àwa bá kú pẹ̀lú Kristi àwa gbàgbọ́ pé àwa yóò wà láààyè pẹ̀lú rẹ̀.
9 We know that since Christ has been raised from the dead he cannot die again; death no longer has authority over him.
Nítorí àwa mọ̀ pé Kristi ti jí dìde kúrò nínú òkú. Òun kò sì ní kú mọ́. Ikú kò sì lè ní agbára lórí rẹ̀ mọ́.
10 For in regard to the death that he died to sin, he died once for all. However, the life that he lives, he lives for God.
Kristi kú lẹ́ẹ̀kan ṣoṣo, láti ṣẹ́gun agbára ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí, ó wà láààyè títí ayé àìnípẹ̀kun ní ìdàpọ̀ mímọ́ pẹ̀lú Ọlọ́run.
11 In the same way, you also must consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Nítorí náà, ẹ ka ara yín bí òkú sí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n bí alààyè sí Ọlọ́run nínú Kristi Jesu.
12 Therefore do not let sin rule in your mortal body in order that you may obey its lusts.
Nítorí náà kí ẹ má ṣe jẹ́ kí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ jẹ ọba lórí ara kíkú yín kí ó lè ba à máa ṣe ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́ rẹ̀.
13 Do not present the parts of your body to sin, to be tools used for unrighteousness. But present yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life, and present the parts of your body to God as tools to be used for righteousness.
Ẹ má ṣe jẹ́ kí ẹ̀yà ara yín kan di ohun èlò ohun búburú, nípa ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ dídá. Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ fi wọn fún Ọlọ́run pátápátá. Wọ́n ti di ààyè, ẹ jẹ́ kí wọn di ohun èlò ní ọwọ́ Ọlọ́run, kí ó lè lò wọ́n fún àwọn ìlànà rẹ̀ tí ó dára.
14 Do not allow sin to rule over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.
Nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ kì yóò tún ní ipá lórí yín mọ́, nítorí ẹ̀yin kò sí lábẹ́ ìdè òfin, bí kò ṣe lábẹ́ oore-ọ̀fẹ́.
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? May it never be.
Ǹjẹ́ èyí túmọ̀ sí pé, nísinsin yìí, a lè tẹ̀síwájú láti máa dẹ́ṣẹ̀ láìbìkítà, nítorí ìgbàlà wa kò dúró nípa òfin mọ́, bí kò ṣe nípa gbígba oore-ọ̀fẹ́ Ọlọ́run!
16 Do you not know that the one to whom you present yourselves as slaves is the one to which you are obedient, the one you must obey? This is true whether you are slaves to sin which leads to death, or slaves to obedience which leads to righteousness.
Àbí ẹ̀yin kò mọ̀ pé, ẹnikẹ́ni lè yan ọ̀gá tí ó bá fẹ́? Ẹ lè yan ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ ti o yọrí si ikú tàbí ìgbọ́ràn ti o yọrí sí ìdáláre. Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ẹ bá fi ara yín fún, òun náà ni yóò jẹ́ ọ̀gá yín, ẹ̀yin yóò sì jẹ́ ẹrú rẹ̀.
17 But thanks be to God! For you were slaves of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart the pattern of teaching that you were given.
Ṣùgbọ́n ọpẹ́ ni fún Ọlọ́run pé, bí ẹ̀yin ti jẹ́ ẹrú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rí, ẹ̀yin jẹ́ olùgbọ́ran láti ọkàn wá sí àpẹẹrẹ ẹ̀kọ́ èyí tí Ọlọ́run fi lé yín lọ́wọ́.
18 You have been made free from sin, and you have been made slaves of righteousness.
Nísinsin yìí, ẹ ti dòmìnira kúrò lọ́wọ́ ọ̀gá yín àtijọ́, èyí tí í ṣe ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, ẹ sì ti di ẹrú ọ̀gá tuntun èyí ni òdodo.
19 I speak like a man because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented the parts of your body as slaves to uncleanness and to evil, in the same way now, present the parts of your body as slaves to righteousness for sanctification.
Èmi ń sọ̀rọ̀ bí ènìyàn nítorí àìlera yín. Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ̀yín ti jọ̀wọ́ àwọn ẹ̀yà ara yín lọ́wọ́ bí ẹrú fún ìwà èérí àti ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ dé inú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ ni kí ẹ̀yin kí ó jọ̀wọ́ àwọn ẹ̀yà ara yín lọ́wọ́ nísinsin yìí bí ẹrú fún òdodo sí ìwà mímọ́.
20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free from righteousness.
Nígbà tí ẹ̀yin jẹ́ ẹrú ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, ẹ̀yin wà ní òmìnira sí òdodo.
21 At that time, what fruit then did you have of the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death.
Àti pé, kín ni ìyọrísí rẹ̀? Dájúdájú àbájáde rẹ̀ kò dára. Níwọ́n ìgbà tí ojú ń tì ọ́ nísinsin yìí láti ronú nípa àwọn wọ̀n-ọn-nì tí o ti máa ń ṣe nítorí gbogbo wọn yọrí sí ìparun ayérayé.
22 But now that you have been made free from sin and are enslaved to God, you have your fruit for sanctification. The result is eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
Ṣùgbọ́n báyìí, ẹ ti bọ́ kúrò lọ́wọ́ agbára ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, ẹ sì ti di ẹrú Ọlọ́run àwọn ìbùkún rẹ̀ sí yin ni ìwà mímọ́ àti ìyè tí kò nípẹ̀kun. (aiōnios g166)
23 For the wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (aiōnios g166)
Nítorí ikú ni èrè ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀bùn Ọlọ́run ni ìyè àìnípẹ̀kun nínú Kristi Jesu Olúwa wa. (aiōnios g166)
