Psalms 96
1 Oh, sing to Yahweh a new song; sing to Yahweh, all the earth.
Canticum David, Quando domus aedificabatur post captivitatem. Cantate Domino canticum novum: cantate Domino omnis terra.
2 Sing to Yahweh, bless his name; announce his salvation day after day.
Cantate Domino, et benedicite nomini eius: annunciate de die in diem salutare eius.
3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all the nations.
Annunciate inter Gentes gloriam eius, in omnibus populis mirabilia eius.
4 For Yahweh is great and is to be praised greatly. He is to be feared above all other gods.
Quoniam magnus Dominus, et laudabilis nimis: terribilis est super omnes deos.
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but it is Yahweh who made the heavens.
Quoniam omnes dii Gentium daemonia: Dominus autem caelos fecit.
6 Splendor and majesty are in his presence. Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
Confessio, et pulchritudo in conspectu eius: sanctimonia, et magnificentia in sanctificatione eius.
7 Ascribe to Yahweh, you clans of peoples, ascribe praise to Yahweh for his glory and strength.
Afferte Domino patriae gentium, afferte Domino gloriam et honorem:
8 Give to Yahweh the glory that his name deserves. Bring an offering and come into his courts.
afferte Domino gloriam nomini eius. Tollite hostias, et introite in atria eius:
9 Bow down to Yahweh in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.
adorate Dominum in atrio sancto eius. Commoveatur a facie eius universa terra:
10 Say among the nations, “Yahweh reigns.” The world also is established; it cannot be shaken. He judges the peoples fairly.
dicite in Gentibus quia Dominus regnavit. Etenim correxit orbem terrae qui non commovebitur: iudicabit populos in aequitate.
11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar and that which fills it shout with joy.
Laetentur caeli, et exultet terra, commoveatur mare, et plenitudo eius:
12 Let the fields rejoice and all that is in them. Then let all the trees in the forest shout for joy
gaudebunt campi, et omnia quae in eis sunt. Tunc exultabunt omnia ligna silvarum
13 before Yahweh, for he is coming. He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with his faithfulness.
a facie Domini, quia venit: quoniam venit iudicare terram. Iudicabit orbem terrae in aequitate, et populos in veritate sua.
