Psalms 94
1 Yahweh, God who avenges, God who avenges, shine over us.
O mogočni Bog maščevanj, Gospod, o mogočni Bog maščevanj, prisvéti!
2 Rise up, judge of the earth, give to the proud what they deserve.
Dvigni se, o zemlje sodnik; daj povračilo prevzetnim.
3 How long will the wicked, Yahweh, how long will the wicked rejoice?
Doklej prevzetni, Gospod, doklej se bodejo radovali prevzetni?
4 They pour out their arrogant words; all those who do evil boast.
Ustili se in govorili prevzetno, ponašali se vsi, ki delajo krivico?
5 They crush your people, Yahweh; they afflict the nation that belongs to you.
Zatirali ljudstvo tvoje, Gospod, in ponižávali tvoje posestvo?
6 They kill the widow and foreigner who lives in their country, and they murder the fatherless.
Morili vdovo in tujca, in ubijali sirote?
7 They say, “Yahweh will not see, the God of Jacob does not take notice of it.”
Govoreč: Ne vidi Gospod, in ne zapazi Bog Jakobov.
8 Understand, you stupid people! You fools, when will you ever learn?
Čujte, o najneumnejši v ljudstvu, in najnespametnejši, kdaj bodete razumni?
9 He who made the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see?
Ali on, ki je vsadil uho, ali bi on ne slišal? ali on, ki je naredil oko, ali bi ne videl?
10 He who disciplines the nations, does he not correct? He is the one who gives knowledge to man.
Ali on, ki pokori narode, ali bi ne grajal; ki uči ljudî modrosti, ali bi ne spoznal?
11 Yahweh knows the thoughts of men, that they are vapor.
Gospod pozna misli človeške, da so zgolj ničemurnost.
12 Blessed is the one whom you instruct, Yahweh, the one whom you teach from your law.
Blagor možu, katerega pokoriš, Gospod; in katerega učiš po zakonu svojem.
13 You give him rest in times of trouble until a pit is dug for the wicked.
Da mu pripraviš pokoj od dnî nadloge, ko se koplje krivičnemu jama.
14 For Yahweh will not forsake his people or abandon his inheritance.
Ker Gospod ne zavrže ljudstva svojega, in posestva svojega ne zapusti.
15 For judgment will again be righteous; and all the upright in heart will follow it.
Temuč noter do pravice se povrne sodba, in za njo vsi, ki so pravega srca.
16 Who will rise up to defend me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the wicked?
Kdo bi bil vstal záme zoper hudodelnike? kdo bi se bil postavil zame zoper one, ki delajo krivico?
17 Unless Yahweh had been my help, I would soon be lying down in the place of silence.
Ko bi mi ne bil Gospod, polna pomoč, malo da bi ne bilo življenje moje prebivalo v kraji molčanja.
18 When I said, “My foot is slipping,” Your covenant faithfulness, Yahweh, held me up.
Ko pravim: Omahuje noga moja, milost tvoja, o Gospod, me podpira.
19 When cares within me are many, your consolations make me happy.
Ko so mnoge misli moje pri meni, tolažbe tvoje razveseljujejo dušo mojo.
20 Can a throne of destruction be allied with you, one who creates injustice by statute?
Ali bi se družil s teboj prestol nadlog, njega, ki me nadleguje zoper postavo?
21 They conspire together to take the life of the righteous and they condemn the innocent to death.
Njih, ki se četoma zbirajo proti pravičnega duši, in obsojajo kri nedolžnih?
22 But Yahweh has been my high tower, and my God has been the rock of my refuge.
Dà, Gospod mi je za grad, in Bog moj za skalo mojega pribežališča,
23 He will bring on them their own iniquity and will cut them off in their own wickedness. Yahweh our God will cut them off.
On obrača proti njim njih krivico, in njih hudobnost jih pokončuje, pokončuje jih Gospod, naš Bog.
