Psalms 94
1 Yahweh, God who avenges, God who avenges, shine over us.
Ó Senhor Deus, a quem a vingança pertence, ó Deus, a quem a vingança pertence, mostra-te resplandecente.
2 Rise up, judge of the earth, give to the proud what they deserve.
Exalta-te, tu, que és juiz da terra: dá a paga aos soberbos.
3 How long will the wicked, Yahweh, how long will the wicked rejoice?
Até quando os impios, Senhor, até quando os impios saltarão de prazer?
4 They pour out their arrogant words; all those who do evil boast.
Até quando proferirão, e fallarão coisas duras, e se gloriarão todos os que obram a iniquidade?
5 They crush your people, Yahweh; they afflict the nation that belongs to you.
Reduzem a pedaços o teu povo, e affligem a tua herança.
6 They kill the widow and foreigner who lives in their country, and they murder the fatherless.
Matam a viuva e o estrangeiro, e ao orphão tiram a vida.
7 They say, “Yahweh will not see, the God of Jacob does not take notice of it.”
Comtudo dizem: O Senhor não o verá; nem para isso attenderá o Deus de Jacob.
8 Understand, you stupid people! You fools, when will you ever learn?
Attendei, ó brutaes d'entre o povo; e vós, loucos, quando sereis sabios?
9 He who made the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see?
Aquelle que fez o ouvido não ouvirá? e o que formou o olho não verá?
10 He who disciplines the nations, does he not correct? He is the one who gives knowledge to man.
Aquelle que argúe as gentes não castigará? e o que ensina ao homem o conhecimento não saberá?
11 Yahweh knows the thoughts of men, that they are vapor.
O Senhor conhece os pensamentos do homem, que são vaidade.
12 Blessed is the one whom you instruct, Yahweh, the one whom you teach from your law.
Bemaventurado é o homem aquem tu castigas, ó Senhor, e a quem ensinas a tua lei;
13 You give him rest in times of trouble until a pit is dug for the wicked.
Para lhe dares descanço dos dias maus, até que se abra a cova para o impio.
14 For Yahweh will not forsake his people or abandon his inheritance.
Pois o Senhor não rejeitará o seu povo, nem desamparará a sua herança.
15 For judgment will again be righteous; and all the upright in heart will follow it.
Mas o juizo voltará á rectidão, e seguil-o-hão todos os rectos do coração.
16 Who will rise up to defend me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the wicked?
Quem será por mim contra os malfeitores? quem se porá por mim contra os que obram a iniquidade?
17 Unless Yahweh had been my help, I would soon be lying down in the place of silence.
Se o Senhor não tivera ido em meu auxilio, a minha alma quasi que teria ficado no silencio.
18 When I said, “My foot is slipping,” Your covenant faithfulness, Yahweh, held me up.
Quando eu disse: O meu pé vacilla; a tua benignidade, Senhor, me susteve.
19 When cares within me are many, your consolations make me happy.
Na multidão dos meus pensamentos dentro de mim, as tuas consolações recrearam a minha alma.
20 Can a throne of destruction be allied with you, one who creates injustice by statute?
Porventura o throno d'iniquidade te acompanha, o qual forja o mal por uma lei?
21 They conspire together to take the life of the righteous and they condemn the innocent to death.
Elles se ajuntam contra a alma do justo, e condemnam o sangue innocente.
22 But Yahweh has been my high tower, and my God has been the rock of my refuge.
Mas o Senhor é a minha defeza; e o meu Deus é a rocha do meu refugio.
23 He will bring on them their own iniquity and will cut them off in their own wickedness. Yahweh our God will cut them off.
E trará sobre elles a sua propria iniquidade; e os destruirá na sua propria malicia: o Senhor nosso Deus os destruirá.
