[A Psalm. A song for the Sabbath day.] It is a good thing to give thanks to Jehovah, to sing praises to your name, Most High;
2 to proclaim your covenant faithfulness in the morning and your truthfulness every night,
to proclaim your loving kindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night,
3 with a harp of ten strings and with the melody of the lyre.
with the ten-stringed lute, with the harp, and with the melody of the lyre.
4 For you, Yahweh, have made me glad through your deeds. I will sing for joy because of the deeds of your hands.
For you, Jehovah, have made me glad through your work. I will triumph in the works of your hands.
5 How great are your deeds, Yahweh! Your thoughts are very deep.
How great are your works, Jehovah. Your thoughts are very deep.
6 A brutish person does not know, nor does a fool understand this:
A senseless man doesn't know, neither does a fool understand this:
7 When the wicked sprout like the grass, and even when all the evildoers thrive, still they are doomed to eternal destruction.
though the wicked spring up as the grass, and all the evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever.
8 But you, Yahweh, will reign forever.
But you, Jehovah, are on high forevermore.
9 Indeed, look at your enemies, Yahweh! Indeed, look at your enemies. They will perish! All those who do evil will be scattered.
For, look, your enemies, Jehovah, for, look, your enemies shall perish. All the evildoers will be scattered.
10 You have lifted up my horn like the horn of the wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil.
But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox. I am anointed with fresh oil.
11 My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies; my ears have heard of the doom of my evil foes.
My eye has also seen my enemies. My ears have heard of the wicked enemies who rise up against me.
12 The righteous will flourish like the palm tree; they will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree. He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 They are planted in the house of Yahweh; they flourish in the courts of our God.
They are planted in Jehovah's house. They will flourish in our God's courts.
14 They bear fruit even when they are old; they stay fresh and green,
They will still bring forth fruit in old age. They will be full of sap and green,
15 to proclaim that Yahweh is just. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
to show that Jehovah is upright. He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
