Psalms 91
1 He who lives in the shelter of the Most High will stay in the shadow of the Almighty.
Celui qui se tient dans la demeure du Souverain, se loge à l'ombre du Tout-Puissant.
2 I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Je dirai à l'Eternel: Tu es ma retraite, et ma forteresse, tu es mon Dieu en qui je m'assure.
3 For he will rescue you from the snare of the hunter and from the deadly plague.
Certes il te délivrera du filet du chasseur; [et] de la mortalité malheureuse.
4 He will cover you with his wings, and under his wings you will find refuge. His trustworthiness is a shield and protection.
Il te couvrira de ses plumes, et tu auras retraite sous ses ailes; sa vérité [te servira de] rondache et de bouclier.
5 You will not be afraid of terror in the night, or of the arrow that flies by day,
Tu n'auras point peur de ce qui épouvante de nuit, ni de la flèche qui vole de jour.
6 or of the plague that roams around in the darkness, or of the disease that comes at noontime.
Ni de la mortalité qui marche dans les ténèbres; ni de la destruction qui fait le dégât en plein midi.
7 A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not reach you.
Il en tombera mille à ton côté, et dix mille à ta droite; mais la [destruction] n'approchera point de toi.
8 You will only observe and see the punishment of the wicked.
Seulement tu contempleras de tes yeux, et tu verras la récompense des méchants.
9 For Yahweh is my refuge! Make the Most High your refuge also.
Car tu es ma retraite, ô Eternel! tu as établi le Souverain pour ton domicile.
10 No evil will overtake you; no affliction will come near your home.
Aucun mal ne te rencontrera, et aucune plaie n'approchera de ta tente.
11 For he will direct his angels to protect you, to guard you in all your ways.
Car il donnera charge de toi à ses Anges, afin qu'ils te gardent en toutes tes voies.
12 They will lift you up with their hand so that you will not hit your foot on a stone.
Ils te porteront dans leurs mains, de peur que ton pied ne heurte contre la pierre.
13 You will crush lions and adders under your feet; you will trample on young lions and serpents.
Tu marcheras sur le lion et sur l'aspic, [et] tu fouleras le lionceau et le dragon.
14 Because he is devoted to me, I will rescue him. I will protect him because he is loyal to me.
Puisqu'il m'aime avec affection, [dit le Seigneur], je le délivrerai; je le mettrai en une haute retraite, parce qu'il connaît mon Nom.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble; I will give him victory and will honor him.
Il m'invoquera, et je l'exaucerai; je serai avec lui dans la détresse, je l'en retirerai, et le glorifierai.
16 I will satisfy him with long life and show him my salvation.
Je le rassasierai de jours, et je lui ferai voir ma délivrance.
