Psalms 89
1 A maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of Yahweh's acts of covenant faithfulness forever. I will proclaim your truthfulness to future generations.
En undervisning Ethans, dens Esrahitens. Jag vill sjunga om Herrans nåde evinnerliga, och hans sanning förkunna med minom mun, ifrå slägte till slägte;
2 For I have said, “Covenant faithfulness has been established forever; your truthfulness you have established in the heavens.”
Och säger alltså, att en evig nåd skall uppgå; och du varder dina sanning i himmelen troliga hållandes.
3 “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have made an oath to David my servant.
Jag hafver gjort ett förbund med minom utkorade; minom tjenare David hafver jag svorit:
4 I will establish your descendants forever, and I will establish your throne through all generations.” (Selah)
Jag skall förskaffa dig en evig säd, och bygga din stol ifrå slägte till slägte. (Sela)
5 The heavens praise your wonders, Yahweh; your truthfulness is praised in the assembly of the holy ones.
Och himlarna, Herre, skola prisa din under, och dina sanning, uti de heligas församling.
6 For who in the skies can be compared to Yahweh? Who among the sons of the gods is like Yahweh?
Ty ho kan i skyn liknas vid Herran; och ibland gudarnas barn Herranom lik vara?
7 He is a God who is greatly honored in the council of the holy ones and is awesome among all who surround him.
Gud är fast mägtig uti de heligas församling, och underlig öfver alla de som omkring honom äro.
8 Yahweh God of hosts, who is strong like you, Yahweh? Your truthfulness surrounds you.
Herre Gud Zebaoth, ho är såsom du, en mägtig Herre? Och din sanning är allt omkring dig.
9 You rule the raging sea; when the waves surge, you calm them.
Du råder öfver det stormande hafvet; du styrer dess böljor, när de upphäfva sig.
10 You crushed Rahab as one who is killed. You scattered your enemies with your strong arm.
Du slår Rahab till döds; du förströr dina fiendar, med dinom starka arm.
11 The heavens belong to you, and the earth also. You made the world and all it contains.
Himmel och jord äro din; du hafver grundat jordenes krets, och hvad deruti är.
12 You created the north and the south. Tabor and Hermon rejoice in your name.
Norr och söder hafver du skapat; Thabor och Hermon fröjdar sig i ditt Namn.
13 You have a mighty arm and a strong hand, and your right hand is high.
Du hafver en väldig arm; stark är din hand, och hög är din högra hand.
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Covenant faithfulness and trustworthiness come before you.
Rättfärdighet och dom är dins stols stadfästelse; nåd och sanning äro för ditt ansigte.
15 Blessed are the people who worship you! Yahweh, they walk in the light of your face.
Väl är de folke, som fröjdas kan; Herre, de skola vandra i dins ansigtes ljus.
16 They rejoice in your name all day long, and in your righteousness they exalt you.
De skola dagliga öfver ditt Namn glade vara, och i dine rättfärdighet härlige vara.
17 You are their majestic strength, and by your favor we are victorious.
Ty du äst deras starkhets berömmelse, och genom dina nåde skall du upphöja vårt horn.
18 For our shield belongs to Yahweh; our king belongs to the Holy One of Israel.
Ty Herren är vår sköld, och den Helige i Israel är vår Konung.
19 Long ago you spoke in a vision to your faithful ones; you said, “I have set a crown on a mighty one.” I have raised up one chosen from among the people.
På den tiden talade du i en syn till dina heliga, och sade: Jag hafver uppväckt en hjelta, den hjelpa skall; jag hafver upphöjt en utkoradan utu folket.
20 I have chosen David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him.
Jag hafver funnit min tjenare David; jag hafver smort honom med mina helga oljo.
21 My hand will support him; my arm will strengthen him.
Min hand uppehåller honom, och min arm skall styrka honom.
22 No enemy will deceive him; no son of wickedness will oppress him.
Fienderna skola icke vara honom öfvermägtige, och de orättfärdige skola icke förtrycka honom;
23 I will crush his enemies before him; I will kill those who hate him.
Utan jag skall slå hans ovänner för honom, och de honom hata, vill jag plåga.
24 My truth and my covenant faithfulness will be with him; by my name he will be victorious.
Men min sanning och nåd skall när honom vara; och hans horn skall i mitt Namn upphöjdt varda.
25 I will place his hand over the sea and his right hand over the rivers.
Jag skall sätta hans hand uti hafvet, och hans högra hand uti älfverna.
26 He will call out to me, 'You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.'
Han skall kalla mig alltså: Du äst min fader, min Gud och tröst, den mig hjelper.
27 I also will place him as my firstborn son, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.
Och jag skall göra honom till första sonen, den aldrahögsta ibland Konungarna på jordene.
28 I will extend my covenant faithfulness to him forever; and my covenant with him will be secure.
Jag vill behålla honom mina nåd evinnerliga, och mitt förbund skall honom fast blifva.
29 I will make his descendants endure forever and his throne as enduring as the skies above.
Jag skall gifva honom en evig säd, och hans stol uppehålla, så länge himmelen varar.
30 If his children forsake my law and do not walk in my regulations,
Men om hans barn min lag öfvergifva, och i minom rättom icke vandra;
31 if they break my rules and do not keep my commands,
Om de mina stadgar ohelga, och min bud icke hålla;
32 then will I punish their rebellion with a rod and their iniquity with blows.
Så vill jag hemsöka deras synd med ris, och deras missgerningar med plågor.
33 But I will not remove my steadfast love from him or be unfaithful to my promise.
Men mina nåd vill jag icke vända ifrå honom, och icke låta mina sanning fela.
34 I will not break my covenant or change the words of my lips.
Jag vill icke ohelga mitt förbund, och icke ogildt göra hvad af minom mun utgånget är.
35 Once and for all I have sworn by my holiness— I will not lie to David:
Jag hafver en gång svorit vid mina helighet: Jag vill icke ljuga for David;
36 his descendants will continue forever and his throne as long as the sun before me.
Hans säd skall evig vara, och hans stol för mig såsom solen.
37 It will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.” (Selah)
Såsom månen skall han evinnerliga vid magt hållen varda, och såsom de vittne i skyn viss vara. (Sela)
38 But you have refused and rejected; you have been angry with your anointed king.
Men nu bortdrifver du och förkastar, och vredgas med dinom smorda.
39 You have renounced the covenant of your servant. You have desecrated his crown on the ground.
Du bryter dins tjenares förbund, och trampar hans krono neder på jordena.
40 You have broken down all his walls. You have ruined his strongholds.
Du nederrifver alla hans murar, och låter hans fäste afbrytas.
41 All who pass by have robbed him. He has become an object of disgust to his neighbors.
Honom beröfva alle de der framom gå; han är sinom grannom ett gabberi vorden.
42 You have raised the right hand of his enemies; you have made all his enemies rejoice.
Du upphöjer hans ovänners högra hand, och gläder alla hans fiendar.
43 You turn back the edge of his sword and have not made him stand when in battle.
Ock hafver du hans svärds kraft borttagit, och låter honom ingen seger vinna i stridene.
44 You have brought his splendor to an end; you have brought down his throne to the ground.
Du förstörer hans renhet, och kastar hans stol till jordena.
45 You have shortened the days of his youth. You have covered him with shame. (Selah)
Du förkortar hans ungdoms tid, och betäcker honom med blygd. (Sela)
46 How long, Yahweh? Will you hide yourself, forever? How long will your anger burn like fire?
Herre, huru länge vill du dig så allstinges fördölja; och låta dina grymhet brinna såsom en eld?
47 Oh, think about how short my time is, and for what uselessness you have created all the children of mankind!
Tänk huru stackot mitt lif är; hvi vill du alla menniskor fåfängt skapat hafva?
Hvilken är den der lefver, och intet ser döden; den sina själ friar utu helvetes hand? (Sela) (Sheol h7585)
49 Lord, where are your former acts of covenant faithfulness that you swore to David in your truthfulness?
Herre, hvar är den förra din nåd, den du David i dine sanning svorit hafver?
50 Call to mind, Lord, the mocking directed against your servants and how I bear in my heart so many insults from the nations.
Tänk, Herre, på dina tjenares försmädelse, den jag bär i mitt sköt, af allom så mångom folkom;
51 Your enemies hurl insults, Yahweh; they mock the footsteps of your anointed one.
Dermed, Herre, dine fiender dig försmäda; der de med försmäda, och med fötterna trampa på din smorda.
52 Blessed be Yahweh forever. Amen and Amen.
Lofvad vare Herren evinnerliga. Amen, Amen.
