Psalms 84

1 For the chief musician; set to the Gittith style. A psalm of the sons of Korah. How lovely is the place where you live, Yahweh of hosts!

How amiable are thy tabernacles, O YHWH of hosts!

2 I long for the courts of Yahweh, my desire for it has made me exhausted. My heart and all of my being call out to the living God.

My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of YHWH: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living El.

3 Even the sparrow has found her a house and the swallow a nest for herself where she may lay her young near your altars, Yahweh of hosts, my King, and my God.

Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O YHWH of hosts, my King, and my Elohim.

4 Blessed are they who live in your house; they praise you continually. (Selah)

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. (Selah)

5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways up to Zion.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

6 Passing through the Valley of Tears, they find springs of water to drink. The early rains cover it with blessings.

Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

7 They go from strength to strength; every one of them appears before God in Zion.

They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before Elohim.

8 Yahweh God of hosts, hear my prayer; God of Jacob, listen to what I am saying! (Selah)

O YHWH Elohim of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O Elohim of Jacob. (Selah)

9 God, watch over our shield; show concern for your anointed.

Behold, O Elohim our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

10 For one day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to live within the tents of the wicked.

For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my Elohim, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 For Yahweh God is our sun and shield; Yahweh will give grace and glory; he does not withhold any good thing from those who walk in integrity.

For YHWH Elohim is a sun and shield: YHWH will give favour and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12 Yahweh of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in you.

O YHWH of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
