Psalms 75

1 For the chief musician; set to Al Tashheth. A psalm of Asaph, a song. We give thanks to you, God; we give thanks, for you reveal your presence; people tell of your wondrous works.

Asaphin Psalmi ja veisu, ettei hän hukkunut, edelläveisaajalle. Me kiitämme sinua, ja ilmoitamme ihmeitäs, että sinun nimes on niin läsnä.

2 At the appointed time I will judge fairly.

Sillä ajallansa minä oikein tuomitsen.

3 Though the earth and all the inhabitants shake in fear, I make steady the earth's pillars. (Selah)

Maa vapisee ja kaikki, jotka sen päällä asuvat; mutta minä vahvistan lujasti hänen patsaansa, (Sela)

4 I said to the arrogant, “Do not be arrogant,” and to the wicked, “Do not lift up the horn.

Minä sanoin öykkäreille: älkäät niin kerskatko, ja jumalattomille: älkäät vallan päälle haastako.

5 Do not lift up your horn to the heights; do not speak with an insolent neck.”

Älkäät niin pahoin haastako teidän valtanne päälle: älkäät puhuko niin niskuristi,

6 It is not from the east or from the west, and it is not from the wilderness that lifting up comes.

Niinkuin ei mitään hätää olisi, eikä idästä eikä lännestä, taikka vuorilta korvessa.

7 But God is the judge; he brings down and he lifts up.

Sillä Jumala on tuomari, joka tämän alentaa ja toisen ylentää.

8 For Yahweh holds in his hand a cup of foaming wine, which is mixed with spices, and pours it out. Surely all the wicked of the earth will drink it to the last drop.

Sillä Herran kädessä on malja täynnä, väkevällä viinalla täytetty, ja siitä hän panee sisälle; vaan sen rahkan täytyy kaikkein jumalattomain maan päällä juoda, ja ryypätä ulos.

9 But I will continually tell what you have done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

Mutta minä ilmoitan ijankaikkisesti, ja veisaan kiitosta Jakobin Jumalalle.

10 He says, “I will cut off all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be raised up.”

Ja minä tahdon särkeä kaiken jumalattomain vallan, että vanhurskasten valta korotettaisiin.
