< Psalms 62 >
1 For the chief musician; after the manner of Jeduthun. A psalm of David. I wait in silence for God alone; my salvation comes from him.
Psalmus David, in finem, pro Idithum. Nonne Deo subiecta erit anima mea? ab ipso enim salutare meum.
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved.
Nam et ipse Deus meus, et salutaris meus: susceptor meus, non movebor amplius.
3 How long, all of you, will you attack a man, that you may tip him over like a leaning wall or a shaky fence?
Quousque irruitis in hominem? interficitis universi vos: tamquam parieti inclinato et maceriae depulsae.
4 They consult with him only to bring him down from his honorable position; they love to tell lies; they bless him with their mouths, but in their hearts they curse him. (Selah)
Verumtamen pretium meum cogitaverunt repellere, cucurri in siti: ore suo benedicebant, et corde suo maledicebant.
5 I wait in silence for God alone; for my hope is set on him.
Verumtamen Deo subiecta esto anima mea: quoniam ab ipso patientia mea.
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be moved.
Quia ipse Deus meus, et salvator meus: adiutor meus, non emigrabo.
7 With God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength and my refuge are in God.
In Deo salutare meum, et gloria mea: Deus auxilii mei, et spes mea in Deo est.
8 Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. (Selah)
Sperate in eo omnis congregatio populi, effundite coram illo corda vestra: Deus adiutor noster in aeternum.
9 Surely men of low standing are vanity, and men of high standing are a lie; they will weigh lightly in the scales; weighed together, they are lighter than nothing.
Verumtamen vani filii hominum, mendaces filii hominum in stateris: ut decipiant ipsi de vanitate in idipsum.
10 Do not trust in oppression or robbery; and do not hope uselessly in riches, for they will bear no fruit; do not fix your heart on them.
Nolite sperare in iniquitate, et rapinas nolite concupiscere: divitiae si affluant, nolite cor apponere.
11 God has spoken once, twice have I heard this: power belongs to God.
Semel locutus est Deus, duo haec audivi, quia potestas Dei est,
12 Also to you, Lord, belongs covenant faithfulness, for you pay back every person for what he has done.
et tibi Domine misericordia: quia tu reddes unicuique iuxta opera sua.
