Psalms 62
1 For the chief musician; after the manner of Jeduthun. A psalm of David. I wait in silence for God alone; my salvation comes from him.
Pour Idithun, psaume de David. Est-ce que mon âme ne sera pas soumise à Dieu? car c’est de lui-même que vient mon salut.
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be greatly moved.
Car lui-même est mon Dieu et mon sauveur, mon soutien, je ne serai plus ébranlé.
3 How long, all of you, will you attack a man, that you may tip him over like a leaning wall or a shaky fence?
Jusques à quand fondrez-vous sur un homme? chercherez- vous tous ensemble a le détruire, comme vous feriez à une muraille qui penche, et à un mur sec qui s’écroule?
4 They consult with him only to bring him down from his honorable position; they love to tell lies; they bless him with their mouths, but in their hearts they curse him. (Selah)
Car ils ont songé à me dépouiller de ma dignité: j’ai couru dans ma soif. De leur bouche ils me bénissaient, et de leur cœur ils me maudissaient.
5 I wait in silence for God alone; for my hope is set on him.
Cependant, sois soumise à Dieu, ô mon âme, puisque de lui vient ma patience.
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my high tower; I will not be moved.
Parce que lui-même est mon Dieu et mon sauveur: mon aide, je n’émigrerai pas.
7 With God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength and my refuge are in God.
En Dieu est mon salut et ma gloire: il est le Dieu de mon secours, et mon espérance est en Dieu.
8 Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. (Selah)
Espérez en lui, vous tous qui composez l’assemblée de son peuple; répandez devant lui vos cœurs: Dieu est notre aide pour l’éternité.
9 Surely men of low standing are vanity, and men of high standing are a lie; they will weigh lightly in the scales; weighed together, they are lighter than nothing.
Mais les fils des hommes sont vains; les fils des hommes sont faux dans leurs balances; afin de tromper ensemble par vanité.
10 Do not trust in oppression or robbery; and do not hope uselessly in riches, for they will bear no fruit; do not fix your heart on them.
Gardez-vous bien d’espérer dans l’iniquité, et gardez-vous bien de désirer des rapines: si les richesses vous affluent, gardez-vous bien d’y attacher votre cœur.
11 God has spoken once, twice have I heard this: power belongs to God.
Dieu a parlé une fois, j’ai entendu ces deux choses: que la puissance est à Dieu,
12 Also to you, Lord, belongs covenant faithfulness, for you pay back every person for what he has done.
Et à vous, Seigneur, la miséricorde: que vous rendrez à chacun selon ses œuvres.
