< Psalms 58 >
1 For the chief musician; set to Al Tashheth. A psalm of David. A michtam. Do you rulers speak righteousness? Do you judge uprightly, you people?
Ki he Takimuʻa, ʻAli-Tasikiti, ko e Saame mahuʻinga ʻa Tevita. ʻAe fakataha, ʻoku moʻoni ʻa hoʻomou lea māʻoniʻoni ʻakimoutolu? ʻAe ngaahi foha ʻoe tangata, ʻoku mou fakamaau totonu koā?
2 No, you commit wickedness in your heart; you distribute violence throughout the land with your hands.
ʻIo, ʻoku mou fai kovi ʻi loto; ʻoku mou fakamamafa ʻae kovi ʻo homou nima ʻi māmani.
3 The wicked go astray even when they are in the womb; they go astray from birth, speaking lies.
Talu ʻae māvae ʻae angakovi mo e manāva mo ʻenau hē: ʻoku nau ʻalu hē leva talu ʻenau fanauʻi, ʻi he lea loi.
4 Their poison is like a snake's poison; they are like a deaf adder that stops up its ears,
Ko honau kona ʻoku hangē ko e kona ʻoe ngata: ʻoku nau tatau mo e ngata tuli ʻoku ne tāpuni hono telinga;
5 that pays no attention to the voice of charmers, no matter how skillful they are.
ʻAia ʻe ʻikai tokanga ki he leʻo ʻoe kau fakafiemālie, neongo ʻae poto lahi ʻoe tangata faiva.
6 Break their teeth in their mouths, God; break out the great teeth of the young lions, Yahweh.
ʻE ʻOtua, ke ke sili honau kau nifo ʻi honau ngutu: ʻE Sihova, pakiʻi ʻo toʻo kituʻa ʻae kau nifo lahi ʻoe fanga laione mui.
7 Let them melt away as water that runs off; when they shoot their arrows, let them be as though they had no points.
Tuku ke vela ʻo vai ʻakinautolu ʻo hangē ko e vai ʻoku tafe maʻuaipē: ʻoka teteke ʻe ia ʻene kau fana ke fana ʻaki ʻene ngaahi ngahau, tuku ke tuʻutuʻu ʻakinautolu.
8 Let them be like a snail that melts and passes away, like the untimely-born child of a woman that never sees the sunlight.
Ke mole ʻo ʻosi ʻakinautolu ʻo hangē ko e sineli: tuku ke nau hangē ko e tama taʻehoko ʻae fefine, koeʻuhi ke ʻoua naʻa nau mamata ki he laʻā.
9 Before your pots can feel the thorn's burning heat, he will take them away with a whirlwind, the green thorns and the burning thorns alike.
ʻI he teʻeki vela ki hoʻomou kulo ʻae okooko ʻakau talatala, ʻe ʻosi ʻene ʻave moʻui ʻakinautolu ʻi hono houhau, ʻo hangē ko e ʻahiohio.
10 The righteous will rejoice when he sees God's vengeance; he will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked,
ʻE fiefia ʻae māʻoniʻoni ʻi heʻene mamata ki he totongi: ʻe fufulu ʻe ia hono vaʻe ʻi he toto ʻoe angakovi.
11 so that men will say, “Truly, there is a reward for the righteous person; truly there is a God who judges the earth.”
Ko ia ʻe pehē ai ʻe he tangata, “Ko e moʻoni ʻoku ai ʻae totongi ki he māʻoniʻoni: ko e moʻoni ko e ʻOtua ia ʻoku fakamaau ʻi māmani.”
