Psalms 19
1 For the chief musician. A psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the skies make his handiwork known!
Os céus declararam a glória de Deus e o firmamento anuncia a obra das suas mãos.
2 Day after day speech pours out; night after night it reveals knowledge.
Um dia faz declaração a outro dia, e uma noite mostra sabedoria a outra noite.
3 There is no speech or spoken words; their voice is not heard.
Não há linguagem nem fala onde se não ouçam as suas vozes.
4 Yet their words go out over all the earth, and their speech to the end of the world. He has pitched a tent for the sun among them.
A sua linha se estende por toda a terra, e as suas palavras até ao fim do mundo. neles pôs uma tenda para o sol,
5 The sun is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber and like a strong man who rejoices when he runs his race.
O qual é como um noivo que sai do seu tálamo, e se alegra como um herói, a correr o seu caminho.
6 The sun rises from the one horizon and crosses the sky to the other; nothing escapes its heat.
A sua saída é desde uma extremidade dos céus, e o seu curso até às outras extremidades deles, e nada se esconde ao seu calor.
7 The law of Yahweh is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of Yahweh is reliable, making the simple wise.
A lei do Senhor é perfeita, e refrigera a alma: o testemunho do Senhor é fiel, e dá sabedoria aos símplices.
8 The instructions of Yahweh are right, making the heart glad; the commandment of Yahweh is pure, bringing light to the eyes.
Os preceitos do Senhor são retos e alegram o coração: o mandamento do Senhor é puro, e alumia os olhos
9 The fear of Yahweh is pure, enduring forever; the righteous decrees of Yahweh are true and altogether right!
O temor do Senhor é limpo, e permanece eternamente: os juízos do Senhor são verdadeiros e justos juntamente.
10 They are of greater value than gold, even more than much fine gold; they are sweeter than honey and the dripping honey from the honeycomb.
Mais desejáveis são do que o ouro, sim, do que muito ouro fino; e mais doces do que o mel e o licor dos favos.
11 Yes, by them your servant is warned; in obeying them there is great reward.
Também por eles é admoestado o teu servo; e em os guardar há grande recompensa.
12 Who can discern all his own errors? Cleanse me from hidden faults.
Quem pode entender os seus erros? expurga-me tu dos que me são ocultos.
13 Keep your servant also from arrogant sins; let them not rule over me. Then I will be perfect, and I will be innocent from many transgressions.
Também das soberbas guarda o teu servo, para que se não assenhoreiem de mim: então serei sincero, e ficarei limpo de grande transgressão.
14 May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Yahweh, my rock and my redeemer.
Sejam agradáveis as palavras da minha boca e a meditação do meu coração perante a tua face, Senhor, Rocha minha e Libertador meu
