< Psalms 17 >
1 A prayer of David. Listen to my plea for justice, Yahweh; pay attention to my call for help! Give ear to my prayer from lips without deceit.
Dawid Mpaeɛbɔ. Ao, Awurade tie me tenenee abisadeɛ; tie me sufrɛ. Yɛ aso ma me mpaeɛbɔ deɛ ɛmfiri nnaadaa anofafa mu.
2 Let my vindication come from your presence; let your eyes see what is right!
Ma me bembuo a ɛfiri wo hɔ. Ma wʼani nhunu deɛ ɛyɛ pɛ.
3 If you test my heart, if you come to me in the night, you will purify me and will not find any evil plans; my mouth will not transgress.
Wopɛɛpɛɛ mʼakoma mu, wohwehwɛ me mu anadwo, na wosɔ me hwɛ deɛ, nanso worenhunu hwee; masi madwene pi sɛ mʼano renka bɔne.
4 As for the deeds of mankind, it is at the word of your lips that I have kept myself from the ways of the lawless.
Nnipa nneyɛɛ fam no, wʼanomu asɛm enti matwe me ho afiri basabasayɛfoɔ akwan ho.
5 My steps have held firmly to your tracks; my feet have not slipped.
Menam wʼakwan so daa; me nan nnwatiriiɛ.
6 I call to you, for you answer me, God; turn your ear to me and listen when I speak.
Mesu mefrɛ wo, Ao Onyankopɔn na wobɛgye me so; yɛ aso ma me na tie me mpaeɛbɔ.
7 Show your covenant faithfulness in a wonderful way, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their enemies!
Da wo dɔ nwanwasoɔ no adi wo a wode wo nsa nifa gye wɔn a wɔde wɔn ho to wo so no nkwa firi wɔn atamfoɔ nsam.
8 Protect me like the apple of your eye; hide me under the shadow of your wings
Hwɛ me so sɛ obi a wodɔ no; fa me sie wo ntaban nwunu no ase
9 from the presence of the wicked ones who assault me, my enemies who surround me.
firi amumuyɛfoɔ a wɔretaataa me nsam, mʼatamfoɔ a wɔatwa me ho ahyia no.
10 They have no mercy on anyone; their mouths speak with pride.
Wɔpirim wɔn akoma, na wɔkasa ahantan so.
11 They have surrounded my steps. They set their eyes to strike me to the ground.
Wɔadi me ntɛtɛ, afei wɔatwa me ho ahyia; wɔn ani abere sɛ wɔbɛbɔ me ahwe fam.
12 They are like a lion eager for a victim, like a young lion crouching in hidden places.
Wɔte sɛ gyata a ahaboa ho kɔm de no, te sɛ gyata kɛseɛ bi a wabutu wɔ atɛeɛ.
13 Arise, Yahweh! Attack them! Throw them down on their faces! Rescue my life from the wicked by your sword!
Sɔre, Ao Awurade! Wone wɔn mfa mmɔ ani na ka wɔn hyɛ; fa wʼakofena no gye me firi amumuyɛfoɔ no nsam.
14 Rescue me from men by your hand, Yahweh, from men of this world whose prosperity is in this life alone! You will fill the bellies of your treasured ones with riches; they will have many children and will leave their wealth to their children.
Ao Awurade fa wo nsa gye me firi nnipa a wɔte sei nsam asase so nnipa a wɔn akatua wɔ nkwa yi mu. Womma ɛkɔm nne wɔn a wʼani ku wɔn ho; wɔn mmammarima wɔ bebree, na wɔkora agyapadeɛ ma wɔn mma.
15 As for me, I will see your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied, when I awake, with a sight of you.
Na me deɛ, me tenenee mu, mɛhunu wʼanim; sɛ menyane na mehunu wo a, mʼakoma bɛtɔ ne yam. Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ.
