< Psalms 146 >
1 Praise Yahweh. Praise Yahweh, my soul.
Alleluia, [a Psalm] of Aggaeus and Zacharias. My soul, praise the Lord.
2 I give praise to Yahweh with all my life; I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.
While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.
3 Do not put your trust in princes or in mankind, in whom there is no salvation.
Trust not in princes, nor in the children of men, in whom there is no safety.
4 When a person's life's breath stops, he returns to the ground; on that day his plans end.
His breath shall go forth, and he shall return to his earth; in that day all his thoughts shall perish.
5 Blessed is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahweh his God.
Blessed is he whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God:
6 Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; he observes trustworthiness forever.
who made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all things in them: who keeps truth for ever:
7 He executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. Yahweh frees the prisoners;
who executes judgment for the wronged: who gives food to the hungry. The Lord looses the fettered ones:
8 Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind; Yahweh raises up those who are bowed down; Yahweh loves the righteous people.
the Lord gives wisdom to the blind: The Lord sets up the broken down: the Lord loves the righteous: the Lord preserves the strangers;
9 Yahweh protects the foreigners in the land; he lifts up the fatherless and widow, but he opposes the wicked.
he will relieve the orphan and widow: but will utterly remove the way of sinners.
10 Yahweh will reign forever, your God, Zion, for all generations. Praise Yahweh.
The Lord shall reign for ever, [even] thy God, O Sion, to all generations.
