Psalms 139
1 For the chief musician. A psalm of David. Yahweh, you have examined me, and you know me.
Zborovođi. Davidov. Jahve, proničeš me svega i poznaješ,
2 You know when I sit down and when I get up; you understand my thoughts from far away.
ti znaš kada sjednem i kada ustanem, izdaleka ti već misli moje poznaješ.
3 You observe my path and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
Hodam li ili ležim, sve ti vidiš, znani su ti svi moji putovi.
4 For before there is a word on my tongue, you know it completely, Yahweh.
Riječ mi još nije na jezik došla, a ti, Jahve, sve već znadeš.
5 Behind me and before me you surround me and place your hand upon me.
S leđa i s lica ti me obuhvaćaš, na mene si ruku svoju stavio.
6 Such knowledge is too much for me; it is too high, and I cannot reach it.
Znanje to odveć mi je čudesno, previsoko da bih ga dokučio.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
Kamo da idem od duha tvojega i kamo da od tvog lica pobjegnem?
8 If I ascend up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there. (Sheol h7585)
Ako se na nebo popnem, ondje si, ako u Podzemlje legnem, i ondje si. (Sheol h7585)
9 If I fly away on the wings of the morning and go to live in the uttermost parts across the sea,
Uzmem li krila zorina pa se naselim moru na kraj
10 even there your hand will lead me, your right hand will hold on to me.
i ondje bi me ruka tvoja vodila, desnica bi me tvoja držala.
11 If I said, “Surely the darkness will cover me, and the light will become night around me,”
Reknem li: “Nek' me barem tmine zakriju i nek' me noć umjesto svjetla okruži!” -
12 even the darkness would not be dark to you. The night would shine like the day, for the darkness and the light are both alike to you.
ni tmina tebi neće biti tamna: noć sjaji kao dan i tama kao svjetlost.
13 You formed my inner parts; you formed me in my mother's womb.
Jer ti si moje stvorio bubrege, satkao me u krilu majčinu.
14 I will praise you, for I am wonderfully made. My soul knows this very well.
Hvala ti što sam stvoren tako čudesno, što su djela tvoja predivna. Dušu moju do dna si poznavao,
15 My bones were not hidden from you when I was made in private, when I was intricately made in the depths of the earth.
kosti moje ne bjehu ti sakrite dok nastajah u tajnosti, otkan u dubini zemlje.
16 You saw me inside the womb; all the days assigned to me were recorded in your book even before the first one happened.
Oči tvoje već tada gledahu djela moja, sve već bješe zapisano u knjizi tvojoj: dani su mi određeni dok još ne bješe ni jednoga.
17 How precious are your thoughts to me, God! How vast is their sum!
Kako su mi, Bože, naumi tvoji nedokučivi, kako li je neprocjenjiv zbroj njihov.
18 If I tried to count them, they would be more in number than the sand. When I awake, I am still with you.
Da ih brojim? Više ih je nego pijeska! Dođem li im do kraja, ti mi preostaješ!
19 If only you would kill the wicked, God; get away from me, you violent men.
De, istrijebi, Bože, zlotvora, krvoloci nek' odstupe od mene!
20 They rebel against you and act deceitfully; your enemies tell lies.
Jer podmuklo se bune protiv tebe, uzalud se dižu tvoji dušmani.
21 Do I not hate those, Yahweh, who hate you? Do I not despise those who rise up against you?
Jahve, zar da ne mrzim tvoje mrzitelje? Zar da mi se ne gade protivnici tvoji?
22 I hate them completely; they have become my enemies.
Mržnjom dubokom ja ih mrzim i držim ih svojim neprijateljima.
23 Examine me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts.
Pronikni me svega, Bože, srce mi upoznaj, iskušaj me i upoznaj misli moje:
24 See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.
pogledaj, ne idem li putem pogubnim i povedi me putem vječnim!
