< Psalms 130 >
1 A song of ascents. Out of the depths I cry to you, Yahweh.
“A psalm of the steps, or the goings up.” Out of the depths do I cry to thee, O LORD!
2 Lord, hear my voice; let your ears be attentive to my pleas for mercy.
O Lord! listen to my voice, Let thine ears be attentive to my supplication!
3 If you, Yahweh, would mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand?
If thou, LORD, shouldst treasure up transgressions, Lord, who could stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with you, that you may be revered.
But with thee is forgiveness, That thou mayst be feared.
5 I wait for Yahweh, my soul waits, and in his word I hope.
I trust in the LORD; my soul doth trust, And in his promise do I confide.
6 My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning.
My soul waiteth for the LORD More than they who watch for the morning; Yea, more than they who watch for the morning!
7 Israel, hope in Yahweh. Yahweh is merciful, and he is very willing to forgive.
O Israel! trust in the LORD! For with the LORD is mercy, And with him is plenteous redemption.
8 It is he who will redeem Israel from all his sins.
He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
