Psalms 125

1 A song of ascents. Those who trust in Yahweh are like Mount Zion, unshakable, forever enduring.

Veisu korkeimmassa Kuorissa. Jotka Herran päälle uskaltavat, ei he lankee, vaan pysyvät ijankaikkisesti niinkuin Zionin vuori.

2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so Yahweh surrounds his people now and forever.

Jerusalemin ympäri ovat vuoret, ja Herra on kansansa ympärillä, hamasta nyt ja ijankaikkiseen.

3 The scepter of wickedness must not rule in the land of the righteous. Otherwise the righteous might do what is wrong.

Sillä jumalattomain valtikka ei pidä pysymän vanhurskasten joukon päällä, ettei vanhurskaat ojentaisi käsiänsä vääryyteen.

4 Do good, Yahweh, to those who are good and to those who are upright in their hearts.

Herra, tee hyvästi hyville ja hurskaille sydämille.

5 But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, Yahweh will lead them away with the evildoers. May peace be on Israel.

Mutta jotka poikkeevat vääriin teihinsä, niitä Herra ajaa pois pahantekiäin kanssa; mutta rauha olkoon Israelille!
