Psalms 122

1 A song of ascents, of David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of Yahweh.”

Ein Stufenlied, von David. - Mich freut es, sagen sie zu mir: "Laßt uns zum Haus des Herren wallen!

2 Jerusalem, our feet are standing within your gates!

Bald sollen unsere Füße stehen, Jerusalem, in deinen Toren."

3 Jerusalem, built as a city carefully planned!

Jerusalem ist wieder aufgebaut als eine Stadt. Damit verbunden ist

4 The tribes go up to Jerusalem—the tribes of Yahweh— as a testimony for Israel, to give thanks to the name of Yahweh.

die heilige Pflicht für Israel, daß dorthin ziehn die Stämme, ja, des Herren Stämme, und dort des Herren Namen preisen.

5 There thrones of judgment were set, thrones of the house of David.

Dort stehen ja die Richterstühle, des Davidshauses Throne.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May those who love you have peace.

Begrüßet so Jerusalem: "Mög's deinen Freunden wohl ergehen!

7 May there be peace within the walls that defend you, and may they have peace within your fortresses.”

In deinen Mauern herrsche Frieden und Sicherheit in deinen Burgen!"

8 For the sake of my brothers and my friends I will say, “May there be peace within you.”

Um meiner Freunde, meiner Brüder willen, wünsch ich dir Heil und Segen:

9 For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God, I will seek good for you.

Des Hauses unseres Herrn und Gottes wegen wünsch ich dir Wohlergehen."
