Psalms 116
1 I love Yahweh because he hears my voice and my pleas for mercy.
Ngiyayithanda iNkosi, ngoba izwile ilizwi lami, ukunxusa kwami.
2 Because he listened to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
Ngoba ibeke indlebe yayo kimi, ngakho ngizayibiza ensukwini zami.
3 The cords of death surrounded me, and the snares of Sheol confronted me; I felt anguish and sorrow. (Sheol h7585)

4 Then I called on the name of Yahweh: “Please Yahweh, rescue my life.”

5 Yahweh is merciful and fair; our God is compassionate.
Ilomusa iNkosi, ilungile; ye, uNkulunkulu wethu ulesihawu.
6 Yahweh protects the naive; I was brought low, and he saved me.
INkosi iyabalondoloza abathobekileyo; ngehliselwa phansi, yasingisindisa.
7 My soul can return to its resting place, for Yahweh has been good to me.
Buyela, mphefumulo wami, ekuphumuleni kwakho, ngoba iNkosi ikuphethe ngomusa.
8 For you rescued my life from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.
Ngoba ikhulule umphefumulo wami ekufeni, amehlo ami ezinyembezini, unyawo lwami ekuweni.
9 I will serve Yahweh in the land of the living.
Ngizahamba phambi kweNkosi emazweni abaphilayo.
10 I believed in him, even when I said, “I am greatly afflicted.”

11 In my confusion I said, “All men are liars.”

12 How can I repay Yahweh for all his kindnesses to me?

13 I will raise the cup of salvation, and call on the name of Yahweh.

14 I will fulfill my vows to Yahweh in the presence of all his people.

15 Precious in the sight of Yahweh is the death of his saints.
Kuligugu emehlweni eNkosi ukufa kwabangcwele bayo.
16 Yahweh, indeed, I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your servant woman; you have taken away my bonds.
Hawu Nkosi, isibili ngiyinceku yakho, ngiyinceku yakho, indodana yencekukazi yakho; uthukulule izibopho zami.
17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and will call on the name of Yahweh.
Ngizakuhlabela umhlatshelo wokubonga, ngibize ibizo leNkosi.
18 I will fulfill my vows to Yahweh in the presence of all his people,
Ngizakhokha izifungo zami eNkosini, khathesi phambi kwabantu bayo bonke,
19 in the courts of Yahweh's house, in your midst, Jerusalem. Praise Yahweh.
