Psalms 116
1 I love Yahweh because he hears my voice and my pleas for mercy.
Amo il Signore perché ascolta il grido della mia preghiera. Alleluia.
2 Because he listened to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
Verso di me ha teso l'orecchio nel giorno in cui lo invocavo.
3 The cords of death surrounded me, and the snares of Sheol confronted me; I felt anguish and sorrow. (Sheol h7585)
Mi stringevano funi di morte, ero preso nei lacci degli inferi. Mi opprimevano tristezza e angoscia (Sheol h7585)
4 Then I called on the name of Yahweh: “Please Yahweh, rescue my life.”
e ho invocato il nome del Signore: «Ti prego, Signore, salvami».
5 Yahweh is merciful and fair; our God is compassionate.
Buono e giusto è il Signore, il nostro Dio è misericordioso.
6 Yahweh protects the naive; I was brought low, and he saved me.
Il Signore protegge gli umili: ero misero ed egli mi ha salvato.
7 My soul can return to its resting place, for Yahweh has been good to me.
Ritorna, anima mia, alla tua pace, poiché il Signore ti ha beneficato;
8 For you rescued my life from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.
egli mi ha sottratto dalla morte, ha liberato i miei occhi dalle lacrime, ha preservato i miei piedi dalla caduta.
9 I will serve Yahweh in the land of the living.
Camminerò alla presenza del Signore sulla terra dei viventi.
10 I believed in him, even when I said, “I am greatly afflicted.”
Ho creduto anche quando dicevo: «Sono troppo infelice». Alleluia.
11 In my confusion I said, “All men are liars.”
Ho detto con sgomento: «Ogni uomo è inganno».
12 How can I repay Yahweh for all his kindnesses to me?
Che cosa renderò al Signore per quanto mi ha dato?
13 I will raise the cup of salvation, and call on the name of Yahweh.
Alzerò il calice della salvezza e invocherò il nome del Signore.
14 I will fulfill my vows to Yahweh in the presence of all his people.
Adempirò i miei voti al Signore, davanti a tutto il suo popolo.
15 Precious in the sight of Yahweh is the death of his saints.
Preziosa agli occhi del Signore è la morte dei suoi fedeli.
16 Yahweh, indeed, I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your servant woman; you have taken away my bonds.
Sì, io sono il tuo servo, Signore, io sono tuo servo, figlio della tua ancella; hai spezzato le mie catene.
17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and will call on the name of Yahweh.
A te offrirò sacrifici di lode e invocherò il nome del Signore.
18 I will fulfill my vows to Yahweh in the presence of all his people,
Adempirò i miei voti al Signore e davanti a tutto il suo popolo,
19 in the courts of Yahweh's house, in your midst, Jerusalem. Praise Yahweh.
