Psalms 105
1 Give thanks to Yahweh, call on his name; make known his deeds among the nations.
Dem Herrn sagt Dank! Verherrlicht seinen Namen! Macht seine Taten den Nationen kund!
2 Sing to him, sing praises to him; speak of all his marvelous deeds.
Lobsingt von ihm! Lobt ihn! Erzählt von seinen Wundern all!
3 Boast in his holy name; let the heart of those who seek Yahweh rejoice.
In seinem heiligen Namen rühmet euch! Von Herzen freue sich, wer nach dem Herrn sucht!
4 Seek Yahweh and his strength; seek his presence continually.
Verlanget nach dem Herrn und seiner Herrlichkeit! Stets sucht sein Angesicht!
5 Recall the marvelous things he has done, his miracles and the decrees from his mouth,
Gedenkt der Wunder, die er tat, der Zeichen, seiner Richtersprüche!
6 you descendants of Abraham his servant, you people of Jacob, his chosen ones.
Geschlecht du, seines Knechtes Abraham, ihr Söhne Jakobs, seines Auserwählten! -
7 He is Yahweh, our God. His decrees are on all the earth.
Der Herr ist unser Gott, und auf der ganzen Erde gelten seine Urteilssprüche.
8 He keeps in mind his covenant forever, the word that he commanded for a thousand generations.
In Ewigkeit gedenkt er seines Bundes und seines Wortes, das er sprach, ins tausendste Geschlecht,
9 He calls to mind the covenant that he made with Abraham and his oath to Isaac.
des Bunds, den er mit Abraham geschlossen für Israel als einen ewigen Bund,
10 This is what he confirmed to Jacob as a statute and to Israel as an everlasting covenant.
den er für Jakob als ein Recht bestätigt, und seines Eides, den er Isaak zugeschworen.
11 He said, “I will give you the land of Canaan as your share of your inheritance.”
"Dir", sprach er, "geb' ich Kanaan, als euer zugemessen Erbe." -
12 He said this when they were only few in number, so very few, and were strangers in the land.
Noch klein war damals ihre Zahl, noch winzig klein und fremd darin.
13 They went from nation to nation and from one kingdom to another.
Sie wanderten von einem Heidenvolk zum andern, von einem Reich zu einer andern Nation.
14 He did not allow anyone to oppress them; he rebuked kings for their sakes.
Er gab nicht zu, daß jemand sie bedrückte; er warnte ihretwegen Könige:
15 He said, “Do not touch my anointed ones, and do not harm my prophets.”
"Vergreift euch nicht an den von mir Gesalbten! Fügt keinen Schaden meinen Sehern zu!" -
16 He called for a famine on the land; he cut off the whole supply of bread.
Er rief alsdann ins Land den Hunger, jedwede Brotesstütze brechend.
17 He sent a man ahead of them; Joseph was sold as a servant.
Er sandte einen Mann vor ihnen her; zum Sklaven ward Joseph verkauft.
18 His feet were bound by shackles; on his neck was put an iron collar,
in Fesseln zwang man seine Füße; in Eisen ward sein Hals gelegt,
19 until what he had said came to pass. The word of Yahweh tested him.
bis in Erfüllung ging, was er verheißen, und ihn der Spruch des Herrn bewährte.
20 The king sent servants to release him; the ruler of the people set him free.
Da ließ der König ihn entfesseln; der Völkerherrscher ließ ihn frei.
21 He put him in charge of his house as ruler of all his possessions
Er machte ihn zum Herrn in seinem Hause und zum Verwalter über all sein Gut,
22 to instruct his princes as he wished and to teach his elders wisdom.
daß er nach seinem Sinne seine Fürsten lenkte und seine Ältesten belehrte. -
23 Then Israel came into Egypt, and Jacob lived for a time in the land of Ham.
Alsdann kam nach Ägypten Israel, und Jakob ward ein Gast im Lande Chams.
24 Yahweh made his people fruitful, and made them stronger than their enemies.
Er machte fruchtbar dort sein Volk, für seine Feinde allzu zahlreich.
25 He caused their enemies to hate his people, to mistreat his servants.
Nun wandte er ihr Herz zum Hasse wider Gottes Volk, zur Arglist gegen seine Diener.
26 He sent Moses, his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen.
Er sandte Moses, seinen Diener, und Aaron, den er sich erkoren.
27 They performed his signs among the Egyptians, his wonders in the land of Ham.
Sie zeigten ihnen seine Wunder und taten Zeichen in dem Lande Chams.
28 He sent darkness and made that land dark, but its people did not obey his commands.
Er sandte Finsternis, und dunkel ward's; doch achteten sie nicht auf seinen Wink.
29 He turned their water into blood and killed their fish.
Er wandelte in Blut ihr Wasser, und ihre Fische ließ er sterben.
30 Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the rooms of their rulers.
Er ließ ihr Land von Fröschen wimmeln bis in die Kammern ihrer Könige.
31 He spoke, and swarms of flies and gnats came throughout their country.
Er sprach; da kam ein Fliegenschwarm und Mücken in ihr ganz Gebiet.
32 He turned their rain into hail, with fire flaming on their land.
Für Regen gab er ihnen Hagel und Feuerflammen auf ihr Land,
33 He destroyed their vines and fig trees; he broke the trees of their country.
schlug ihren Weinstock, ihren Feigenbaum darnieder. zersplitterte die Bäume all in ihren Grenzen.
34 He spoke, and the locusts came, so many locusts.
Er sprach; da kamen Heuschrecken und Ungeziefer ohne Zahl.
35 The locusts ate up all of the vegetation in their land; They ate up all the crops of the ground.
Sie fraßen alles Gras in ihrem Land und fraßen ihre Feldfrucht ab.
36 He killed every firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their strength.
In ihrem Lande schlug er alle Erstgeburt, die Erstlinge all ihrer Kraft. -
37 He brought the Israelites out with silver and gold; none of his tribes stumbled on the way.
Er führte sie mit Gold und Silber aus dem Lande, und unter seinen Stämmen war kein Müder.
38 Egypt was glad when they went away, for the Egyptians were afraid of them.
Ägypten ward ob ihres Wegzugs froh; denn Angst vor ihnen hatte sie befallen.
39 He spread a cloud for a covering and made a fire to light up the night.
Er breitete zum Schirme eine Wolke aus und Feuer, um bei Nacht zu leuchten.
40 The Israelites asked for food, and he brought quail and satisfied them with bread from heaven.
Auf ihre Bitte ließ er Wachteln kommen und schenkte ihnen Himmelsspeise zur Genüge.
41 He split the rock, and waters gushed from it; they flowed in the wilderness like a river.
Er öffnete den Fels, daß Wasser flossen, in dürrem Lande Ströme rieselten.
42 For he called to mind his holy promise that he made to Abraham his servant.
Denn er gedachte seines heiligen Wortes und seines Dieners Abraham.
43 He led his people out with joy, his chosen with shouts of triumph.
So führte er sein Volk mit Jubel fort, mit Jauchzen seine Auserwählten.
44 He gave them the lands of the nations; they took possession of the wealth of the peoples
Der Heiden Länder gab er ihnen, ließ sie die Frucht des Völkerfleißes erben,
45 so that they might keep his statutes and obey his laws. Praise Yahweh.
auf daß sie seine Rechte hielten, und seine Lehren treu bewahrten. Alleluja!
