Psalms 10
1 Why, Yahweh, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
Varför, HERRE, står du så långt ifrån och fördöljer dig i nödens tider?
2 Because of their arrogance, wicked people chase the oppressed; but please let the wicked be trapped by their own schemes that they have devised.
Genom de ogudaktigas övermod måste den arme lida. Må de fångas i de ränker som de hava uttänkt!
3 For the wicked person boasts of his deepest desires; he blesses the greedy and insults Yahweh.
Ty den ogudaktige berömmer sig av sin själs lystnad, och den rovgirige talar förgripligt och föraktar HERREN.
4 The wicked man has a raised face; he does not seek God. He never thinks about God because he does not care at all about him.
Den ogudaktige säger i sitt högmod: "Han frågar icke därefter." "Det finnes ingen Gud", så äro alla hans tankar.
5 He is secure at all times, but your righteous decrees are too high for him; he snorts at all his enemies.
Trygga äro alltid hans vägar, dina domar gå högt över hans blickar; alla sina ovänner räknar han för intet.
6 He says in his heart,” I will never fail; throughout all generations I will not meet adversity.”
Han säger i sitt hjärta: "Jag skall icke vackla, över mig skall i evighet ingen olycka komma."
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceptive, harmful words; his tongue injures and destroys.
Hans mun är full av förbannelse, av svek och förtryck; hans tunga gömmer olycka och fördärv.
8 He waits in ambush near the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent; his eyes look for some helpless victim.
Han lägger sig i försåt vid gårdarna, i lönndom vill han dräpa den oskyldige; hans ögon lura på den olycklige.
9 He lurks in secret like a lion in the thicket; he lies in wait to catch the oppressed. He catches the oppressed when he pulls in his net.
Han ligger i försåt på lönnligt ställe, såsom ett lejon i sitt snår, han ligger i försåt för att gripa den arme; han griper den arme, i det han drager honom in i sitt nät.
10 His victims are crushed and beaten down; they fall into his strong nets.
Han trycker sig ned, han ligger på lur, och de olyckliga falla i hans klor.
11 He says in his heart, “God has forgotten; he covers his face; he will not bother to look.”
Han säger i sitt hjärta: "Gud förgäter det, han har dolt sitt ansikte, han ser det aldrig."
12 Arise, Yahweh! Lift up your hand, God! Do not forget the oppressed.
Stå upp, HERRE; Gud, upplyft din hand, förgät icke de arma.
13 Why does the wicked man reject God and say in his heart, “You will not hold me accountable”?
Varför skall den ogudaktige få förakta Gud och säga i sitt hjärta att du icke frågar därefter?
14 You have taken notice, for you always see the one who inflicts the misery and sorrow. The helpless entrusts himself to you; you rescue the fatherless.
Du har ju sett det, ty du giver akt på olycka och jämmer, för att taga det i din hand. Åt dig överlämnar den olycklige sin sak; du blev den faderlöses hjälpare.
15 Break the arm of the wicked and evil man. Make him account for his evil deeds, which he thought you would not discover.
Bryt sönder den ogudaktiges arm, och hemsök de ondas ogudaktighet, så att du icke mer finner den.
16 Yahweh is King forever and ever; the nations are driven out of his land.
Ja, HERREN är konung alltid och evinnerligen; hedningarna utrotas ur hans land.
17 Yahweh, you have heard the needs of the oppressed; you strengthen their heart, you listen to their prayer;
De ödmjukas trängtan hör du, HERRE; du gör deras hjärtan ståndaktiga; du låter ditt öra giva akt
18 You defend the fatherless and the oppressed so that no man on the earth will cause terror again.
för att skaffa den faderlöse och förtryckte rätt, så att människor, komna av jord, ej längre vålla skräck.
