Proverbs 1
1 The proverbs of Solomon son of David, the king of Israel.
১শলোমনের হিতোপদেশ; তিনি দায়ূদের ছেলে, ইস্রায়েলের রাজা।
2 These proverbs are to teach wisdom and instruction, to teach words of insight,
২এর মাধ্যমে প্রজ্ঞা ও উপদেশ পাওয়া যায়, অনুশাসন পাওয়া যায়;
3 that you may receive instruction in order to live by doing what is right, just, and fair.
৩উপদেশ পাওয়া যায় যাতে তুমি যা কিছু সঠিক, ন্যায্য এবং ভালো তার মাধ্যমে জীবনযাপন করো,
4 These proverbs are also to give wisdom to the naive, and to give knowledge and discretion to young people.
৪যারা শিক্ষা পায়নি, তাদেরকে শিক্ষা দান করে এবং যুবকদের জ্ঞান ও বিবেচনা দান করে।
5 Let wise people listen and increase their learning, and let discerning people get guidance,
৫জ্ঞানীরা শুনুক এবং তাদের জ্ঞানের বৃদ্ধি করুক এবং বুদ্ধিমানেরা পরিচালনা লাভ করুক,
6 to understand proverbs, sayings, and words of wise people and their riddles.
৬উপদেশ এবং নীতিকথা বুঝতে; জ্ঞানীদের কথা ও তাঁদের ধাঁধা বুঝতে।
7 The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge— fools despise wisdom and instruction.
৭সদাপ্রভুর ভয় জ্ঞানের আরম্ভ; নির্বোধেরা প্রজ্ঞা ও উপদেশ তুচ্ছ করে।
8 My son, hear the instruction of your father and do not lay aside the rules of your mother;
৮সন্তান, তুমি তোমার বাবার উপদেশ শোন, তোমার মায়ের ব্যবস্থা সরিয়ে রেখো না।
9 they will be a graceful wreath for your head and pendants hanging from your neck.
৯সেগুলো তোমার মাথার শোভা জয়ের মালা ও তোমার গলার হারস্বরূপ হবে।
10 My son, if sinners try to entice you into their sin, refuse to follow them.
১০আমার পুত্র, যদি পাপীরা তোমাকে প্রলোভন দেখায়, তুমি তাদের ত্যাগ কর।
11 If they say, “Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us hide and attack innocent people for no reason.
১১তারা যদি বলে, “আমাদের সঙ্গে এস, আমরা হত্যা করবার জন্য লুকিয়ে থাকি, নির্দোষদের অকারণে ধরবার জন্য লুকিয়ে থাকি,
12 Let us swallow them up alive, like Sheol takes away those who are healthy, and make them like those who fall into the pit. (Sheol h7585)
১২এসো আমরা তাদেরকে পাতালের মত জীবন্ত গ্রাস করি, যারা গর্তগামী তাদের মত, সম্পূর্ণভাবে৷ (Sheol h7585)
13 We shall find all kinds of valuable things; we will fill our houses with what we steal from others.
১৩আমরা সব ধরনের বহুমূল্য ধন পাব, অন্যের লুট করা জিনিস দিয়ে নিজের নিজের ঘর পূর্ণ করব,
14 Throw in your lot with us; we will all have one purse together.”
১৪তুমি আমাদের মধ্যে গুলিবাঁট কর, আমাদের সবারই একটি থলি হবে;”
15 My son, do not walk down that road with them; do not let your foot touch where they walk;
১৫আমার পুত্র, তাদের সঙ্গে সেই পথে যেও না, তাদের রাস্তা থেকে তোমার পা সরিয়ে নাও,
16 their feet run to evil and they hurry to shed blood.
১৬কারণ তাদের পা মন্দের দিকে দৌড়ায়, তারা রক্তপাত করতে দ্রুত এগিয়ে যায়।
17 For it is useless to spread the net in the sight of any bird.
১৭যখন পাখিটি দেখছে, তখন তার চোখের সামনে জাল বিছিয়ে ফাঁদে ফেলা অর্থহীন।
18 These men lie in wait for their own blood— they set an ambush for their own lives.
১৮ওই লোকগুলো নিজেদেরই রক্তপাত করতে লুকিয়ে থাকে, তারা নিজেরাই নিজেদের জন্য ফাঁদ পাতে।
19 So are the ways of everyone who gains riches by injustice; unjust gain takes away the lives of those who hold on to it.
১৯তাদের পথ সেই রকম যারা মন্দ উপায়ে সম্পদ লাভ করে; যারা সেই সম্পদ ধরে রাখে তা তাদের প্রাণ নিয়ে নেয়।
20 Wisdom cries aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the open places;
২০প্রজ্ঞা রাস্তায় চেঁচিয়ে ডাকছে, খোলা জায়গায় সে তার রব তোলে;
21 at the head of the noisy streets she cries out, at the entrance of the city gates she speaks,
২১সে কোলাহলপূর্ণ পথের মাথায় ডাকে, শহরের দরজায় সবার প্রবেশের জায়গায়, সে এই কথা বলে;
22 “How long, you naive people, will you love being naive? How long, you mockers, will you delight in mockery, and how long, you fools, will you hate knowledge?
২২“তোমাদের যাদের জ্ঞান নেই আর কত দিন তোমরা যা বোঝো না তা ভালোবাসবে? নিন্দুকেরা কত দিন নিন্দায় আনন্দ করবে? নির্বোধেরা, কত দিন জ্ঞানকে ঘৃণা করবে?
23 Pay attention to my correction; I will pour out my thoughts to you; I will make my words known to you.
২৩আমার অনুযোগে মন দাও; দেখ, আমি তোমাদের ওপর আমার আত্মা সেচন করব, আমার কথা তোমাদেরকে জানাবো।
24 I have called, and you have refused to listen; I reached out with my hand, but there was no one who paid attention.
২৪আমি ডাকলাম এবং তুমি প্রত্যাখ্যান করলে; আমি হাত বাড়িয়ে দিলাম কিন্তু কেউই মনোযোগ দিল না;
25 But you have ignored all my instruction and paid no attention to my correction.
২৫কিন্তু তোমরা আমার সব পরামর্শ অগ্রাহ্য করলে, আমার তিরস্কারে মনোযোগ করলে না।
26 I will laugh at your calamity, I will mock you when the terror comes—
২৬এজন্য তোমাদের বিপদে আমিও হাঁসব, তোমাদের ভয় উপস্থিত হলে পরিহাস করব;
27 when your fearful dread comes like a storm and disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you.
২৭যখন ঝড়ের মত তোমাদের ভয় উপস্থিত হবে, ঘুর্নিঝড়ের মত তোমাদের বিপদ আসবে, যখন সঙ্কট ও সঙ্কোচ তোমাদের কাছে আসবে।
28 Then they will call upon me, and I will not answer; they will desperately call for me, but they will not find me.
২৮তখন সবাই আমাকে ডাকবে, কিন্তু আমি উওর দেব না, তারা স্বযত্নে আমার খোঁজ করবে, কিন্তু আমাকে পাবে না;
29 Because they hate knowledge and did not choose the fear of Yahweh,
২৯কারণ তারা জ্ঞানকে ঘৃণা করত, সদাপ্রভুর ভয় মানত না;
30 they would not follow my instruction, and they despised all my correction.
৩০তারা আমার নির্দেশ অনুসরণ করত না এবং তারা আমার সব অনুযোগ তুচ্ছ করত;
31 They will eat the fruit of their ways, and with the fruit of their schemes they will be filled.
৩১তারা তাদের আচরণের ফল ভোগ করবে এবং তারা তাদের পরিকল্পনার ফলে নিজেদেরকে পূর্ণ করবে।
32 For the naive are killed when they turn away, and the indifference of fools will destroy them.
৩২ফলে, নির্বোধদের বিপথে যাওয়ার জন্য তাদেরকে হত্যা করবে, বোকাদের উদাসীনতা তাদেরকে ধ্বংস করবে;
33 But whoever listens to me will live in safety and will rest secure with no fear of disaster.”
৩৩কিন্তু যে ব্যক্তি আমার কথা শুনে, সে নির্ভয়ে বাস করবে, নিরাপদে বিশ্রাম করবে, অমঙ্গলের ভয় থাকবে না।”
