Proverbs 3
1 My son, do not forget my commands and keep my teachings in your heart,
| پسرم، چیزهایی را که به تو آموخته‌ام هرگز فراموش نکن. اگر می‌خواهی زندگی خوب و طولانی داشته باشی، به دقت از دستورهای من پیروی کن. |
2 for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
3 Do not let covenant faithfulness and trustworthiness ever leave you, tie them together about your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
| محبت و راستی را هرگز فراموش نکن بلکه آنها را بر گردنت بیاویز و بر صفحهٔ دلت بنویس، |
4 Then you will find favor and a good reputation in the sight of God and man.
| اگر چنین کنی هم خدا از تو راضی خواهد بود هم انسان. |
5 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding;
| با تمام دل خود به خداوند اعتماد کن و بر عقل خود تکیه منما. |
6 in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.
| در هر کاری که انجام می‌دهی خدا را در نظر داشته باش و او در تمام کارهایت تو را موفق خواهد ساخت. |
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear Yahweh and turn away from evil.
| به حکمت خود تکیه نکن بلکه از خداوند اطاعت نما و از بدی دوری کن، |
8 It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment for your body.
| و این مرهمی برای زخمهایت بوده، به تو سلامتی خواهد بخشید. |
9 Honor Yahweh with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce,
| از دارایی خود برای خداوند هدیه بیاور، نوبر محصولت را به او تقدیم نما و به این وسیله او را احترام کن. |
10 and your storehouses will be filled up and your vats will be bursting, full of new wine.
| آنگاه انبارهای تو پر از وفور نعمت خواهد شد و خمره‌هایت از شراب تازه لبریز خواهد گردید. |
11 My son, do not despise Yahweh's instruction and do not hate his rebuke,
| پسرم، نسبت به تأدیب خداوند بی‌اعتنا نباش، و هرگاه سرزنشت کند، ناراحت نشو. |
12 for Yahweh disciplines those he loves, as a father deals with a son who pleases him.
| زیرا خداوند کسی را تأدیب می‌کند که دوستش می‌دارد. همان‌طور که هر پدری پسر محبوب خود را تنبیه می‌کند تا او را اصلاح نماید، خداوند نیز تو را تأدیب و تنبیه می‌کند. |
13 The one who finds wisdom is blessed; he also gets understanding.
| خوشا به حال کسی که حکمت و بصیرت پیدا می‌کند؛ |
14 What you gain from wisdom is better than what silver will give in return and its profit is better than gold.
| زیرا یافتن آن از یافتن طلا و نقره، نیکوتر است! |
15 Wisdom is more precious than jewels and nothing you desire can compare to her.
| ارزش حکمت از جواهرات بیشتر است و آن را نمی‌توان با هیچ گنجی مقایسه کرد. |
16 She has length of days in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
| حکمت به انسان زندگی خوب و طولانی، ثروت و احترام می‌بخشد. |
17 Her ways are ways of kindness and all her paths are peace.
| حکمت زندگی تو را از خوشی و سلامتی لبریز می‌کند. |
18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of it, those who hold on to it are happy.
| خوشا به حال کسی که حکمت را به چنگ آورد، زیرا حکمت مانند درخت حیات است. |
19 By wisdom Yahweh founded the earth, by understanding he established the heavens.
| خداوند به حکمت خود زمین را بنیاد نهاد و به عقل خویش آسمان را برقرار نمود. |
20 By his knowledge the depths broke open and the clouds dropped their dew.
| به علم خود چشمه‌ها را روی زمین جاری ساخت و از آسمان بر زمین باران بارانید. |
21 My son, keep sound judgment and discernment, and do not lose sight of them.
| پسرم، حکمت و بصیرت را نگاه دار و هرگز آنها را از نظر خود دور نکن؛ |
22 They will be life to your soul and an adornment of favor to wear around your neck.
| زیرا آنها به تو زندگی و عزت خواهند بخشید، |
23 Then you will walk on your way in safety and your foot will not stumble;
| و تو در امنیت خواهی بود و در راهی که می‌روی هرگز نخواهی لغزید؛ |
24 when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
| با خیال راحت و بدون ترس خواهی خوابید؛ |
25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror or devastation caused by the wicked, when it comes,
| از بلایی که به طور ناگهانی بر بدکاران نازل می‌شود، نخواهی ترسید، |
26 for Yahweh will be on your side and will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.
| زیرا خداوند تو را حفظ کرده، نخواهد گذاشت در دام بلا گرفتار شوی. |
27 Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.
| اگر می‌توانی به داد کسی که محتاج است برسی، کمک خود را از او دریغ مدار. |
28 Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give it,” when you have the money with you.
| هرگز به همسایه‌ات مگو: «برو فردا بیا»، اگر همان موقع می‌توانی به او کمک کنی. |
29 Do not make a plan to harm your neighbor— the one who lives close and trusts you.
| علیه همسایه‌ات که با خیال راحت در جوار تو زندگی می‌کند توطئه نکن. |
30 Do not argue with a person without a reason, when he has done nothing to harm you.
| با کسی که به تو بدی نکرده است بی‌جهت دعوا نکن. |
31 Do not envy a violent person or choose any of his ways.
| به اشخاص ظالم حسادت نکن و از راه و روش آنها پیروی ننما، |
32 For the devious person is detestable to Yahweh, but he brings the upright person into his confidence.
| زیرا خداوند از اشخاص کجرو نفرت دارد، اما به درستکاران اعتماد می‌کند. |
33 The curse of Yahweh is on the house of the wicked person, but he blesses the home of righteous people.
| لعنت خداوند بر بدکاران است، اما برکت و رحمت او شامل حال درستکاران می‌باشد. |
34 He mocks mockers, but he gives his favor to humble people.
| خداوند مسخره‌کنندگان را مسخره می‌کند، اما به فروتنان فیض می‌بخشد. |
35 Wise people inherit honor, but fools will be lifted up in their shame.
| دانایان از عزت و احترام برخوردار خواهند گردید، ولی نادانان رسوا خواهند شد. |
