Proverbs 29

1 A person who has received many rebukes but who stiffens his neck will be broken in a moment beyond healing.

۱ کسی‌که بعد از تنبیه بسیار گردنکشی می کند، ناگهان منکسر خواهد شد وعلاجی نخواهد بود.

2 When righteous people increase, the people rejoice, but when a wicked person is the ruler, the people sigh.

۲ چون عادلان افزوده گردند قوم شادی می‌کنند، اما چون شریران تسلط یابند مردم ناله می‌نمایند.

3 Whoever loves wisdom makes his father rejoice, but he who keeps company with prostitutes destroys his wealth.

۳ کسی‌که حکمت را دوست دارد پدر خویش را مسرور می‌سازد، اما کسی‌که با فاحشه هامعاشرت کند اموال را تلف می‌نماید.

4 The king establishes the land by justice, but the one who demands bribes tears it down.

۴ پادشاه ولایت را به انصاف پایدار می‌کند، امامرد رشوه خوار آن را ویران می‌سازد.

5 A man who flatters his neighbor is spreading a net for his feet.

۵ شخصی که همسایه خود را چاپلوسی می‌کند دام برای پایهایش می‌گستراند.

6 In the sin of an evil person is a trap, but the righteous person sings and rejoices.

۶ در معصیت مرد شریر دامی است، اما عادل ترنم و شادی خواهد نمود.

7 The righteous person knows the rights of the poor; the wicked person does not understand such knowledge.

۷ مرد عادل دعوی فقیر را درک می‌کند، اماشریر برای دانستن آن فهم ندارد.

8 Mockers set a city on fire, but those who are wise turn away wrath.

۸ استهزاکنندگان شهر را به آشوب می‌آورند، اما حکیمان خشم را فرومی نشانند.

9 When a wise person has an argument with a fool, he rages and laughs, and there will be no rest.

۹ اگر مرد حکیم با احمق دعوی دارد، خواه غضبناک شود خواه بخندد او را راحت نخواهد بود.

10 The bloodthirsty hate the one who is blameless and seek the life of the upright.

۱۰ مردان خون ریز از مرد کامل نفرت دارند، اما راستان سلامتی جان او را طالبند.

11 A fool reveals all his anger, but a wise man holds it back and calms himself down.

۱۱ احمق تمامی خشم خود را ظاهر می‌سازد، اما مرد حکیم به تاخیر آن را فرومی نشاند.

12 If a ruler pays attention to lies, all his officials will be wicked.

۱۲ حاکمی که به سخنان دروغ گوش گیرد، جمیع خادمانش شریر خواهند شد.

13 The poor person and the oppressor are similar, for Yahweh gives light to the eyes of them both.

۱۳ فقیر و ظالم با هم جمع خواهند شد، وخداوند چشمان هر دوی ایشان را روشن خواهدساخت.

14 If a king judges the poor by the truth, his throne will be established forever.

۱۴ پادشاهی که مسکینان را به راستی داوری نماید، کرسی وی تا به ابد پایدار خواهد ماند.

15 The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child freed from discipline puts his mother to shame.

۱۵ چوب و تنبیه، حکمت می‌بخشد، اماپسری که بی‌لگام باشد، مادر خود را خجل خواهد ساخت.

16 When wicked people are in power, transgression increases, but righteous people will see the downfall of those wicked people.

۱۶ چون شریران افزوده شوند تقصیر زیاده می‌گردد، اما عادلان، افتادن ایشان را خواهند دید.

17 Discipline your son and he will give you rest; he will bring delights into your life.

۱۷ پسر خود را تادیب نما که تو را راحت خواهد رسانید، و به‌جان تو لذات خواهدبخشید.

18 Where there is no prophetic vision the people run wild, but the one who keeps the law is blessed.

۱۸ جایی که رویا نیست قوم گردنکش می‌شوند، اما خوشابحال کسی‌که شریعت را نگاه می‌دارد.

19 A slave will not be corrected by words, for though he understands, there will be no response.

۱۹ خادم، محض سخن متنبه نمی شود، زیرااگر‌چه بفهمد اجابت نمی نماید.

20 See a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

۲۰ آیا کسی را می‌بینی که در سخن‌گفتن عجول است، امید بر احمق زیاده است از امید براو.

21 One who pampers his slave from youth, at the end of it there will be trouble.

۲۱ هر‌که خادم خود را از طفولیت به نازمی پرورد، آخر پسر او خواهد شد.

22 An angry person stirs up strife and a master of rage commits many sins.

۲۲ مرد تندخو نزاع برمی انگیزاند، و شخص کج خلق در تقصیر می‌افزاید.

23 A person's pride brings him low, but one who has a humble spirit will be given honor.

۲۳ تکبر شخص او را پست می‌کند، اما مردحلیم دل، به جلال خواهد رسید.

24 One who shares with a thief hates his own life; he hears the curse and says nothing.

۲۴ هر‌که با دزد معاشرت کند خویشتن رادشمن دارد، زیرا که لعنت می‌شنود و اعتراف نمی نماید.

25 The fear of man makes a snare, but the one who trusts in Yahweh will be protected.

۲۵ ترس از انسان دام می‌گستراند، اما هر‌که برخداوند توکل نماید سرافراز خواهد شد.

26 Many are those who seek the face of the ruler, but from Yahweh is justice for a person.

۲۶ بسیاری لطف حاکم را می‌طلبند، اماداوری انسان از جانب خداوند است.

27 An unjust man is an abomination to righteous people, but the one whose way is upright is detestable to the wicked person.

۲۷ مرد ظالم نزد عادلان مکروه است، و هر‌که در طریق، مستقیم است نزد شریران مکروه می‌باشد.
