< Proverbs 24 >

1 Do not be envious of those who are evil, nor desire to associate with them,
Saanmo nga ap-apalan dagiti dakes, wenno saanmo a tarigagayan ti makikadua kadakuada,
2 because their hearts plot violence and their lips talk about trouble.
gapu ta agpangpanggep dagiti pusoda kadagiti rinaranggas, ken agibagbaga dagiti bibigda iti maipanggep iti riribuk.
3 Through wisdom a house is built and by understanding it is established.
Babaen iti kinasirib, adda maipatakder a balay, ken babaen iti pannakaawat, naipasdek daytoy.
4 By knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
Babaen iti pannakaammo, napunno dagiti siled kadagiti agkakapateg ken agkakapintas a kinabaknang.
5 A warrior of wisdom is strong, and a man of knowledge increases his strength;
Paneknekan ti masirib a tao a napigsa isuna, ken nasaysayaat ti tao nga addaan iti pannakaammo ngem iti tao a napigsa,
6 for by wise direction you can wage your war and with many advisors there is victory.
ta babaen kadagiti nainsiriban a wagas ket mapagballigiam ti pannakigubatmo, ken adda balligi babaen kadagiti adu a mammagbaga.
7 Wisdom is too high for a fool; in the gate he does not open his mouth.
Ti kinasirib ket nangato unay para iti maag, saanna nga ilukat ti ngiwatna kadagiti ruangan.
8 There is one who plans to do evil— people call him a master of schemes.
Adda maysa a tao nga agpangpanggep nga agaramid iti dakes-nalaing nga agaramid iti linuloko ti iyaw-awag kenkuana dagiti tattao.
9 A foolish plan is sin and men despise a mocker.
Ti minamaag a panggep ket basol, ken um-umsien dagiti tattao ti mananglais.
10 If you become weak with fear in the day of trouble, then your strength is small.
No ipakpakitam ti kinatakrutmo iti aldaw ti riribuk, nakapuyka ngarud.
11 Rescue those who are being taken away to death and hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter.
Ispalem dagiti maipanpanaw maiyap-apan iti ipapatay, ken tenglem dagiti agibar-ibar nga agturong iti pannakatayda.
12 If you say, “Behold, we knew nothing about this,” does not the one who weighs the heart understand what you are saying? The one who guards your life, does he not know it? Will God not give to each one what he deserves?
No ibagam, “Awan ammomi maipanggep iti daytoy.” Saan kadi nga ammo ti Mangtimtimbang iti puso ti ibagbagam? Ken saan kadi nga ammo daytoy ti Mangsalsalaknib iti biagmo? Ken saan kadi nga itedto ti Dios no ania ti maikari iti tunggal maysa?
13 My son, eat honey because it is good, because the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste.
Anakko, manganka iti diro gapu ta nasayaat daytoy, gapu ta ti tedted ti diro ket nasam-it iti panagramanmo.
14 Such is wisdom for your soul— if you find it, there will be a future and your hope will not be cut off.
Kasta met ti kinasirib para iti kararuam- no birukem daytoy, addanto masakbayan ken saanto a mapukaw ti namnamam.
15 Do not lie in wait like the wicked person who attacks the house of the righteous person. Do not destroy his home!
Saanka nga aglemmeng nga aguray a kas kadagiti nadangkes a tattao a mangdarup iti balay dagiti agar-aramid iti nalinteg. Saanmo a dadaelen ti pagtaenganna!
16 For the righteous person falls down seven times and rises again, but wicked people are brought down by calamity.
Ta no matuang a maminpito ti tao nga agar-aramid ti nalinteg, bumangonto manen isuna, ngem dagiti nadangkes ket parmeken ti didigra.
17 Do not celebrate when your enemy falls and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles,
Saanka nga agrambak no marigrigatan ti kabusormo, ken saan koma nga aragsak ta pusom no maitublak isuna,
18 or Yahweh will see and disapprove and turn away his wrath from him.
ta no saan ket makita ni Yahweh ken amangan no saannaka a kanunongan gapu iti dayta ket saannan a kapungtot dayta a tao.
19 Do not worry because of evildoers, and do not envy wicked people,
Saanka nga agdanag gapu kadagiti agar-aramid kadagiti dakes a banbanag, ken saanmo nga apalan dagiti nadangkes a tattao,
20 for the evil person has no future and the lamp of wicked people will go out.
ta awan masakbayan ti dakes a tao, ken arigna a maiddepto ti lampara ti nadangkes.
21 Fear Yahweh, and fear the king, my son; do not associate with those who rebel against them,
Agbutengka kenni Yahweh, ken agbutengka iti ari, anakko; saanka a makikadua kadagiti mangsuksukir kadakuada,
22 for suddenly their disaster will come and who knows the extent of the destruction that will come from both of them?
ta giddatonto a dumteng ti didigrada ket siasino ti makaammo iti kadakkel ti pannakadadael a dumteng manipud kadakuada?
23 These also are sayings of the wise. Partiality in judging a case at law is not good.
Dagitoy ket sasao met laeng dagiti masirib. No maipapan iti linteg, saan a nasayaat no adda panangidumduma iti panangukom.
24 Whoever says to the wicked person, “You are a righteous person,” will be cursed by peoples and hated by nations.
Siasinoman a mangibaga iti nagbasol, “Sika ti husto,” ket ilunodto dagiti tattao ken guraento dagiti nasion.
25 But those who discipline the wicked will have delight and gifts of goodness will come to them.
Ngem maaddaanto iti kasta unay a ragsak dagiti mangtubngar kadagiti nadangkes, ken addanto dumteng kadakuada a sagsagut a nasasayaat.
26 The one who gives an honest answer gives a kiss on the lips.
Ti mangmangted iti pudno a sungbat ket arigna a mangmangted iti agek iti bibig.
27 Prepare your outdoor work, and make everything ready for yourself in the field; after that, build your house.
Aramidem ti trabahom iti ruar, samo isagana ti talon; kalpasan dayta, ipatakdermon ti balaymo.
28 Do not bear witness against your neighbor without cause and do not deceive with your lips.
Saanka nga agsaksi iti maibusor iti kaarubam nga awan ti gapgapuna, ken saanka a mangallilaw babaen kadagiti bibigmo.
29 Do not say, “I will do to him what he has done to me; I will pay him back for what he has done.”
Saanmo nga ibaga, “Aramidekto kenkuana ti inaramidna kaniak; pagbayadekto isuna iti inaramidna.”
30 I went by the field of a lazy man, past the vineyard of the man having no sense.
Nagnaak iti talon ti tao a sadut, limmabasak iti kaubasan ti tao nga awan ammona.
31 Thorns had grown up everywhere, the ground was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down.
Nagtubtuboanen dagiti sisiit ti talonna, naabbonganen ti daga kadagiti siitan a mula, ken narban ti bato nga aladna.
32 Then I saw and considered it; I looked and received instruction.
Kalpasanna, nakitak ket pinanunotko; kimmitaak ket nakasursuroak.
33 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—
Maturog pay bassit, iridep pay bassit, idalikepkep pay biit tapno makainana-
34 and poverty comes marching upon you, and your needs like an armed soldier.
ket dumteng kenka ti kinapanglaw a kas iti agtatakaw, ken dumteng kenka dagiti panagkasapulam a kasla dagitoy ket nakaarmas a soldado.
