Proverbs 15
1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Eine linde Antwort stillet den Zorn; aber ein hart Wort richtet Grimm an.
2 The tongue of wise people compliments knowledge, but the mouth of fools pours out folly.
Der Weisen Zunge macht die Lehre lieblich; der Narren Mund speiet eitel Narrheit.
3 The eyes of Yahweh are everywhere, keeping watch over the evil and the good.
Die Augen des HERRN schauen an allen Orten beide, die Bösen und Frommen.
4 A healing tongue is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.
Eine heilsame Zunge ist ein Baum des Lebens; aber eine lügenhaftige macht Her
5 A fool has contempt for his father's instruction, but he who learns from correction is prudent.
Der Narr lästert die Zucht seines Vaters; wer aber Strafe annimmt, der wird klug werden.
6 In the house of the righteous person there is great treasure, but the earnings of the wicked person give him trouble.
In des Gerechten Hause ist Guts genug aber in dem Einkommen des Gottlosen ist Verderben.
7 The lips of wise people scatter knowledge about, but not so the hearts of fools.
Der Weisen Mund streuet guten Rat; aber der Narren Herz ist nicht also.
8 Yahweh hates the sacrifices of wicked people, but the prayer of upright people is his delight.
Der Gottlosen Opfer ist dem HERRN ein Greuel; aber das Gebet der Frommen ist ihm angenehm.
9 Yahweh hates the way of wicked people, but he loves the one who pursues what is right.
Des Gottlosen Weg ist dem HERRN ein Greuel; wer aber der Gerechtigkeit nachjagt, der wird geliebet.
10 Harsh discipline awaits anyone who forsakes the way and he who hates correction will die.
Das ist eine böse Zucht, den Weg verlassen; und wer die Strafe hasset, der muß sterben.
11 Sheol and destruction are open before Yahweh; how much more the hearts of the sons of mankind? (Sheol h7585)
Hölle und Verderbnis ist vor dem HERRN; wie viel mehr der Menschen Herzen! (Sheol h7585)
12 The mocker resents correction; he will not go to the wise.
Der Spötter liebt nicht, der ihn straft, und gehet nicht zu den Weisen.
13 A joyful heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.
Ein fröhlich Herz macht ein fröhlich Angesicht; aber wenn das Herz bekümmert ist, so fällt auch der Mut.
14 The heart of the discerning seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on folly.
Ein kluges Herz handelt bedächtiglich; aber die kühnen Narren regieren närrisch.
15 All the days of oppressed people are miserable, but a cheerful heart has an unending feast.
Ein Betrübter hat nimmer keinen guten Tag; aber ein guter Mut ist ein täglich Wohlleben.
16 Better is little with the fear of Yahweh than great treasure with confusion.
Es ist besser ein wenig mit der Furcht des HERRN denn großer Schatz, darin Unruhe ist.
17 Better is a meal with vegetables where there is love than a fatted calf served with hatred.
Es ist besser ein Gericht Kraut mit Liebe denn ein gemästeter Ochse mit Haß.
18 An angry man stirs up arguments, but a person who is slow to anger quiets a quarrel.
Ein zorniger Mann richtet Hader an; ein Geduldiger aber stillet den Zank.
19 The path of the sluggard is like a place with a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a built-up highway.
Der Weg des Faulen ist dornig; aber der Weg der Frommen ist wohl gebahnet.
20 A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish person despises his mother.
Ein weiser Sohn erfreuet den Vater; und ein närrischer Mensch ist seiner Mutter Schande.
21 Folly delights a person who lacks sense, but the one who has understanding walks a straight path.
Dem Toren ist die Torheit eine Freude; aber ein verständiger Mann bleibt auf dem rechten Wege.
22 Plans go wrong where there is no advice, but with numerous advisors they succeed.
Die Anschläge werden zunichte, wo nicht Rat ist; wo aber viel Ratgeber sind, bestehen sie.
23 A person finds joy when he gives a pertinent reply; how good is a timely word!
Es ist einem eine Freude, wo man ihm richtig antwortet; und ein Wort zu seiner Zeit ist sehr lieblich.
24 The path of life leads upward for prudent people, that they may turn away from Sheol beneath. (Sheol h7585)
Der Weg des Lebens gehet überwärts klug zu machen, auf daß man meide die Hölle unterwärts. (Sheol h7585)
25 Yahweh tears down the house of the proud, but he protects the property of the widow.
Der HERR wird das Haus der Hoffärtigen zerbrechen und die Grenze der Witwen bestätigen.
26 Yahweh hates the thoughts of wicked people, but the words of kindness are pure.
Die Anschläge des Argen sind dem HERRN ein Greuel; aber tröstlich reden die Reinen.
27 The robber brings trouble to his family, but the one who hates bribes will live.
Der Geizige verstöret sein eigen Haus; wer aber Geschenk hasset, der wird leben.
28 The heart of the righteous person ponders before it answers, but the mouth of wicked people pours out all its evil.
Das Herz des Gerechten dichtet, was zu antworten ist; aber der Mund der Gottlosen schäumet Böses.
29 Yahweh is far away from wicked people, but he hears the prayer of righteous people.
Der HERR ist ferne von den Gottlosen; aber der Gerechten Gebet erhöret er.
30 The light of the eyes brings joy to the heart and good news is health to the body.
Freundlicher Anblick erfreuet das Herz; ein gut Gerücht macht das Gebeine fett.
31 If you pay attention when someone corrects how you live, you will remain among wise people.
Das Ohr, das da höret die Strafe des Lebens, wird unter den Weisen wohnen.
32 The one who rejects discipline despises himself, but he who listens to correction gains understanding.
Wer sich nicht ziehen läßt, der macht sich selbst zunichte; wer aber Strafe höret, der wird klug.
33 The fear of Yahweh teaches wisdom and humility comes before honor.
Die Furcht des HERRN ist Zucht zur Weisheit; und ehe man zu Ehren kommt, muß man zuvor leiden.
