< Proverbs 15 >
1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

2 The tongue of wise people compliments knowledge, but the mouth of fools pours out folly.

3 The eyes of Yahweh are everywhere, keeping watch over the evil and the good.
Yehowa ƒe ŋkuwo le afi sia afi eye eƒe ŋkuwo le ame vɔ̃ɖiwo kple ame nyuiwo siaa ŋu.
4 A healing tongue is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.
Aɖe si hea dɔyɔyɔ vɛ la nye agbeti, ke alakpaɖe gbãa gbɔgbɔ gudugudugudu.
5 A fool has contempt for his father's instruction, but he who learns from correction is prudent.
Bometsila doa vlo fofoa ƒe amehehe, ke ame si xɔa ɖɔɖɔɖo la, nunyalae.
6 In the house of the righteous person there is great treasure, but the earnings of the wicked person give him trouble.
Kesinɔnu gã aɖe nɔa aƒe me na nunyala, ke ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe hokpɔkpɔ hea dzɔgbevɔ̃e vɛ na wo.
7 The lips of wise people scatter knowledge about, but not so the hearts of fools.
Nunyalawo ƒe nuyiwo kakaa sidzedze, ke mele alea le bometsilawo ƒe dzi me o.
8 Yahweh hates the sacrifices of wicked people, but the prayer of upright people is his delight.
Yehowa léa fu ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe vɔsa, ke dzɔdzɔetɔwo ƒe gbedodoɖa dzea eŋu.
9 Yahweh hates the way of wicked people, but he loves the one who pursues what is right.
Yehowa léa fu ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe mɔ, ke elɔ̃a ame siwo tia dzɔdzɔenyenye yome la ƒe mɔ.
10 Harsh discipline awaits anyone who forsakes the way and he who hates correction will die.

11 Sheol and destruction are open before Yahweh; how much more the hearts of the sons of mankind? (Sheol )

12 The mocker resents correction; he will not go to the wise.
Fewuɖula tsri nyagbename eya ta mabia aɖaŋu le nunyalawo gbɔ o.
13 A joyful heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.
Dzi si me dzidzɔ le la nana mo klẽna, gake dzi si le veve sem la gbãa gbɔgbɔ gudugudugudu.
14 The heart of the discerning seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on folly.
Dzi si si sidzedze su la dia gɔmesese gake bometsitsi zua nuɖuɖu na bometsila ƒe nu.
15 All the days of oppressed people are miserable, but a cheerful heart has an unending feast.
Ame siwo wole fu wɔmii la ƒe ŋkekewo katã nye vɔ̃ gake dzi si me dzidzɔ le la tua aglo atraɖii.
16 Better is little with the fear of Yahweh than great treasure with confusion.
Nu sue si ŋu Yehowavɔvɔ̃ kpe ɖo la nyo wu kesinɔnu geɖe si ŋu dzimaɖeɖi le.
17 Better is a meal with vegetables where there is love than a fatted calf served with hatred.
Amagbenuɖuɖu si ŋu lɔlɔ̃ kpe ɖo la nyo wu nyivi dami ɖuɖu si ŋu fuléle kpe ɖo.
18 An angry man stirs up arguments, but a person who is slow to anger quiets a quarrel.
Dɔmedzoetɔ hea mama vɛ, ke dzigbɔɖitɔ tsia dzre nu.
19 The path of the sluggard is like a place with a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a built-up highway.
Ŋuwo le kuviatɔ ƒe mɔ dzi, ke dzɔdzɔetɔ ƒe mɔ nye mɔtata.
20 A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish person despises his mother.
Viŋutsu nunyala hea dzidzɔ vɛ na fofoa, ke bometsila doa vlo dadaa.
21 Folly delights a person who lacks sense, but the one who has understanding walks a straight path.
Bometsinuwɔwɔ doa dzidzɔ na ame manyanu, ke nugɔmesela léa mɔ ɖeka tsɔna.
22 Plans go wrong where there is no advice, but with numerous advisors they succeed.
Ɖoɖowo me gblẽna ne aɖaŋudede meli o, ke ne aɖaŋuɖolawo li fũu la, wokpɔa dzidzedze.
23 A person finds joy when he gives a pertinent reply; how good is a timely word!
Nyaŋuɖoɖo ɖe nunya me doa dzidzɔ na ame eye aleke nya si wogblɔ le egblɔɣi la mehenyoe o?
24 The path of life leads upward for prudent people, that they may turn away from Sheol beneath. (Sheol )
Nunyalawo ƒe agbemɔ ɖo ta dzi, be wòakpe ɖe eŋu magaɖiɖi ayi ɖe tsiẽƒe o. (Sheol )
25 Yahweh tears down the house of the proud, but he protects the property of the widow.
Yehowa gbãa dadalawo ƒe aƒe ƒua anyi, ke enana ahosiwo ƒe liƒo nɔa anyi pɛpɛpɛ.
26 Yahweh hates the thoughts of wicked people, but the words of kindness are pure.
Yehowa léa fu ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe tameɖoɖo, ke ame siwo dza la tɔ ya doa dzidzɔ nɛ.
27 The robber brings trouble to his family, but the one who hates bribes will live.
Ŋuklẽla hea fukpekpe vaa eƒe aƒe dzi, ke ame si lé fu zãnuxɔxɔ la anɔ agbe.
28 The heart of the righteous person ponders before it answers, but the mouth of wicked people pours out all its evil.
Ame dzɔdzɔe ƒe dzi daa eƒe nyaŋuɖoɖowo kpɔ, ke nu vɔ̃ɖi doa go tso ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe nu me bababa.
29 Yahweh is far away from wicked people, but he hears the prayer of righteous people.
Yehowa le adzɔge na ame vɔ̃ɖiwo, ke esea ame dzɔdzɔewo ƒe gbedodoɖa.
30 The light of the eyes brings joy to the heart and good news is health to the body.
Mo si kɔ la doa dzidzɔ na dzi, eye nya nyui dea agbe ƒuwo me.
31 If you pay attention when someone corrects how you live, you will remain among wise people.
Ame si ɖoa to mokaname si hea agbe vɛ la, ƒe dzi adze eme le nunyalawo dome.
32 The one who rejects discipline despises himself, but he who listens to correction gains understanding.
Ame si doa toku amehehe la, doa vlo eɖokui, ke ame si xɔa mokaname la gɔmesese sua esi.
33 The fear of Yahweh teaches wisdom and humility comes before honor.
Yehowavɔvɔ̃ fiaa nunya ame eye ɖokuibɔbɔ doa ŋgɔ na bubu.
