< Proverbs 13 >

1 A wise son hears his father's instruction, but a mocker will not listen to rebuke.
Мудар син слуша наставу оца свог; а подсмевач не слуша укоре.
2 From the fruit of his mouth a person enjoys good things, but the appetite of the treacherous is for violence.
Од плода уста својих сваки ће јести добро, а душа неваљалих људи насиље.
3 The one who guards his mouth protects his life, but the one who opens wide his lips will ruin himself.
Ко чува уста своја, чува своју душу; ко разваљује усне, пропада.
4 The appetite of lazy people craves but gets nothing, but the appetite of diligent people will be richly satisfied.
Жељна је душа лењивчева, али нема ништа; а душа вредних људи обогатиће се.
5 The righteous person hates lies, but a wicked person makes himself repugnant, and he does what is shameful.
На лажну реч мрзи праведник; а безбожник се мрази и срамоти.
6 Righteousness protects those who are faultless in their path, but wickedness turns away those who commit sin.
Правда чува оног који ходи безазлено; а безбожност обара грешника.
7 There is someone who enriches himself, but has nothing at all, and there is someone who gives everything away, yet is truly wealthy.
Има ко се гради богат а нема ништа, и ко се гради сиромах а има велико благо.
8 The ransom of a rich man's life is his wealth, but a poor person does not hear a threat.
Откуп је за живот човеку богатство његово, а сиромах не слуша претње.
9 The light of righteous people rejoices, but the lamp of wicked people will be put out.
Видело праведничко светли се, а жижак безбожнички угасиће се.
10 Pride only breeds conflict, but for those who listen to good advice there is wisdom.
Од охолости бива само свађа, а који примају савет, у њих је мудрост.
11 Wealth dwindles away when there is too much vanity, but the one who makes money by working with his hand will make his money grow.
Благо које се таштином тече умањује се, а ко сабира руком, умножава.
12 When hope is postponed, it breaks the heart, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Дуго надање мори срце, и жеља је испуњена дрво животно.
13 Whoever despises instruction brings destruction on himself, but he who respects the commandment will be rewarded.
Ко презире реч сам себи уди; а ко се боји заповести, платиће му се.
14 The teaching of a wise person is a fountain of life, turning you away from the snares of death.
Наука је мудрога извор животни да се сачува пругала смртних.
15 Good insight wins favor, but the way of the treacherous is never-ending.
Добар разум даје љубав, а пут је безаконички храпав.
16 Prudent people act out of knowledge in every decision, but a fool parades his folly.
Сваки паметан човек ради с разумом, а безуман разноси безумље.
17 A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a faithful envoy brings reconciliation.
Гласник безбожан пада у зло, а веран је посланик лек.
18 The one who ignores instruction will have poverty and shame, but honor will come to him who learns from correction.
Сиромаштво и срамота доћи ће на оног који одбацује наставу; а ко чува карање, прославиће се.
19 A longing realized is sweet to the appetite, but fools hate to turn away from evil.
Испуњена је жеља сласт души, а безумнима је мрско одступити ода зла.
20 Walk with wise people and you will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
Ко ходи с мудрима постаје мудар, а ко се држи с безумницима постаје гори.
21 Disaster runs after sinners, but righteous people are rewarded with good.
Грешнике гони зло, а праведницима се враћа добро.
22 A good person leaves an inheritance for his grandchildren, but a sinner's wealth is stored up for the righteous person.
Добар човек оставља наследство синовима синова својих, а грешниково имање чува се праведнику.
23 An unplowed field owned by the poor could produce much food, but it is swept away by injustice.
Изобила хране има на њиви сиромашкој, а има ко пропада са зле управе.
24 The one who does not discipline his son hates him, but one who loves his son is careful to instruct him.
Ко жали прут, мрзи на сина свог; а ко га љуби, кара га за времена.
25 The righteous person eats until he satisfies his appetite, but the stomach of the wicked is always hungry.
Праведник једе, и сита му је душа; а трбух безбожницима нема доста.
