< Proverbs 13 >
1 A wise son hears his father's instruction, but a mocker will not listen to rebuke.
Mwana mayele ayokaka mateya ya tata na ye, kasi mwana oyo atiolaka ayokaka pamela te.
2 From the fruit of his mouth a person enjoys good things, but the appetite of the treacherous is for violence.
Mbuma ya monoko eleisaka moto bilei ya malamu, kasi molimo ya moto oyo atambolaka na bosembo te ememaka na mobulu.
3 The one who guards his mouth protects his life, but the one who opens wide his lips will ruin himself.
Moto oyo abatelaka monoko na ye abatelaka molimo na ye, kasi moto oyo afungolaka monoko na ye makasi akosuka na libebi.
4 The appetite of lazy people craves but gets nothing, but the appetite of diligent people will be richly satisfied.
Moto ya goyigoyi ayokaka baposa, kasi akoki kokokisa yango te; nzokande baposa ya moto ya nzunzu ekokisamaka.
5 The righteous person hates lies, but a wicked person makes himself repugnant, and he does what is shameful.
Moto ya sembo ayinaka maloba ya lokuta, kasi moto mabe amiyinisaka mpe apanzaka soni.
6 Righteousness protects those who are faultless in their path, but wickedness turns away those who commit sin.
Bosembo ebatelaka moto oyo atambolaka alima na nzela na ye, kasi mabe ebebisaka bongo ya moto ya masumu.
7 There is someone who enriches himself, but has nothing at all, and there is someone who gives everything away, yet is truly wealthy.
Ezali na moto moko oyo asalaka makambo lokola mozwi, nzokande azali na ye ata na eloko moko te; mpe ezali na moto mosusu oyo asalaka makambo lokola mobola, nzokande azali na bozwi mingi.
8 The ransom of a rich man's life is his wealth, but a poor person does not hear a threat.
Bomengo ya mozwi ebatelaka bomoi na ye, kasi bato mabe batungisaka mobola te.
9 The light of righteous people rejoices, but the lamp of wicked people will be put out.
Pole ya bato ya sembo engengaka makasi, kasi mwinda ya bato mabe ekufaka.
10 Pride only breeds conflict, but for those who listen to good advice there is wisdom.
Lolendo ememaka kaka na koswana, kasi bato oyo bayokaka toli bazwaka bwanya.
11 Wealth dwindles away when there is too much vanity, but the one who makes money by working with his hand will make his money grow.
Bomengo oyo ezwami na lombangu mpe na nzela ya mabe esilaka noki, kasi bomengo oyo babakisaka na moke-moke ekomaka ebele.
12 When hope is postponed, it breaks the heart, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Elikya oyo ekokisami te epesaka bokono na motema, kasi posa oyo ekokisami ezali nzete ya bomoi.
13 Whoever despises instruction brings destruction on himself, but he who respects the commandment will be rewarded.
Moto oyo atiolaka liloba amiyokisaka pasi, kasi moto oyo atosaka malako akozwa lifuti.
14 The teaching of a wise person is a fountain of life, turning you away from the snares of death.
Mateya ya moto ya bwanya ezali etima ya bomoi, ekangolaka na mitambo ya kufa.
15 Good insight wins favor, but the way of the treacherous is never-ending.
Boyebi ememelaka bato ngolu, kasi nzela ya bato oyo babukaka mibeko ezalaka pasi.
16 Prudent people act out of knowledge in every decision, but a fool parades his folly.
Moto ya mayele asalaka makambo kolanda boyebi, kasi zoba, atandaka bozoba na ye.
17 A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a faithful envoy brings reconciliation.
Motindami ya mabe akweyaka kati na pasi, kasi motindami ya sembo amemaka lobiko.
18 The one who ignores instruction will have poverty and shame, but honor will come to him who learns from correction.
Bobola mpe soni ekomelaka bato oyo baboyaka koyekola, kasi moto oyo andimaka pamela akozwa lokumu.
19 A longing realized is sweet to the appetite, but fools hate to turn away from evil.
Posa oyo ekokisami esalaka esengo na motema, kasi kokabwana na mabe ezali likambo ya nkele na miso ya zoba.
20 Walk with wise people and you will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
Moto oyo asanganaka na bato ya bwanya akomaka moto ya bwanya, kasi moto oyo atambolaka nzela moko na bazoba akomona pasi.
21 Disaster runs after sinners, but righteous people are rewarded with good.
Mabe elandaka bato ya masumu, kasi bolamu ezali lifuti ya bato ya sembo.
22 A good person leaves an inheritance for his grandchildren, but a sinner's wealth is stored up for the righteous person.
Moto oyo asalaka bolamu atikelaka bakitani na ye libula, kasi bomengo ya moto ya masumu ebombamaka mpo na moyengebene.
23 An unplowed field owned by the poor could produce much food, but it is swept away by injustice.
Bilanga ya mobola ekoki kobotela ye bilei ebele, kasi ezali na bato oyo bazali kobeba mpo na kozanga bosembo.
24 The one who does not discipline his son hates him, but one who loves his son is careful to instruct him.
Moto oyo aboyaka kobeta mwana na ye fimbu alingaka ye te, kasi moto oyo alingaka mwana na ye abetaka ye.
25 The righteous person eats until he satisfies his appetite, but the stomach of the wicked is always hungry.
Moyengebene aliaka mpe atondaka, kasi libumu ya moto mabe ezalaka na nzala.
