Philippians 4
1 Therefore, my beloved brothers whom I long for, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, beloved friends.
Itaque fratres mei charissimi, et desideratissimi, gaudium meum, et corona mea: sic state in Domino, charissimi:
2 I am pleading with Euodia, and I am pleading with Syntyche, be of the same mind in the Lord.
Evodiam rogo, et Syntycen deprecor idipsum sapere in Domino.
3 Yes, I ask you, my true companion, to help these women who labored with me in spreading the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.
Etiam rogo et te germane compar, adiuva illas, quae mecum laboraverunt in Evangelio cum Clemente, et ceteris adiutoribus meis, quorum nomina sunt in libro vitae.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice.
Gaudete in Domino semper: iterum dico gaudete.
5 Let your gentleness be known to all people. The Lord is near.
Modestia vestra nota sit omnibus hominibus: Dominus enim prope est.
6 Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God,
Nihil soliciti sitis: sed in omni oratione, et obsecratione, cum gratiarum actione petitiones vestrae innotescant apud Deum.
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Et pax Dei, quae exuperat omnem sensum, custodiat corda vestra, et intelligentias vestras in Christo Iesu.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is anything excellent, if there is anything to be praised, think about these things.
De cetero fratres, quaecumque sunt vera, quaecumque pudica, quaecumque iusta, quaecumque sancta, quaecumque amabilia, quaecumque bonae famae, siqua virtus, siqua laus disciplinae, haec cogitate.
9 The things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, do these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
Quae et didicistis, et accepistis, et audistis, et vidistis in me, haec agite: et Deus pacis erit vobiscum.
10 I greatly rejoice in the Lord because now at last you have renewed your concern for me. You had indeed been concerned for me before, but there was no opportunity for you to help.
Gavisus sum autem in Domino vehementer, quoniam tandem aliquando refloruistis pro me sentire, sicut et sentiebatis: occupati autem eratis.
11 I am not saying this because I am in need. For I have learned to be content in all circumstances.
Non quasi propter penuriam dico: ego enim didici, in quibus sum, sufficiens esse.
12 I know what it is to be poor, and I also know what it is to have plenty. In every way and in all things I have learned the secret of how to be well-fed or to be hungry, and how to have an abundance or to be in need.
Scio et humiliari, scio et abundare: (ubique et in omnibus institutus sum) et satiari, et esurire, et abundare, et penuriam pati.
13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
omnia possum in eo, qui me confortat.
14 However, you did well to share with me in my difficulties.
Verumtamen bene fecistis, communicantes tribulationi meae.
15 You Philippians know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church supported me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone.
Scitis autem et vos Philippenses, quod in principio Evangelii, quando profectus sum a Macedonia, nulla mihi Ecclesia communicavit in ratione dati et accepti, nisi vos soli:
16 Even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent help for my needs more than once.
quia et Thessalonicam semel et bis in usum mihi misistis.
17 It is not that I seek the gift. Instead, I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.
Non quia quaero datum, sed requiro fructum abundantem in ratione vestra.
18 I have received everything in full, and even more. I have been well-supplied now that I have received from Epaphroditus the things you sent. They are a sweet-smelling aroma, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God.
Habeo autem omnia, et abundo: repletus sum, acceptis ab Epaphrodito quae misistis in odorem suavitatis, hostiam acceptam, placentem Deo.
19 My God will meet all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Deus autem meus impleat omne desiderium vestrum secundum divitias suas in gloria in Christo Iesu.
Deo autem et Patri nostro gloria in saecula saeculorum: Amen. (aiōn g165)
21 Greet every believer in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you.
Salutate omnem sanctum in Christo Iesu.
22 All the believers here greet you, especially those of Caesar's household.
Salutant vos, qui mecum sunt, fratres. Salutant vos omnes sancti, maxime autem qui de Caesaris domo sunt.
23 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
Gratia Domini nostri Iesu Christi cum spiritu vestro. Amen.
