< Philemon 1 >

1 Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and the brother Timothy to Philemon, our dear friend and fellow worker,
Èmi Paulu, ẹni tí a fi sẹ́wọ̀n nítorí pé ó ń wàásù ìyìnrere Jesu Kristi àti Timotiu arákùnrin wa, Sí Filemoni ọ̀rẹ́ wa ọ̀wọ́n àti alábáṣiṣẹ́ wa,
2 and to Apphia our sister, and to Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church that meets in your home.
sí Affia arábìnrin wa, sí Arkippu ẹni tó jẹ́ jagunjagun fún àgbélébùú náà àti sí ìjọ àwọn Kristiani tí ó ń pàdé nínú ilé rẹ:
3 May grace be to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Oore-ọ̀fẹ́ fún un yín àti àlàáfíà láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run Baba wa àti Jesu Kristi.
4 I always thank my God. I mention you in my prayers.
Èmi máa ń dúpẹ́ lọ́wọ́ Ọlọ́run nígbà tí mo bá rántí rẹ nínú àdúrà mi,
5 I have heard of the love and the faith that you have in the Lord Jesus and for all the believers.
nítorí mo ń gbọ́ nípa ìgbàgbọ́ rẹ nínú Jesu Olúwa àti nípa ìfẹ́ rẹ sí àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́.
6 I pray that the fellowship of your faith may be effective for the knowledge of everything good that is among us in Christ.
Èmi ń gbàdúrà pé, bí ìwọ ti ń ṣe alábápín nínú ìgbàgbọ́ rẹ pẹ̀lú àwọn ẹlòmíràn, pé kí ìgbàgbọ́ náà lè mú ọkàn wọn dúró gbọingbọin, gẹ́gẹ́ bí wọn ti rí àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ ohun rere tí ó ń bẹ nínú ayé rẹ, èyí tí ó ti ọ̀dọ̀ Kristi wá.
7 For I have had much joy and comfort because of your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, brother.
Ìfẹ́ rẹ ti fún mi ní ayọ̀ púpọ̀ àti ìgboyà, nítorí ìwọ, arákùnrin ti tu ọkàn àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́ lára.
8 Therefore, although I have all the boldness in Christ to command you to do what you should do,
Nítorí náà, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé nínú Kristi mo ní ìgboyà púpọ̀ láti pàṣẹ ohun ti ó yẹ kí ó ṣe fún ọ,
9 yet because of love, I appeal to you instead—I, Paul, an old man, and now a prisoner for Christ Jesus.
síbẹ̀ nítorí ìfẹ́ èmí kúkú bẹ̀ ọ́. Èmi gẹ́gẹ́ bí Paulu, arúgbó, àti nísinsin yìí òǹdè Jesu Kristi.
10 I am asking you concerning my child Onesimus, whom I have fathered in my chains.
Èmí bẹ̀ ọ́ nítorí ọmọ mi Onesimu, ẹni tí ó di ọmọ nígbà tí mo wà nínú ìdè.
11 For he once was useless to you, but now he is useful both to you and to me.
Nígbà kan rí, kò wúlò fún ọ, ṣùgbọ́n ní báyìí, ó ti wúlò fún ọ àti fún èmi pàápàá.
12 I have sent him back to you, he who is my very heart.
Èmi rán an nísinsin yìí, àní ẹni ọkàn mi padà sí ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ.
13 I wish I could have kept him with me, so he could serve me for you, while I am in chains for the sake of the gospel.
Èmi ìbá fẹ́ láti dá a dúró sọ́dọ̀ mi níhìn-ín, kí ó ba à dípò rẹ láti máa ràn mí lọ́wọ́ nígbà tí mo wà nínú ìdè nítorí ìyìnrere
14 But I did not want to do anything without your consent. I did not want your good deed to be from necessity but from good will.
ṣùgbọ́n èmi kò fẹ́ ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀ rárá láìgba ìyọ̀ǹda ní ọwọ́ rẹ, kí oore tí ìwọ bá ṣe má ba à jẹ́ ìfipámúniṣe bí kò ṣe ìfìfẹ́ṣe.
15 Perhaps for this he was separated from you for a time, so that you might have him back forever. (aiōnios g166)
Bóyá ìdí rẹ̀ tí òun fi yẹra kúrò lọ́dọ̀ rẹ fún ìgbà díẹ̀ ni pé kí ìwọ kí ó lè gbà á padà sọ́dọ̀ títí láé. (aiōnios g166)
16 No longer would he be a slave, but better than a slave, a beloved brother. He is beloved especially to me, and much more so to you, in both the flesh and in the Lord.
Kì í wá ṣe bí ẹrú mọ́, ṣùgbọ́n bí ẹni ti ó sàn ju ẹrú lọ, gẹ́gẹ́ bí arákùnrin. Ó ṣọ̀wọ́n fún mi jọjọ, ṣùgbọ́n ó ṣọ̀wọ́n fún ọ jù nípa ti ara àti gẹ́gẹ́ bí arákùnrin nínú Olúwa.
17 So if you have me as a partner, receive him as me.
Nítorí náà bí ìwọ bá kà mí sí ẹlẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀, tẹ́wọ́ gbà á bí ìwọ yóò ti tẹ́wọ́ gbà mí.
18 If he has wronged you or owes you anything, charge that to me.
Bí ó bá ti ṣe ọ́ ní ibi kan tàbí jẹ ọ́ ní gbèsè ohun kan, kà á sí mi lọ́rùn.
19 I, Paul, write this with my own hand. I myself will pay it back—not to mention that you owe me your own self!
Èmi Paulu, ni mo fi ọwọ́ ara mi kọ ìwé yìí; èmi yóò san án padà láì tilẹ̀ ní í sọ nípa pé ìwọ pàápàá jẹ mi ní gbèsè ara rẹ.
20 Yes, brother, do me a favor in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ.
Èmi ń fẹ́ arákùnrin, pé kí èmi kí ó lè ni àǹfààní kan láti ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ nínú Olúwa; fi ayọ̀ rẹ kún ọkàn mi nínú Kristi.
21 Confident about your obedience, I am writing to you. I know that you will do even more than I ask.
Ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé ti mo ní pé ìwọ yóò gbọ́rọ̀, ni mo fi kọ ìwé yìí ránṣẹ́ sí ọ. Mo mọ̀ dájú pé ìwọ yóò ṣe ju bí mo ti béèrè lọ.
22 At the same time, prepare a guest room for me, for I hope that through your prayers I will be given back to you.
Ó ku ohun kan, ṣe ìtọ́jú iyàrá àlejò rẹ sílẹ̀ fún mi, nítorí mo ní ìgbàgbọ́ pé a óò tú mi sílẹ̀ fún yín ní ìdáhùn sí àdúrà yín.
23 Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, greets you.
Epafira, òǹdè ẹlẹgbẹ́ mi nínú Kristi Jesu kí ọ.
24 So do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.
Marku kí ọ pẹ̀lú Aristarku, Dema àti Luku, àwọn alábáṣiṣẹ́ mi.
25 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
