Numbers 36

1 Then the leaders of the ancestors' families of the clan of Gilead son of Machir (who was Manasseh's son), who were from the clans of the descendants of Joseph, came and spoke before Moses and before the leaders who were the heads of the ancestor's families of the people of Israel.

2 They said, “Yahweh commanded you, our master, to give a share of land by lot to the people of Israel. You were commanded by Yahweh to give the share of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.

e dissero: «Il Signore ha ordinato al mio signore di dare il paese in eredità agli Israeliti in base alla sorte; il mio signore ha anche ricevuto l'ordine da Dio di dare l'eredità di Zelofcad, nostro fratello, alle figlie di lui.

3 But if his daughters marry men in another tribe of the people of Israel, then their share of land will be removed from our ancestor's share. It will be added to the share of the tribes that they join. In that case, it will be removed from the assigned share of our inheritance.

Se queste si maritano a qualche figlio delle altre tribù degli Israeliti, la loro eredità sarà detratta dalla eredità dei nostri padri e aggiunta all'eredità della tribù nella quale esse saranno entrate; così sarà detratta dall'eredità che ci è toccata in sorte.

4 In that case, when the year of Jubilee of the people of Israel comes, then their share will be joined to the share of the tribe that they have joined. In this way, their share will be taken away from the share of our ancestors' tribe.”

Quando verrà il giubileo per gli Israeliti, la loro eredità sarà aggiunta a quella della tribù nella quale saranno entrate e l'eredità loro sarà detratta dalla eredità della tribù dei nostri padri».

5 So Moses gave a command to the people of Israel, at Yahweh's word. He said, “What the tribe of Joseph's descendants says is right.

Allora Mosè comunicò agli Israeliti quest'ordine ricevuto dal Signore: «La tribù dei figli di Giuseppe dice bene.

6 This is what Yahweh commands concerning Zelophehad's daughters. He says, 'Let them be married to whom they think best, but they must marry only within the family of their father's tribe.'

Questo il Signore ha ordinato riguardo alle figlie di Zelofcad: si mariteranno a chi vorranno, purché si maritino in una famiglia della tribù dei loro padri.

7 No share of the people of Israel must change from one tribe to another. Each one of the people of Israel must continue with the share of his ancestor's tribe.

Nessuna eredità tra gli Israeliti potrà passare da una tribù all'altra, ma ciascuno degli Israeliti si terrà vincolato all'eredità della tribù dei suoi padri.

8 Every woman of the people of Israel who owns a share in her tribe must marry someone from the clans belonging to her father's tribe. This is so that everyone of the people of Israel may own an inheritance from his ancestors.

Ogni fanciulla che possiede una eredità in una tribù degli Israeliti, si mariterà ad uno che appartenga ad una famiglia della tribù di suo padre, perché ognuno degli Israeliti rimanga nel possesso dell'eredità dei suoi padri

9 No share may change hands from one tribe to another. Everyone of the tribes of the people of Israel must keep his own inheritance.”

e nessuna eredità passi da una tribù all'altra; ognuna delle tribù degli Israeliti si terrà vincolata alla propria eredità».

10 So Zelophehad's daughters did as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

Le figlie di Zelofcad fecero secondo l'ordine che il Signore aveva dato a Mosè.

11 Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milkah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, married descendants of Manasseh.

Macla, Tirza, Ogla, Milca e Noa, le figlie di Zelofcad, sposarono i figli dei loro zii paterni;

12 They married into the clans of the descendants of Manasseh son of Joseph. In this way, their inheritances remained in the tribe to which their father's clan belonged.

si maritarono nelle famiglie dei figli di Manàsse, figlio di Giuseppe, e la loro eredità rimase nella tribù della famiglia del padre loro.

13 These are the commands and the decrees that Yahweh gave by Moses to the people of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

Questi sono i comandi e le leggi che il Signore diede agli Israeliti per mezzo di Mosè, nelle steppe di Moab, presso il Giordano di Gerico.
