< Numbers 32 >
1 Now the descendants of Reuben and of Gad had large numbers of livestock. When they saw the land of Jazer and Gilead, the land was a wonderful place for livestock.
Te vaengah Reuben ca rhoek te boiva muep om tih Gad ca taengah khaw ping uh khungdaeng. Te phoeiah Jazer khohmuen neh Gilead khohmuen te a sawt vaengah a hmuen khaw boiva hmuen la tarha a hmuhuh.
2 So the descendants of Gad and Reuben came and spoke to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the leaders of the community. They said,
Te dongah Gad koca rhoek neh Reuben koca rhoek te cet uh tih Moses taeng neh khosoih Eleazar taengah khaw, rhaengpuei khoboei rhoek taengah khaw a thui uh.
3 “This is a list of places we have surveyed: Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo, and Beon.
Te vaengah Ataroth neh Dibon, Jazer neh Nimrah, Heshbon neh Elealeh, Sibam, Nebo, Beon,
4 These are the lands that Yahweh attacked before the community of Israel, and they are good places for livestock. We, your servants, have a lot of livestock.”
Isreal rhaengpuei kah mikhmuh ah BOEIPA loh a ngawn khohmuen te boiva kah khohmuen tih na sal rhoek taengah khaw boiva om ta,” a ti uh.
5 They said, “If we have found favor in your eyes, let this land be given to us, your servants, as a possession. Do not make us cross over the Jordan.”
Te phoeiah, “Na mik ah mikdaithen ka hmuh atah he khohmuen he na sal rhoek taengah khohut la m'paek vetih Jordan te kaimih nam paan sak pawt mako,” a ti uh.
6 Moses replied to the descendants of Gad and Reuben, “Should your brothers go to war while you settle down here?
Tedae Moses loh Gad koca rhoek taeng neh Reuben koca rhoek taengah, “Nangmih hela na ngol uh vaengah na manuca rhoek tah caemtloek la cet uh saeh a?
7 Why discourage the hearts of the people of Israel from going over into the land that Yahweh has given them?
BOEIPA loh amih taengah a paek khohmuen la kat ham te balae tih Israel ca rhoek kah lungbuei he a khaban la na khaban uh.
8 Your fathers did the same thing when I sent them from Kadesh Barnea to examine the land.
Khohmuen sawt ham Kadeshbarnea lamloh amih ka tueih vaengah na pa rhoek loh he ni a. saii uh.
9 They went up to the Valley of Eshkol. They saw the land and then discouraged the hearts of the people of Israel so that they refused to enter the land that Yahweh had given them.
Eshkol soklong la cet uh tih khohmuen khaw a hmuh uh dae BOEIPA loh amih taengah a paek khohmuen la kun pawt ham Israel ca rhoek kah lungbuei te a khaban uh.
10 Yahweh's anger was kindled on that day. He took an oath and said,
Amah khohnin ah BOEIPA kah thintoek sai tih a toemngam.
11 'Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and up, will see the land about which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, because they have not completely followed me, except for

Kenizzi Jephunneh capa Kaleb neh Nun capa Joshua tah BOEIPA hnukah tlun rhoi.
13 So Yahweh's anger was kindled against Israel. He made them wander around in the wilderness for forty years until all the generation who had done evil in his sight was destroyed.
Te vaengah BOEIPA kah thintoek te Israel taengah sai tih BOEIPA mik ah boethae aka saii kah cadil boeih a cing hil amih te khosoek ah kum sawmli a poengdoe sak.
14 Look, you have risen up in your fathers' place, like just more sinful men, to add to Yahweh's burning anger toward Israel.
Israel taengah BOEIPA kah thintoek thinsa te koep khoengvoep ham ni na pa rhoek yueng hlangtholh hlang kah tahoengnah dongah na pai uh he.
15 If you turn away from following him, he will again leave Israel in the wilderness and you will have destroyed all this people.”
A hnuk lamloh na phael uh dongah khosoek ah amih tloeng ham koep a koei vetih he pilnam boeih he na mit uh bitni,” a ti nah.
16 So they came near Moses and said, “Allow us to build fences here for our cattle and cities for our families.
Te phoeiah a taengla mop uh tih, “Kaimih kah boiva ham boiva kah tanglung neh ka ca rhoek ham khopuei pahoi ka thoh uh mako.
17 However, we ourselves will be ready and armed to go with Israel's army until we have led them into their place. But our families will live in the fortified cities because of the other people who still live in this land.
Tedae amih te a hmuen la ka pawk uh hil tah kaimih he Israel ca mikhmuh ah tawn uh ham ka pumcum uh bitni. Te vaengah khohmuen kah khosa rhoek mikhmuh lamkah hmuencak khopuei rhoek ah mamih kah camoe rhoek ana om saeh.
18 We will not return to our houses until every one of the people of Israel has obtained his inheritance.

20 So Moses replied to them, “If you do what you say, if you arm yourselves to go before Yahweh to war,
Te dongah Moses loh amih te, “He ol he na ngai uh mak atah, caemtloek ham BOEIPA mikhmuh ah na pumcum uh mak atah,

23 But if you do not do so, look, you will have sinned against Yahweh. Be sure that your sin will find you out.

25 The descendants of Gad and Reuben spoke to Moses and said, “Your servants will do as you, our master, commands.
Te phoeiah Gad koca rhoek neh Reuben koca rhoek loh Moses taengah, “Na sal rhoek long he ka boei kah a uen bangla a saii uh bitni.

Ka boei kah na thui bangla, BOEIPA mikhmuh ah caempuei la aka pumcum na sal rhoek tah caemtloek la boeih kat bitni ni,” a ti uh.
28 So Moses gave instructions concerning them to Eleazar the priest, to Joshua son of Nun, and to the leaders of the ancestor's clans in the tribes of the people of Israel.
Amih kongah Moses loh khosoih Eleazar, Nun capa Joshua neh Israel ca rhoek kah koca, a napa boeilu rhoek te a uen.
29 Moses said to them, “If the descendants of Gad and Reuben cross over the Jordan with you, every man who is armed to battle before Yahweh, and if the land is subdued before you, then you will give them the land of Gilead as a possession.
Te vaengah Moses loh amih te, “BOEIPA mikhmuh ah caemtloek la aka pumcum Gad koca rhoek neh Reuben ca boeih tah nangmih taengah Jordan te kat uh coeng. Nangmih mikhmuh ah khohmuen te a khoem uh dongah Gilead khohmuen te amih taengah khohut la pae.
30 But if they do not cross over with you armed, then they will acquire their possessions among you in the land of Canaan.”
Nangmih taengah aka pumcum uh khaw a kat uh pawt atah Kanaan khohmuen ah tah nangmih khui kah te bawn uh saeh,” a ti nah.
31 So the descendants of Gad and Reuben answered and said, “As Yahweh has said to us, your servants, this is what we will do.
Gad koca rhoek neh Reuben koca rhoek loh a doo uh tih, “BOEIPA loh na sal rhoek taengah a thui bangla ka saii uh tangloeng bitni.
32 We will cross over armed before Yahweh into the land of Canaan, but our possessed inheritance will remain with us on this side of the Jordan.”
Kaimih BOEIPA mikhmuh ah aka pumcum rhoek tah Kanaan khohmuen la ka kat uh ni. Tedae Jordan rhalvang he tah kaimih kah rho neh kaimih ham khohut la om saeh,” a ti uh.
33 So to the descendants of Gad and Reuben, and also to the half tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph, Moses gave the kingdom of Sihon, king of the Amorites, and of Og, king of Bashan. He gave to them the land, and distributed to them all its cities with their borders, the cities of the land around them.
Te dongah Moses loh amih, Gad koca rhoek taeng neh Reuben koca rhoek taengah khaw, Joseph capa Manasseh koca hlangvang taengah khaw, Amori manghai Sihon kah ram, Bashan manghai Oga kah ram neh khohmuen, khohmuen kaepvai khopuei rhibawn kah a khopuei te a paek.
