Numbers 12
1 Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married.
Maria e Aronne parlarono contro Mosè a causa della donna etiope che aveva sposata; infatti aveva sposato una Etiope.
2 They said, “Has Yahweh spoken only with Moses? Has he not spoken also with us?” Now Yahweh heard what they said.
Dissero: «Il Signore ha forse parlato soltanto per mezzo di Mosè? Non ha parlato anche per mezzo nostro?». Il Signore udì.
3 Now the man Moses was very humble, humbler than anyone else on earth.
Ora Mosè era molto più mansueto di ogni uomo che è sulla terra.
4 Right away Yahweh spoke to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam: “Come out, you three, to the tent of meeting.” So the three of them went out.
Il Signore disse subito a Mosè, ad Aronne e a Maria: «Uscite tutti e tre e andate alla tenda del convegno». Uscirono tutti e tre.
5 Then Yahweh came down in a pillar of cloud. He stood at the entrance to the tent and called Aaron and Miriam. They both came forward.
Il Signore allora scese in una colonna di nube, si fermò all'ingresso della tenda e chiamò Aronne e Maria. I due si fecero avanti.
6 Yahweh said, “Now listen to my words. When a prophet of mine is with you, I will reveal myself to him in visions and speak to him in dreams.
Il Signore disse: «Ascoltate le mie parole! Se ci sarà un vostro profeta, io, il Signore, in visione a lui mi rivelerò, in sogno parlerò con lui.
7 My servant Moses is not like that. He is faithful in all my house.
Non così per il mio servo Mosè: egli è l'uomo di fiducia in tutta la mia casa.
8 I speak to Moses directly, not with visions or riddles. He sees my form. So why are you unafraid to speak against my servant, against Moses?”
Bocca a bocca parlo con lui, in visione e non con enigmi ed egli guarda l'immagine del Signore. Perchè non avete temuto di parlare contro il mio servo Mosè?».
9 Yahweh's anger burned against them, and then he left them.
L'ira del Signore si accese contro di loro ed Egli se ne andò;
10 The cloud rose from over the tent, and Miriam was suddenly leprous—she was as white as snow. When Aaron turned toward Miriam, he saw that she had leprosy.
la nuvola si ritirò di sopra alla tenda ed ecco Maria era lebbrosa, bianca come neve; Aronne guardò Maria ed ecco era lebbrosa.
11 Aaron said to Moses, “Oh, my master, please do not hold this sin against us. We have spoken foolishly, and we have sinned.
Aronne disse a Mosè: «Signor mio, non addossarci la pena del peccato che abbiamo stoltamente commesso,
12 Please do not let her be like a dead newborn whose flesh is half consumed when it emerges from its mother's womb.”
essa non sia come il bambino nato morto, la cui carne è gia mezzo consumata quando esce dal seno della madre».
13 So Moses called out to Yahweh. He said, “Please heal her, God, please.”
Mosè gridò al Signore: «Guariscila, Dio!».
14 Yahweh said to Moses, “If her father had spit in her face, she would be disgraced for seven days. Shut her outside the camp for seven days. After that bring her in again.”
Il Signore rispose a Mosè: «Se suo padre le avesse sputato in viso, non ne porterebbe essa vergogna per sette giorni? Stia dunque isolata fuori dell'accampamento sette giorni; poi vi sarà di nuovo ammessa».
15 So Miriam was shut outside the camp for seven days. The people did not journey until she had returned to the camp.
Maria dunque rimase isolata, fuori dell'accampamento sette giorni; il popolo non riprese il cammino, finché Maria non fu riammessa nell'accampamento.
16 After that, the people journeyed from Hazeroth and camped in the wilderness of Paran.
Poi il popolo partì da Caserot e si accampò nel deserto di Paran.
