< Nehemiah 5 >
1 Then the men and their wives raised a great outcry against their fellow Jews.
Ket inyikkis dagiti lallaki ken dagiti assawada ti reklamoda kadagiti padada a Judio.
2 For there were some who said, “With our sons and daughters we are many. So let us get grain that we may eat and stay alive.”
Ta adda sumagmamano kadakuada a nangibaga, “Adukami agraman dagiti annakmi a lallaki ken babbai. Isu a makaalakami koma iti trigo a kanenmi ket agbiagkami.”
3 There were also some who said, “We are mortgaging our fields, our vineyards, and our houses to get grain during the famine.”
Adda pay dadduma kadakuada a nangibaga, “Insaldami dagiti talonmi, dagiti kaubasanmi ken dagiti balaymi tapno makaalakami iti trigo kabayatan ti panagbisin.”
4 Some also said, “We have borrowed money to pay the king's tax on our fields and our vineyards.
Kinuna pay dagiti dadduma, “Bimmulodkami iti kuarta nga ibayadmi iti ari a para iti buis dagiti talon ken dagiti kaubasanmi.
5 Yet now our flesh and blood is the same as our brothers, and our children are the same as their children. We are forced to sell our sons and our daughters to become slaves. Some of our daughters have already been enslaved. But it is not in our power to help it because other men now own our fields and our vineyards.”
Ngem ita, ti lasag ken darami ket kas met laeng kadagiti kakabsatmi, ken dagiti annakmi ket kas met laeng kadagiti annakda. Mapilitankami a mangilako kadagiti annakmi nga agbalin a tagabu. Natagabun dagiti dadduma nga annakmi a babbai. Ngem awan ti kabaelanmi a tumulong kadakuada gapu ta sabalin a tattao ti akinkukua kadagiti talon ken kadagiti kaubasanmi.”
6 I was very angry when I heard their outcry and these words.
Kasta unay ti ungetko idi nangngegko ti ikkisda ken dagitoy a sasao.
7 Then I thought about this, and brought charges against the nobles and officials. I said to them, “You are exacting interest, each from his own brother.” I held a great assembly against them
Pinanpanunotko ngarud daytoy, ket napanko binabalaw dagiti natakneng a tattao ken dagiti opisial. Kinunak kadakuada, “Agsingsingir ti tunggal maysa kadakayo iti interes iti bukodna a kabsat.” Nangangayak iti dakkel a taripnong a maibusor kadakuada
8 and said to them, “We, as much as we are able, have bought back from slavery our Jewish brothers who had been sold to the nations, but you even sell your brothers and sisters that they may be sold back to us!” They were silent and never found a word to say.
ket kinunak kadakuada, “Datayo, agingga iti kabaelantayo ket sinubbottayo manipud iti pannakatagabu dagiti kakabsattayo a Judio a nailako kadagiti nasion, ngem inlakoyo dagiti kakabsatyo kadagiti padayo a Judio tapno ilakodanto met laeng ida kadatayo!” Nagulimekda ket awan a pulos ti nasaoda.
9 Also I said, “What you are doing is not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our God to prevent the taunts of the nations that are our enemies?
Kinunak pay, “Saan a nasayaat ti ar-aramidenyo. Saan aya a rumbeng nga agbiagkayo nga addaan panagbuteng iti Dios tapno maliklikan ti panangumsi kadatayo dagiti kabusortayo a nasion?
10 I and my brothers and my servants are lending them money and grain. But we must stop charging interest on these loans.
Siak, dagiti kakabsatko ken dagiti adipenko, ket papautanganmi ida iti kuarta ken trigo. Ngem masapul nga isardengmin ti panagsingir iti interes kadagitoy nga utang.
11 Return to them this very day their fields, their vineyards, their olive orchards, and their houses and the percentage of the money, the grain, the new wine, and the oil that you exacted from them.”
Iti daytoy met la nga aldaw, isubliyon kadakuada dagiti talonda, dagiti kaubasanda, dagiti kaoliboanda, dagiti babbalayda ken ti porsiento ti kuartada, ti trigoda, ti baro nga arakda, ken ti lana a siningiryo kadakuada.”
12 Then they said, “We will return what we took from them, and will require nothing from them. We will do as you say.” Then I called the priests, and made them swear to do as they had promised.
Ket kinunada, “Isublimin dagiti innalami kadakuada, ken saanmi idan a singeren. Aramidenmi kas iti imbagam.” Inayabak ngarud dagiti papadi ket pinagsapatak ida a tungpalenda dagiti inkarida.
13 I shook out the fold of my robe and said, “So may God shake out of his house and possessions every man who does not keep his promise. So may he be shaken out and emptied.” All the assembly said, “Amen,” and they praised Yahweh and the people did as they had promised.
Winagwagko ti kupin ti kagayko ket kinunak kadakuada, “Wagwagen koma ti Dios ti balay ken dagiti sanikuana ti tunggal tao a saan a mangtungpal iti karina. Mawagwag koma isuna ken awan mabati kenkuana. Kinuna dagiti amin nga adda iti taripnong, “Sapay koma ta kasta,” ket dinaydayawda ni Yahweh. Ket inaramid dagiti tattao kas iti inkarida.
14 So from the time I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year until the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes the king, twelve years, neither I nor my brothers ate the food provided for the governor.
Isu a manipud iti tiempo a nadutokanak a gobernadorda iti daga ti Juda, manipud iti maika-duapulo a tawen agingga iti maika-32 a tawen ni Artaxerxes nga ari, sangapulo ket dua a tawen a saanak a nangan wenno dagiti kakabsatko kadagiti taraon nga agpaay iti gobernador.
15 But the former governors who were before me laid heavy burdens on the people, and took from them forty shekels of silver for their daily food and wine. Even their servants oppressed the people. But I did not do so because of the fear of God.
Ngem pinadagsenan dagiti sigud a gobernador nga immun-una ngem siak dagiti tattao, inalaanda ida iti uppat a pulo a siklo a pirak nga agpaay iti inaldaw a taraon ken arakda. Uray dagiti adipenda ket pinarigatda dagiti tattao. Ngem saanko nga inaramid ti kasta gapu iti panagbutengko iti Dios.
16 I also continued to work on the wall, and we bought no land, and all my servants were gathered there for the work.
Intuloyko pay ti nagtrabaho iti pader, ket awan ti ginatangmi a daga. Ket naguummong sadiay dagiti amin nga adipenko tapno agtrabaho.
17 At my table were the Jews and the officials, 150 men, besides those who came to us from among the nations who were around us.
Kalanglangko a mangan iti lamisaak dagiti 150 a lallaki a Judio ken opisial, malaksid kadagiti immay kadakami manipud kadagiti nasion iti aglawlawmi.
18 Now what was prepared each day was one ox, six choice sheep, and also birds, and every ten days all kinds of wine in abundance, yet for all this I did not demand the food allowance of the governor, because the demands were too heavy on the people.
Ita, inaldaw a maisagana ti maysa a kalakian a baka, innem a napili a karnero, ken kasta met dagiti bilit, ken kada sangapulo nga aldaw, nawadwad ti amin a kita ti arak. Ket nupay kasta, saanko nga innala ti abasto a taraon nga agpaay iti gobernador, gapu ta nadagsen unay kadagiti tattao ti masingsingir a buis.
19 Call me to mind, my God, for good, because of all that I have done for this people.
Lagipennak, O Diosko, iti kinaimbag, gapu kadagiti amin nga inaramidko para kadagitoy a tattao.
