Matthew 5
1 When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on the mountain. When he had sat down, his disciples came to him.
ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ യേശു ഒരു മലയിൽ കയറി അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു. ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അടുത്തുചെന്നു.
2 He opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
അദ്ദേഹം അവരെ തിരുമൊഴികളാൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“ആത്മാവിൽ ദരിദ്രരായവർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ; അവർക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ സ്വർഗരാജ്യം.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
വിലപിക്കുന്നവർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ; അവർക്ക് സാന്ത്വനം ലഭിക്കും.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
സൗമ്യശീലർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ; അവർക്ക് ഭൂമി പൈതൃകമായി ലഭിക്കും.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
നീതിക്ക് അതിയായി വിശക്കുകയും ദാഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ; അവർ സംതൃപ്തരാകും.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain mercy.
കരുണാഹൃദയർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ; അവർക്ക് കരുണ ലഭിക്കും.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
ഹൃദയനൈർമല്യമുള്ളവർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ; അവർക്കു ദൈവം ദർശനമേകും.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
സമാധാനസ്ഥാപകർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ; അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രരെന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.
10 Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
നീതിക്കുവേണ്ടി പീഡിതരാകുന്നവർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ; അവർക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ സ്വർഗരാജ്യം.
11 Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil things against you falsely for my sake.
“എന്റെ അനുയായികളായതുകൊണ്ട് മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങളെ അപമാനിക്കുകയും പീഡിപ്പിക്കുകയും നിങ്ങൾക്കെതിരേ എല്ലാവിധ വ്യാജപ്രസ്താവനകൾ നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ അനുഗൃഹീതർ.
12 Rejoice and be very glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For in this way people persecuted the prophets who lived before you.
നിങ്ങൾ ആനന്ദിച്ചുല്ലസിക്കുക. കാരണം, മഹത്താണ് സ്വർഗത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള പ്രതിഫലം. അങ്ങനെതന്നെ അവർ നിങ്ങൾക്കുമുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും പീഡിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.
13 You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt has lost its taste, how can it be made salty again? It is never again good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.
“നിങ്ങൾ ഭൂമിയുടെ ഉപ്പാകുന്നു. എന്നാൽ ഉപ്പ്, ഉപ്പുരസം ഇല്ലാത്തതായാൽ അതിന്റെ ഉപ്പുരസം എങ്ങനെ വീണ്ടെടുക്കാൻ കഴിയും? പുറത്തേക്കു വലിച്ചെറിഞ്ഞ്, മനുഷ്യർക്ക് ചവിട്ടിക്കളയാനല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നിനും അത് ഉപകരിക്കുന്നില്ല.
14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
“നിങ്ങൾ ലോകത്തിന്റെ പ്രകാശമാകുന്നു; മലമുകളിലുള്ള പട്ടണം അദൃശ്യമായിരിക്കുക അസാധ്യം.
15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but rather on the lampstand, and it shines for everyone in the house.
വിളക്കു കൊളുത്തി ആരും പറയുടെ കീഴിൽ വെക്കാറില്ല; പിന്നെയോ, അതു വീട്ടിലുള്ള എല്ലാവർക്കും പ്രകാശം നൽകേണ്ടതിന് ഏതെങ്കിലും വിളക്കുകാലിന്മേലാണ് വെക്കുക.
16 Let your light shine before people in such a way that they see your good deeds and praise your Father who is in heaven.

17 Do not think that I have come to destroy the law or the prophets. I have come not to destroy them, but to fulfill them.

18 For truly I say to you that until heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things have been accomplished.
ഞാൻ ഒരു സത്യം നിങ്ങളോടു പറയാം: ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും അപ്രത്യക്ഷമായാലും സകലതും നിറവേറുന്നതുവരെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലെ അക്ഷരങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു വള്ളിക്കോ പുള്ളിക്കോ മാറ്റം വരികയില്ല.
19 Therefore whoever breaks the least one of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever keeps them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
ഈ കൽപ്പനകളിൽ ഏറ്റവും ലളിതമെന്ന് കരുതുന്ന ഒന്ന് അവഗണിക്കുകയും അപ്രകാരം ചെയ്യാൻ മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ഉപദേശിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നയാൾ സ്വർഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും നിസ്സാരനായി പരിഗണിക്കപ്പെടും; എന്നാൽ, ഈ കൽപ്പനകൾ പാലിക്കുകയും അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യാൻ മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ഉപദേശിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നയാൾ സ്വർഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ മഹാൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.
20 For I say to you that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will in no way enter the kingdom of heaven.
ദൈവവിഷയത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള നീതിനിഷ്ഠ പരീശന്മാർക്കും വേദജ്ഞർക്കുമുള്ള നീതിനിഷ്ഠയിൽ കവിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ നിശ്ചയമായും സ്വർഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കുകയില്ല.
21 You have heard that it was said to them in ancient times, 'Do not kill,' and, 'Whoever kills will be in danger of the judgment.'
“‘കൊലപാതകം ചെയ്യരുതെന്ന്’ പൂർവികരോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത് നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ, ‘കൊലയാളി അതിന്റെ ശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിച്ചേ തീരൂ.’
22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be in danger of the judgment; and whoever says to his brother, 'You worthless person!' will be in danger of the council; and whoever says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell. (Geenna g1067)

23 Therefore if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has anything against you,
“അതുകൊണ്ട്, നീ യാഗപീഠത്തിൽ, യാഗാർപ്പണത്തിനായി വരുമ്പോൾ നിന്റെ സഹോദരനോ സഹോദരിക്കോ നിനക്ക് വിരോധമായി എന്തെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടെന്ന് ഓർമ വന്നാൽ
24 leave your gift there in front of the altar, and go on your way. First be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
നിന്റെ അർപ്പണവസ്തു യാഗപീഠത്തിനുമുമ്പിൽ വെച്ചിട്ട് ആദ്യം ചെന്ന് അവരോടു രമ്യതപ്പെടുക; പിന്നീടു വന്നു നിന്റെ യാഗം അർപ്പിക്കുക.
25 Agree with your accuser quickly while you are with him on the way to court, or your accuser may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.
“നിന്നെ കോടതിയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന എതിർകക്ഷിയുമായി, വഴിയിൽവെച്ചുതന്നെ വേഗത്തിൽ രമ്യതയിലായിക്കൊള്ളുക. അല്ലാത്തപക്ഷം അയാൾ നിന്നെ ന്യായാധിപന് വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കുകയും ന്യായാധിപൻ നിയമപാലകന് കൈമാറുകയും അയാൾ നിന്നെ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ അടയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
26 Truly I say to you, you will never come out from there until you have paid the last bit of money you owe.
അവസാനത്തെ നാണയവും കൊടുത്തുതീർക്കുന്നതുവരെ നീ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറത്തുവരികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പറയുന്നു.
27 You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.'
“‘വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുത്’ എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത് നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.
28 But I say to you that everyone who looks on a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
എന്നാൽ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: ആസക്തിയോടെ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ നോക്കുന്നവൻ തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ അവളുമായി വ്യഭിചാരംചെയ്തുകഴിഞ്ഞു.
29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is better for you that one of your body parts should perish than that your whole body should be thrown into hell. (Geenna g1067)

30 If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away from you. For it is better for you that one of your body parts should perish than that your whole body should go into hell. (Geenna g1067)

31 It was also said, 'Whoever sends his wife away, let him give her a certificate of divorce.'
“‘ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവൻ അവൾക്ക് ഒരു വിവാഹമോചനപത്രം കൊടുത്തിരിക്കണം’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.
32 But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress. Whoever marries her after she has been divorced commits adultery.
എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നത്, പാതിവ്രത്യലംഘനം നിമിത്തമല്ലാതെ ആരെങ്കിലും സ്വന്തം ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ അയാൾ തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ വ്യഭിചാരിണിയാക്കുകയാണ്; ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട സ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹംകഴിക്കുന്നവനും വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുകയാണ്.
33 Again, you have heard that it was said to those in ancient times, 'Do not swear a false oath, but carry out your oaths to the Lord.'
“‘ശപഥംചെയ്തതു ലംഘിക്കരുതെന്നും കർത്താവിനോടുചെയ്ത ശപഥം നിറവേറ്റണമെന്നും’ പൂർവികരോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.
34 But I say to you, swear not at all, neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;
എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു, ശപഥംചെയ്യുകയേ അരുത്; സ്വർഗത്തെക്കൊണ്ട് ശപഥംചെയ്യരുത്; അത് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം;
35 nor by the earth, for it is the footstool for his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
ഭൂമിയെക്കൊണ്ടരുത്; അത് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പാദപീഠം. ജെറുശലേമിനെക്കൊണ്ടും അരുത്; അതു മഹാരാജാവിന്റെ നഗരം.
36 Neither swear by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black.
നിങ്ങളുടെ തലയെക്കൊണ്ട് ശപഥംചെയ്യരുത്; കാരണം ഒരു മുടിയെങ്കിലും വെളുപ്പിക്കാനോ കറുപ്പിക്കാനോ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കഴിവില്ല.
37 But let your speech be 'Yes, yes,' or 'No, no.' Anything that is more than this is from the evil one.
നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്ക് ‘അതേ’ ‘അതേ’ എന്നോ ‘ഇല്ല’ ‘ഇല്ല’ എന്നോ ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ. ഇതിൽ അധികമായതു പിശാചിൽനിന്ന് വരുന്നു.
38 You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.'
“‘കണ്ണിനുപകരം കണ്ണ്, പല്ലിനുപകരം പല്ല്’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുള്ളത് നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.
39 But I say to you, do not resist one who is evil. Instead, whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നത് നിങ്ങളെ ദ്രോഹിക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തിയോട് പ്രതികരിക്കരുത്. ആരെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ വലതുചെകിട്ടത്ത് അടിച്ചാൽ അയാൾക്ക് മറ്റേ ചെകിടും കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുക.
40 If anyone wishes to go to court with you and takes away your coat, let that person also have your cloak.
ആരെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉടുപ്പിനുവേണ്ടി കോടതിവ്യവഹാരം നടത്തിയാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ പുറങ്കുപ്പായവുംകൂടെ അയാൾക്ക് വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കുക.
41 Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.
ഒരു പടയാളി ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരം തന്റെ സാമാനങ്ങൾ ചുമക്കാൻ നിങ്ങളെ നിർബന്ധിച്ചാൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തോടൊപ്പം രണ്ട് കിലോമീറ്റർ പോകുക.
42 Give to anyone who asks you, and do not turn away from anyone who wishes to borrow from you.
നിന്നോട് എന്തെങ്കിലും ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്ന വ്യക്തിക്ക് അതു നൽകുക; വായ്പവാങ്ങാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തിയിൽനിന്ന് ഒഴിഞ്ഞുമാറരുത്.
43 You have heard that it was said, 'You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
“‘അയൽവാസിയെ സ്നേഹിക്കണം എന്നും ശത്രുവിനെ വെറുക്കണം’ എന്നും കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.
44 But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുക, നിങ്ങളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവർക്കുവേണ്ടി പ്രാർഥിക്കുക;
45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്വർഗസ്ഥപിതാവിന്റെ മക്കൾ ആയിത്തീരും. അവിടന്നു ദുഷ്ടരുടെമേലും നല്ലവരുടെമേലും തന്റെ സൂര്യനെ ഉദിപ്പിക്കുകയും നീതി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരുടെമേലും അനീതി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരുടെമേലും മഴപെയ്യിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നല്ലോ.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you get? Do not even the tax collectors do the same thing?
നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെമാത്രം സ്നേഹിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്തു പ്രതിഫലമാണു ലഭിക്കുക? അങ്ങനെ നികുതിപിരിവുകാരും ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ!
47 If you greet only your brothers, what do you do more than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same thing?
സ്വന്തം സഹോദരങ്ങളെമാത്രമാണ് നിങ്ങൾ അഭിവാദനംചെയ്യുന്നതെങ്കിൽ; പുകഴാൻ എന്തിരിക്കുന്നു? അങ്ങനെതന്നെയല്ലേ യെഹൂദേതരരും ചെയ്യുന്നത്?
48 Therefore you must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
അതുകൊണ്ട്, നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്വർഗസ്ഥപിതാവിന് സർവത്തിലും പരിപൂർണതയുള്ളതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും സർവത്തിലും പരിപൂർണരാകുക.
