< Matthew 16 >
1 The Pharisees and Sadducees came and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from the sky.
Immay ken sinuot dagiti Pariseo ken dagiti Saduceo isuna babaen iti panangkiddawda a mangipakita isuna kadakuada iti pagilasinan manipud iti tangatang.
2 But he answered and said to them, “When it is evening, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.'
Ngem simmungbat isuna ket kinunana kadakuada, “No iti rabii ibagayo, 'Nasayaatto ti panawen ta nalabbaga ti tangatang.'
3 When it is morning, you say, 'It will be foul weather, for the sky is red and overcast.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.
Ken iti agsapa ibagayo, 'Saan a nasayaat ti panawen itatta ta nalabbaga ken nalidem ti tangatang.' Ammoyo nga ibaga ti kaipapanan iti langa ti tangatang ngem saanyo a maibaga ti kaipapanan dagiti pagilasinan kadagiti tiempo.
4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” Then Jesus left them and went away.
Agsapul iti pagilasinan ti dakes ken mannakikamalala a kaputotan ngem awanto ti maited a pagilasinan malaksid iti pagilasinan ni Jonas.'” Ket imbati ida ni Jesus sa immadayo.
5 When the disciples reached the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
Idi nakadanon dagiti adalan iti ballasiw, nalipatanda gayam ti nangitugot iti tinapay.
6 Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
Kinuna ni Jesus kadakuada, “Dumngegkayo ket agannadkayo iti lebadura dagiti Pariseo ken dagiti Saduceo.”
7 The disciples reasoned among themselves and said, “It is because we took no bread.”
Nagsisinnaludsod dagiti adalan ket kinunada, “Awan gamin ti naitugottayo a tinapay.”
8 Jesus was aware of this and said, “You of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves and say that it is because you have taken no bread?
Ammon ni Jesus daytoy ket kinunana, “Dakayo a bassit ti pammatina, apay nga agsisinaludsodkayo ket ibagayo a gapu ta awan ti naitugotyo a tinapay?
9 Do you not yet perceive or remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you gathered up?
Saanyo kadi pay la a maawatan wenno malagip dagiti lima a tinapay a naipaay kadagiti lima a ribu, ken no mano a labba ti naurnongyo?
10 Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up?
Wenno dagiti pito a tinapay a naipaay kadagiti uppat a ribu, ken no mano a labba ti naalayo?
11 How is it that you do not understand that I was not speaking to you about bread? Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
Kasano a saanyo a maawatan a saanak nga agsasao kadakayo maipanggep iti tinapay? Dumngegkayo a nasayaat ken agannadkayo iti lebadura dagiti Pariseo ken dagiti Saduceo.”
12 Then they understood that he was not telling them to beware of yeast in bread, but to beware of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Ket naawatandan a saan a maipanggep iti lebadura ti tinapay ti makagapu nga ibagbagana nga agannadda, no diket agannadda iti sursuro dagiti Pariseo ken dagiti Saduceo.
13 Now when Jesus came to the regions near Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”
Ita, idi dimteng ni Jesus kadagiti rehion nga asideg iti Cesarea Filipos, sinaludsodna dagiti adalanna, kinunana, “Ania ti ibagbaga dagiti tattao a kinasiasino ti Anak ti Tao?”
14 They said, “Some say John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.”
Kinunada, “Ibagbaga dagiti dadduma a ni Juan a Mammuniag; ti dadduma ket ni Elias, ken dagiti sabali ket ni Jeremias, wenno maysa kadagiti profeta.”
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Kinunana kadakuada, “Ngem siasinoak iti panagkunayo?”
16 Answering, Simon Peter said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Simmungbat ni Simon Pedro, kinunana, “Sika ti Cristo, ti Anak ti sibibiag a Dios.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood have not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
Simmungbat ni Jesus a kinunana kenkuana, “Nabendisionanka, Simon Bar-Jonas, ta saan a ti lasag ken dara ti nangipakaammo iti daytoy kenka ngem ti Amak nga adda sadi langit.
18 I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church. The gates of Hades will not prevail against it. (Hadēs )
Ibagak pay kenka a sika ni Pedro, ket iti rabaw daytoy a bato, ipatakderkonto ti iglesiak. Saanto a pagballigian dagiti ruangan ti hades daytoy.” (Hadēs )
19 I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Itedkonto kenka dagiti tulbek iti pagarian ti langit. Aniaman a galutam ditoy daga ket magalutanto met idiay langit, ken aniaman a warwaram ditoy daga ket mawarwaranto met idiay langit.”
20 Then Jesus commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he was the Christ.
Ket binilin ni Jesus dagiti adalanna nga awan ti pangibagaanda nga isuna ti Cristo.
21 From that time Jesus started to tell his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem, suffer many things at the hand of the elders and chief priests and scribes, be killed, and be raised back to life on the third day.
Manipud iti dayta a tiempo, inrugi ni Jesus nga ibaga kadagiti adalanna a masapul a mapan isuna idiay Jerusalem, agsagaba iti adu a banbanag iti ima dagiti panglakayen, kadagiti panguloen a papadi, ken kadagiti eskriba, mapapatay, ken mapagungarto iti maikatlo nga aldaw.
22 Then Peter took him aside and rebuked him, saying, “May this be far from you, Lord; may this never happen to you.”
Ket inyado bassit ni Pedro isuna ket tinubngarna, a kunana, “Apo, maiyadayo koma kenka daytoy; saanto koma a pulos a mapasamak daytoy kenka.”
23 But Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, for you do not care for the things of God, but for the things of people.”
Ngem timmalliaw ni Jesus ket kinunana kenni Pedro, “Adaywannak Satanas! Maysaka a manglaplapped kaniak, ta saanka a maseknan kadagiti banbanag a pakaseknan ti Dios, no diket kadagiti banbanag a pakaseknan dagiti tattao.”
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to follow me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.
Kalpasanna, kinuna ni Jesus kadagiti adalanna, “No adda man ti kayatna a sumurot kaniak, masapul nga ilibakna ti bagina, baklayenna ti krusna, ket sumurot kaniak.
25 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Ta ti siasinoman a kayatna nga isalakan ti biagna ket mapukawnanto, ken siasinoman a makapukaw iti biagna gapu kaniak ket masarakannanto.
26 For what does it profit a person if he gains the whole world but forfeits his life? What can a person give in exchange for his life?
Ta ania ti magunggona ti maysa a tao no magun-odna ti sibubukel a lubong ngem mapukawna met ti biagna? Ania ti mabalin nga ited ti maysa a tao a kasukat iti biagna?
27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels. Then he will reward every person according to what he has done.
Ta umayto ti Anak ti Tao nga addaan iti dayag ti Amana a kaduana dagiti anghelna. Ket gunggonaannanto ti tunggal tao sigun iti inaramidna.
28 Truly I say to you, there are some of you standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”
Pudno, ibagak kadakayo, adda kadakayo a nakataktakder ditoy ti saanto a makaraman iti ipapatay agingga a makitada nga um-umay ti Anak ti Tao iti pagarianna.”
