Matthew 12
1 At that time Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the grainfields. His disciples were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and eat them.
Naquele tempo passou Jesus pelas searas, em um sábado; e os seus discípulos tinham fome, e começaram a colher espigas, e a comer.
2 But when the Pharisees saw that, they said to Jesus, “See, your disciples do what is unlawful to do on the Sabbath.”
E os fariseus, vendo isto, disseram-lhe: Eis que os teus discípulos fazem o que não é lícito fazer num sábado.
3 But Jesus said to them, “Have you never read what David did, when he was hungry, and the men who were with him?
Ele, porém, lhes disse: Não tendes lido o que fez David, quando teve fome, ele e os que com ele estavam?
4 He went into the house of God and ate the bread of the presence, which was unlawful for him to eat and unlawful for those who were with him, but lawful only for the priests.
Como entrou na casa de Deus, e comeu os pães da proposição, que não lhe era lícito comer, nem aos que com ele estavam, mas só aos sacerdotes?
5 Have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath but are guiltless?
Ou não tendes lido na lei que, aos sábados, os sacerdotes violam o sábado no templo, e ficam sem culpa?
6 But I say to you that one greater than the temple is here.
Pois eu vos digo que está aqui um maior do que o templo.
7 If you had known what this meant, 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless.
Mas, se vós soubesseis o que significa: misericórdia quero, e não sacrifício, não condenarieis os inocentes.
8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
Porque o Filho do homem até do sábado é Senhor.
9 Then Jesus left from there and went into their synagogue.
E, partindo dali, chegou à sinagoga deles.
10 Behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. The Pharisees asked Jesus, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” so that they might accuse him of sinning.
E, estava ali um homem que tinha uma das mãos mirrada; e eles, para o acusarem, o interrogaram, dizendo: É lícito curar nos sábados?
11 Jesus said to them, “What man would there be among you, who, if he had just one sheep, and if this sheep fell into a deep hole on the Sabbath, would not grasp hold of it and lift it out?
E ele lhes disse: Qual dentre vós será o homem que tenha uma ovelha, e, se num sábado a tal ovelha cair numa cova, não lance mão dela, e a levante?
12 How much more valuable, then, is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
Pois quanto mais vale um homem do que uma ovelha? É, por consequência, lícito fazer bem nos sábados.
13 Then Jesus said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and it was restored to health, just like the other hand.
Então disse àquele homem: Estende a tua mão. E ele a estendeu, e ficou sã como a outra.
14 But the Pharisees went out and plotted against him. They were seeking how they might put him to death.
E os fariseus, tendo saído, formaram conselho contra ele, para o matarem,
15 As Jesus perceived this, he withdrew from there. Many people followed him, and he healed them all.
Mas, sabendo-o, retirou-se dali, e acompanhou-o uma grande multidão de gente, e ele os curou a todos.
16 He commanded them not to make him known to others,
E recomendava-lhes rigorosamente que o não descobrissem,
17 that it might come true, what had been said through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
Para que se cumprisse o que fôra dito pelo profeta Isaias, que diz:
18 “See, my servant whom I have chosen; my beloved one, in whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.
Eis aqui o meu servo, que escolhi, o meu amado, em quem a minha alma se compraz: porei sobre ele o meu espírito, e anunciará aos gentios o juízo.
19 He will not strive nor cry aloud; neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
Não contenderá, nem clamará, nem alguém ouvirá pelas ruas a sua voz
20 He will not break any bruised reed; he will not quench any smoking flax, until he leads justice to victory,
Não esmagará a cana quebrada, e não apagará o murrão que fumega, até que faça triunfar o juízo;
21 and in his name the Gentiles will have certain hope.”
E no seu nome os gentios esperarão.
22 Then someone blind and mute, possessed by a demon, was brought to Jesus. He healed him, with the result that the mute man spoke and saw.
Trouxeram-lhe então um endemoninhado cego e mudo; e, de tal modo o curou, que o cego e mudo falava e via.
23 All the crowds were amazed and said, “Can this man be the Son of David?”
E toda a multidão se admirava e dizia: Não é este o Filho de David?
24 But when the Pharisees heard of this miracle, they said, “This man does not cast out demons except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
Mas os fariseus, ouvindo isto, diziam: Este não expulsa os demônios senão por Belzebú, príncipe dos demônios.
25 But Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is made desolate, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
Jesus, porém, conhecendo os seus pensamentos, disse-lhes: Todo o reino dividido contra si mesmo é devastado; e toda a cidade, ou casa dividida contra si mesma não subsistirá.
26 If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
E, se Satanás expulsa a Satanás, está dividido contra si mesmo; como subsistirá pois o seu reino?
27 And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons drive them out? For this reason they will be your judges.
E, se eu expulso os demônios por Belzebú, por quem os expulsam então os vossos filhos? Portanto eles mesmos serão os vossos juízes.
28 But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
Mas, se eu expulso os demônios pelo espírito de Deus, é conseguintemente chegado a vós o reino de Deus.
29 How can anyone enter the house of the strong man and steal his belongings without tying up the strong man first? Then he will steal his belongings from his house.
Ou, como pode alguém entrar em casa do homem valente, e furtar os seus vasos, se primeiro não manietar o valente, saqueando então a sua casa?
30 The one who is not with me is against me, and the one who does not gather with me scatters.
Quem não é comigo é contra mim; e quem comigo não ajunta espalha.
31 Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
Portanto eu vos digo: Todo o pecado e blasfêmia se perdoará aos homens; porém a blasfêmia contra o espírito não será perdoada aos homens.
32 Whoever speaks any word against the Son of Man, that will be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, that will not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in that which is to come. (aiōn g165)
E, se qualquer falar alguma palavra contra o Filho do homem, ser-lhe-á perdoado, mas, se alguém falar contra o Espírito Santo, não lhe será perdoado, nem neste século nem no futuro. (aiōn g165)
33 Make a tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.
Ou fazei a árvore boa, e o seu fruto bom, ou fazei a árvore má, e o seu fruto mau; porque pelo fruto se conhece a árvore.
34 You offspring of vipers, since you are evil, how can you say good things? For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Raça de víboras, como podeis vós dizer boas coisas, sendo maus? pois do que é em abundância no coração fala a boca.
35 The good man from the good treasure of his heart produces what is good, and the evil man from the evil treasure of his heart produces what is evil.
O homem bom tira boas coisas do tesouro do seu coração, e o homem mau do mau tesouro tira coisas más.
36 I say to you that in the day of judgment people will give an account for every idle word they will have said.
Mas eu vos digo que de toda a palavra ociosa que os homens disserem hão de dar conta no dia do juízo.
37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Porque por tuas palavras serás justificado, e por tuas palavras serás condenado.
38 Then certain scribes and Pharisees answered Jesus and said, “Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.”
Então alguns dos escribas e dos fariseus tomaram a palavra, dizendo: Mestre, quizeramos ver da tua parte algum sinal.
39 But Jesus answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign. But no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet.
Mas ele lhes respondeu, e disse: A geração má e adúltera pede um sinal, porém não se lhe dará senão o sinal do profeta Jonas;
40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the stomach of the big fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Pois, como Jonas esteve três dias e três noites no ventre da baleia, assim estará o Filho do homem três dias e três noites no seio da terra.
41 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation of people and will condemn it. For they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and see, someone greater than Jonah is here.
Os ninivitas resurgirão no juízo com esta geração, e a condenarão, porque se arrependeram com a pregação de Jonas. E eis que está aqui quem é mais do que Jonas.
42 The Queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them. She came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and see, someone greater than Solomon is here.
A rainha do meio dia se levantará no dia do juízo com esta geração, e a condenará; porque veio dos confins da terra a ouvir a sabedoria de Salomão. E eis que está aqui quem é mais do que Salomão.
43 When an unclean spirit has gone away from a man, it passes through waterless places and looks for rest, but does not find it.
E, quando o espírito imundo tem saído do homem, anda por lugares áridos, buscando repouso, e não o encontra.
44 Then it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' Having returned, it finds that house swept out and put in order.
Então diz: Voltarei para a minha casa de onde saí. E, voltando, acha-a desocupada, varrida e adornada.
45 Then it goes and takes along with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all come in to live there. Then the final condition of that man becomes worse than the first. It will be just like that with this evil generation.”
Então vai, e leva consigo outros sete espíritos piores do que ele, e, entrando, habitam ali: e são os últimos atos desse homem piores do que os primeiros. Assim acontecerá também a esta má geração.
46 While Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.
E, falando ele ainda à multidão, eis que estavam fora sua mãe e seus irmãos, pretendendo falar-lhe.
47 Someone said to him, “Look, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you.”
E disse-lhe alguém: Eis que estão ali fora tua mãe e teus irmãos, que querem falar-te.
48 But Jesus answered and said to him who told him, “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?”
Porém ele, respondendo, disse ao que lhe falara: Quem é minha mãe? e quem são meus irmãos?
49 Then he stretched out his hand toward his disciples and said, “See, here are my mother and my brothers!
E, estendendo a sua mão para os seus discípulos, disse: Eis aqui minha mãe e meus irmãos;
50 For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, that person is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
Porque, qualquer que fizer a vontade de meu Pai que está nos céus, este é meu irmão, e irmã e mãe.
