Luke 8
1 It happened soon afterward that Jesus began traveling around to different cities and villages, preaching and proclaiming the good news about the kingdom of God. The twelve were with him,
そののちイエスは、神の国の福音を説きまた伝えながら、町々村々を巡回し続けられたが、十二弟子もお供をした。
2 as well as certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and diseases: Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had been driven out;
また悪霊を追い出され病気をいやされた数名の婦人たち、すなわち、七つの悪霊を追い出してもらったマグダラと呼ばれるマリヤ、
3 Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's manager; Susanna; and many others, who, out of their possessions, provided for their needs.
ヘロデの家令クーザの妻ヨハンナ、スザンナ、そのほか多くの婦人たちも一緒にいて、自分たちの持ち物をもって一行に奉仕した。
4 While a large crowd of people was gathering, and people were coming to him from town after town, he told a parable:
さて、大ぜいの群衆が集まり、その上、町々からの人たちがイエスのところに、ぞくぞくと押し寄せてきたので、一つの譬で話をされた、
5 “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he sowed, some fell beside the road and it was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the sky devoured it.
「種まきが種をまきに出て行った。まいているうちに、ある種は道ばたに落ち、踏みつけられ、そして空の鳥に食べられてしまった。
6 Some fell on the rock, and as soon as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture.
ほかの種は岩の上に落ち、はえはしたが水気がないので枯れてしまった。
7 Some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up together with the seed and choked it.
ほかの種は、いばらの間に落ちたので、いばらも一緒に茂ってきて、それをふさいでしまった。
8 But some fell on good soil and produced a crop that was a hundred times greater.” After Jesus had said these things, he called out, “Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”
ところが、ほかの種は良い地に落ちたので、はえ育って百倍もの実を結んだ」。こう語られたのち、声をあげて「聞く耳のある者は聞くがよい」と言われた。
9 His disciples asked him what this parable meant.
弟子たちは、この譬はどういう意味でしょうか、とイエスに質問した。
10 He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but for others I speak in parables, so that 'seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.'
そこで言われた、「あなたがたには、神の国の奥義を知ることが許されているが、ほかの人たちには、見ても見えず、聞いても悟られないために、譬で話すのである。
11 Now this is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.
この譬はこういう意味である。種は神の言である。
12 The ones along the path are those who have heard, but then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so they may not believe and be saved.
道ばたに落ちたのは、聞いたのち、信じることも救われることもないように、悪魔によってその心から御言が奪い取られる人たちのことである。
13 The ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But they have no root; they believe for a while, and in a time of testing they fall away.
岩の上に落ちたのは、御言を聞いた時には喜んで受けいれるが、根が無いので、しばらくは信じていても、試錬の時が来ると、信仰を捨てる人たちのことである。
14 The seeds that fell among the thorns are people who hear the word, but as they go on their way, they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and their fruit does not mature.
いばらの中に落ちたのは、聞いてから日を過ごすうちに、生活の心づかいや富や快楽にふさがれて、実の熟するまでにならない人たちのことである。
15 But the seed that fell on the good soil, these are the ones who, hearing the word with an honest and good heart, hold it securely and bear fruit with patient endurance.
良い地に落ちたのは、御言を聞いたのち、これを正しい良い心でしっかりと守り、耐え忍んで実を結ぶに至る人たちのことである。
16 No one lights a lamp and covers it with a bowl or puts it under a bed. Rather, he puts it on a lampstand so that everyone who enters may see the light.
だれもあかりをともして、それを何かの器でおおいかぶせたり、寝台の下に置いたりはしない。燭台の上に置いて、はいって来る人たちに光が見えるようにするのである。
17 For nothing is hidden that will not be made known, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come into the light.
隠されているもので、あらわにならないものはなく、秘密にされているもので、ついには知られ、明るみに出されないものはない。
18 So listen carefully, for to the one who has, more will be given to him, but the one who does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him.”
だから、どう聞くかに注意するがよい。持っている人は更に与えられ、持っていない人は、持っていると思っているものまでも、取り上げられるであろう」。
19 Then his mother and brothers came to him, but they could not get near him because of the crowd.
さて、イエスの母と兄弟たちとがイエスのところにきたが、群衆のためそば近くに行くことができなかった。
20 He was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.”
それで、だれかが「あなたの母上と兄弟がたが、お目にかかろうと思って、外に立っておられます」と取次いだ。
21 But Jesus answered and said to them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”
するとイエスは人々にむかって言われた、「神の御言を聞いて行う者こそ、わたしの母、わたしの兄弟なのである」。
22 Now one day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” They set sail.
ある日のこと、イエスは弟子たちと舟に乗り込み、「湖の向こう岸へ渡ろう」と言われたので、一同が船出した。
23 But as they sailed he fell asleep. A terrible windstorm came down on the lake, and their boat was filling with water, and they were in danger.
渡って行く間に、イエスは眠ってしまわれた。すると突風が湖に吹きおろしてきたので、彼らは水をかぶって危険になった。
24 Then Jesus' disciples came over to him and woke him up, saying, “Master! Master! We are about to die!” He awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and there was a calm.
そこで、みそばに寄ってきてイエスを起し、「先生、先生、わたしたちは死にそうです」と言った。イエスは起き上がって、風と荒浪とをおしかりになると、止んでなぎになった。
25 Then he said to them, “Where is your faith?” and they were afraid. While they were afraid they were also amazed, and they asked one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?”
イエスは彼らに言われた、「あなたがたの信仰は、どこにあるのか」。彼らは恐れ驚いて互に言い合った、「いったい、このかたはだれだろう。お命じになると、風も水も従うとは」。
26 They sailed to the region of the Gerasenes, which is across the lake from Galilee.
それから、彼らはガリラヤの対岸、ゲラサ人の地に渡った。
27 When Jesus stepped on the land, he was met by a certain man from the city who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he did not live in a house but among the tombs.
陸にあがられると、その町の人で、悪霊につかれて長いあいだ着物も着ず、家に居つかないで墓場にばかりいた人に、出会われた。
28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him and he said with a loud voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me.”
この人がイエスを見て叫び出し、みまえにひれ伏して大声で言った、「いと高き神の子イエスよ、あなたはわたしとなんの係わりがあるのです。お願いです、わたしを苦しめないでください」。
29 For Jesus had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For many times it had seized him, and though he was bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and he would be driven by the demon into the wilderness.
それは、イエスが汚れた霊に、その人から出て行け、とお命じになったからである。というのは、悪霊が何度も彼をひき捕えたので、彼は鎖と足かせとでつながれて看視されていたが、それを断ち切っては悪霊によって荒野へ追いやられていたのである。
30 Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” and he said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered into him.
イエスは彼に「なんという名前か」とお尋ねになると、「レギオンと言います」と答えた。彼の中にたくさんの悪霊がはいり込んでいたからである。
悪霊どもは、底知れぬ所に落ちて行くことを自分たちにお命じにならぬようにと、イエスに願いつづけた。 (Abyssos g12)
32 Now a large herd of pigs was there feeding on the hillside. The demons begged him to let them go into them, and he gave them permission.
ところが、そこの山べにおびただしい豚の群れが飼ってあったので、その豚の中へはいることを許していただきたいと、悪霊どもが願い出た。イエスはそれをお許しになった。
33 So the demons came out of the man and went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep slope into the lake and was drowned.
そこで悪霊どもは、その人から出て豚の中へはいり込んだ。するとその群れは、がけから湖へなだれを打って駆け下り、おぼれ死んでしまった。
34 When those tending the pigs saw what had happened, they ran off and told about it in the city and countryside.
飼う者たちは、この出来事を見て逃げ出して、町や村里にふれまわった。
35 So the people went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone out. He was sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
人々はこの出来事を見に出てきた。そして、イエスのところにきて、悪霊を追い出してもらった人が着物を着て、正気になってイエスの足もとにすわっているのを見て、恐れた。
36 Then those who had seen it told them how the man who had been possessed by demons had been healed.
それを見た人たちは、この悪霊につかれていた者が救われた次第を、彼らに語り聞かせた。
37 Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to depart from them, for they were overwhelmed with great fear. So he got into the boat so they could start back.
それから、ゲラサの地方の民衆はこぞって、自分たちの所から立ち去ってくださるようにとイエスに頼んだ。彼らが非常な恐怖に襲われていたからである。そこで、イエスは舟に乗って帰りかけられた。
38 The man from whom the demons had gone out begged him to let him go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,
悪霊を追い出してもらった人は、お供をしたいと、しきりに願ったが、イエスはこう言って彼をお帰しになった。
39 “Return to your home and give a full account of what God has done for you.” The man went on his way, proclaiming throughout the whole city what Jesus had done for him.
「家へ帰って、神があなたにどんなに大きなことをしてくださったか、語り聞かせなさい」。そこで彼は立ち去って、自分にイエスがして下さったことを、ことごとく町中に言いひろめた。
40 Now when Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him.
イエスが帰ってこられると、群衆は喜び迎えた。みんながイエスを待ちうけていたのである。
41 Behold, a man named Jairus, who was one of the leaders of the synagogue, came and fell down at Jesus' feet, and he begged him to come to his house,
するとそこに、ヤイロという名の人がきた。この人は会堂司であった。イエスの足もとにひれ伏して、自分の家においでくださるようにと、しきりに願った。
42 because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve years of age, was dying. As Jesus was on his way, the crowds of people pressed together around him.
彼に十二歳ばかりになるひとり娘があったが、死にかけていた。ところが、イエスが出て行かれる途中、群衆が押し迫ってきた。
43 Now a woman was there who had been bleeding for twelve years and had spent all her money, and could not be healed by anyone.
ここに、十二年間も長血をわずらっていて、医者のために自分の身代をみな使い果してしまったが、だれにもなおしてもらえなかった女がいた。
44 She came behind Jesus and touched the edge of his coat, and immediately her bleeding stopped.
この女がうしろから近寄ってみ衣のふさにさわったところ、その長血がたちまち止まってしまった。
45 Jesus said, “Who was it who touched me?” When all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds of people are all around you and they are pressing in against you.”
イエスは言われた、「わたしにさわったのは、だれか」。人々はみな自分ではないと言ったので、ペテロが「先生、群衆があなたを取り囲んで、ひしめき合っているのです」と答えた。
46 But Jesus said, “Someone did touch me, for I know that power has gone out from me.”
しかしイエスは言われた、「だれかがわたしにさわった。力がわたしから出て行ったのを感じたのだ」。
47 When the woman saw that she could not escape notice, she came trembling and fell down before him. In the presence of all the people she declared why she had touched him and how she had been immediately healed.
女は隠しきれないのを知って、震えながら進み出て、みまえにひれ伏し、イエスにさわった訳と、さわるとたちまちなおったこととを、みんなの前で話した。
48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
そこでイエスが女に言われた、「娘よ、あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのです。安心して行きなさい」。
49 While he was still speaking, someone came from the synagogue leader's house, saying, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the teacher any longer.”
イエスがまだ話しておられるうちに、会堂司の家から人がきて、「お嬢さんはなくなられました。この上、先生を煩わすには及びません」と言った。
50 But when Jesus heard this, he answered Jairus, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be healed.”
しかしイエスはこれを聞いて会堂司にむかって言われた、「恐れることはない。ただ信じなさい。娘は助かるのだ」。
51 When he came to the house, he allowed no one to enter with him, except Peter and John and James, and the father of the child and her mother.
それから家にはいられるとき、ペテロ、ヨハネ、ヤコブおよびその子の父母のほかは、だれも一緒にはいって来ることをお許しにならなかった。
52 Now all were mourning and wailing for her, but he said, “Do not weep; she is not dead but asleep.”
人々はみな、娘のために泣き悲しんでいた。イエスは言われた、「泣くな、娘は死んだのではない。眠っているだけである」。
53 But they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.
人々は娘が死んだことを知っていたので、イエスをあざ笑った。
54 But he took her by the hand and called out, saying, “Child, get up!”
イエスは娘の手を取って、呼びかけて言われた、「娘よ、起きなさい」。
55 Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He ordered them to get her something to eat.
するとその霊がもどってきて、娘は即座に立ち上がった。イエスは何か食べ物を与えるように、さしずをされた。
56 Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them to tell no one what had happened.
両親は驚いてしまった。イエスはこの出来事をだれにも話さないようにと、彼らに命じられた。
