< Luke 3 >
1 In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—while Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod was tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip was tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias was tetrarch of Abilene,

5 Every valley will be filled, and every mountain and hill will be made low, and the crooked roads will be made straight, and the uneven places will be built into roads,

Andũ aingĩ nĩmathiire kũrĩ Johana akamabatithie, nake akĩmeera atĩrĩ, “Inyuĩ rũciaro rũrũ rwa nduĩra! Nũũ ũmũtaarĩte mũũrĩre marakara marĩa makiriĩ gũũka?
8 Therefore, produce fruits that are worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father,' for I tell you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones.
Ciarai maciaro maringaine na kwĩrira. Na mũtikambĩrĩrie kwĩĩra na ngoro cianyu atĩrĩ, ‘Ithe witũ nĩ Iburahĩmu,’ Nĩgũkorwo ngũmwĩra atĩrĩ, Ngai no atũme mahiga maya matuĩke ciana cia Iburahĩmu.
