< Luke 24 >
1 Very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.

2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
Vakoli liganga lila libilindwisi patali kuhuma pakuyingila mulitinda.
3 They entered in, but did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
Hinu, pavayingili mugati, vayiwene lepi higa ya Bambu Yesu.
4 It happened that, while they were confused about this, suddenly, two men stood by them in bright shining robes.
Pevavi vakona vikangasa ndava ya lijambu lenilo, bahapo vandu vavili vevawalili nyula za kung'asima neju vakahumila papipi yavi.
5 As the women were filled with fear and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said to the women, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?
Vadala vala vakavya na wogohi, vakagundama pahi. Ndi vandu vala vakavajovela, “Ndava kyani mukumlonda mundu mweavi mumi pagati ya vevafwili?
6 He is not here, but has been raised! Remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee,
Avi lepi apa, ayukili. Muholalela cheavajovili peavi akona ku Galilaya.
7 saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.”
‘Yikumgana Mwana wa Mundu awusiwayi pavandu vevakumbudila Chapanga, na vene yati vakumvamba pamsalaba na pa ligono la datu yati iyuka.’”
8 The women remembered his words,
Penapo vadala vala vakagakumbuka malovi ga Yesu,
9 and returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven and all the rest.
vakawuya kuhuma kulitinda, vakavajovela vamitumi kumi na mmonga, pamonga na vangi voha, malovi ga mambu ago goha.
10 Now Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them reported these things to the apostles.
Vadala vevabweli kujova mambu genago vavi Maliya mkolonjinji wa Magidala na Yoana na Maliya nyina waki Yakobo pamonga na vadala vangi vevalongosini nawu.
11 But this message seemed like idle talk to the apostles, and they did not believe the women.
Nambu vamitumi vala vasadiki lepi malovi ga vadala vala, ndava vagahololela ngati uyimu nunuyu.
12 Yet Peter rose up and ran to the tomb, and stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves. Peter then departed to his home, wondering what had happened.
Nambu Petili, akajumba kuhamba kulitinda, peahikili kulitinda agundimi kulingulila mugati akayiwona ngayene nyula ya msopi. Akawuya kunyumba kuni ikangasa na kujikota gala gegahumili.
13 Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia from Jerusalem.
Ligono lilolo, vavili pagati ya vamulanda va Yesu vavi mulugendu kuhamba kuchijiji chimonga cha ku Emau chechavi utali wa masaa gavili kuhuma ku Yelusalemu,
14 They discussed with each other about all the things that had happened.
Vavi mukugalongalela mambu goha gegahumalili.
15 It happened that, while they discussed and questioned together, Jesus himself approached and went with them.
Pavayendelela na malongesi gavi, Yesu mwene akavahumila na kugenda nawu,
16 But their eyes were prevented from recognizing him.
Vamuweni kwa mihu gavi, nambu vadindiwi vakotoka kummanya.
17 Jesus said to them, “What are the two of you talking about as you walk?” They stood there looking sad.
Yesu akavakota, “Mwilongela kyani kuni mwigenda?” Vene vakayima pamihu pavi pakwinyini cha ligoga.
18 One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only person in Jerusalem who does not know the things which have happened there these days?”
Mmonga wavi liina laki Kileopa, akamyangula, “Wu nga veve myehe wangamanya mambu gegahumalili pa Yelusalemu magono gagaga?”
19 Jesus said to them, “What things?” They answered him, “The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet, mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,
Yesu akavakota, “Mambu goki?” Vena vakamuyagula, “Mambu gegamkolili Yesu wa ku Nazaleti.” Mwene avi Mlota mweihotola kuhenga na kuwula palongolo ya vandu voha va Chapanga.
20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death and crucified him.
Vakulu va kuteta na vachilongosi vitu vakamgotola na kumuhamula lifwa, vakamvamba pamsalaba.
21 But we had confidence that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. Yes, and what is more, it is now the third day since all these things happened.
Nambu tete tamsadiki mwene kuvya ndi mweatumwili kuyigombola Isilaeli! Hinu, lelu ndi ligono la datu pagahengiki mambu genago.
22 But also, some women of our company amazed us, having been at the tomb early in the morning.
Kavili vadala vangi va kwitu vatikenyemwisi, muni vakahambili kulitinda lukela hambakucha,
23 When they did not find his body, they came, saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said that he was alive.
Nambu nakuyikolela higa ya Yesu. Vakawuya nakutijovela vahumiwi na vamitumu va kunani kwa Chapanga, vevavajovili ngati Yesu akona mumi.
24 Some men who were with us went to the tomb, and found it just as the women had said. But they did not see him.”
Vayitu vangi pagati yitu vahambili kulitinda kulola gegajoviwi na vadala vala, nambu nakuyiwona lepi mwene.
25 Jesus said to them, “O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
Kangi Yesu akavajovela, “Nyenye vayimu na mitima yinu yitopa kusadika gegajoviwi na vamlota va Chapanga!
26 Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory?”
Wuli, yamganili lepi Kilisitu msangula kung'ahika, kangi ayingilayi muukulu waki?”
27 Then beginning from Moses and through all the prophets, Jesus interpreted to them the things concerning himself in all the scriptures.
Hinu akavadandaulila mambu goha gegamuvala mwene mu Mayandiku Gamsopi kutumbula muhitabu ya Musa mbaka muhitabu ya Vamlota va Chapanga.
28 As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus acted as though he were going further.
Pevahegalili na chijiji chevaambayi, Yesu akakita ngati mweiyendelela na lugendu,
29 But they compelled him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is almost over.” So Jesus went in to stay with them.
Nambu vene vakamjovela, chondi pepayi, “Utamayi pamonga na tete, muni lilanga litipimi chitita chibwela.” Ndi akayingila nawu mugati.
30 It happened that, when he had sat down with them to eat, he took the bread, blessed it, and breaking it, he gave it to them.

31 Then their eyes were opened, and they knew him, and he vanished out of their sight.
Bahapo vakagubukuliwa mihu gavi na kummanya, nambu mwene akayaga pagati yavi.
32 They said one to another, “Was not our heart burning within us, while he spoke to us on the way, while he opened to us the scriptures?”
Ndi Vakajovesana, “Mitima yitu yasangalwiki neju mugati mwitu peakatidandauli Mayandiku Gamsopi munjila mula?”
33 They rose up that very hour, and returned to Jerusalem. They found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,

vakajova, “Chakaka Bambu ayukili! Amuhumalili Simoni!”
35 So they told the things that happened on the way, and how Jesus was shown to them in the breaking of the bread.
Hinu vamulanda vavili va Yesu vakavajovela mambu gegavakolili munjila na chevammanyili Yesu pealimetulayi libumunda.
36 As they spoke these things, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”
Pevavi mukujovewa genago, Yesu mwene bahapo akayima pagati yavi nakujova, “Uteke uvyayi na nyenye.”
37 But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they saw a spirit.

Nambu mwene akavajovela, “Ndava kyani mwivagaya? Ndava kyani mwikujikota kota mumitima yinu?
39 See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see me having.”
Mlola mawoko na magendelu, muni mumanyayi kuvya ndi nene. Munipamisa mumanya, muni lihoka langali higa amala lijege ngati chemukunilola.”
40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

41 They still could not believe it because of joy, and they were amazed. Jesus said to them, “Do you have anything to eat?”
Pevavi vakona kusadika, ndava ya luheku uvaha na kukangasa, Yesu akavakota, “Muvinachu chakulya chochoha penapa?”
42 They gave him a piece of a broiled fish,
Vakampela chipandi cha somba yiyochanu,
43 and he took it and ate it before them.
akachitola na kulya kuni woha vakumlola.
44 He said to them, “When I was with you, I told you that all that was written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”
45 Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the scriptures.
Kangi, penapo akavalangasila luhala lwavi muni vagamanyayi Mayandiku Gamsopi.
46 He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead on the third day.
Akavajovela, “Gayandikiwi kuvya, Kilisitu msangula yati ing'ahiswa nambu paligono la datu yati iyuka kuhuma pavafwili,
47 Repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

48 You are witnesses of these things.
Nyenye ndi mwemugawene mambu genago.
49 See, I am sending you what my Father promised. But remain in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”
Namwene yati nikuvapelekela yula mweavalagazili Dadi wangu, nambu mulindila kumuji mbaka pemumemeswa uhotola kuhuma kunani.”
50 Then Jesus led them out until they were near Bethany. He lifted up his hands and blessed them.
Kangi Yesu akavalongosa vawuliwa kuvala ya muji wenuwo mbaka ku Betania, akayinula mawoko gaki kunani akavamotisa.

Peamali kuvamotisa, akavaleka, akatoliwa kuhamba kunani kwa Chapanga.
52 So they worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.
