Luke 20
1 It came about one day, as Jesus was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came to him with the elders.
Y ACONTECIÓ un dia, que enseñando él al pueblo en el templo, y anunciando el Evangelio, llegáronse los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, con los ancianos,
2 They spoke, saying to him, “Tell us by what authority you do these things, or who it is who gave you this authority.”
Y le hablaron, diciendo: Dínos ¿con qué potestad haces estas cosas? ¿ó quién es el que te ha dado esta potestad?
3 He answered and said to them, “I will also ask you a question, and you tell me.
Respondiendo entónces Jesus, les dijo: Os preguntaré yo tambien una palabra; respondedme:
4 The baptism of John: was it from heaven or from men?”
El bautismo de Juan ¿era del cielo, ó de los hombres?
5 They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, 'From heaven,' he will say, 'Then why did you not believe him?'
Mas ellos pensaban dentro de sí, diciendo: Si dijéremos: Del cielo; dirá: ¿Por qué pues no le creisteis?
6 But if we say, 'From men,' all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”
Y si dijéremos: De los hombres: todo el pueblo nos apedreará; porque están ciertos que Juan era profeta.
7 So they answered that they did not know where it came from.
Y respondieron, que no sabian de donde [habia sido.]
8 Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
Entónces Jesus les dijo: Ni yo os digo con qué potestad hago estas cosas.
9 He told the people this parable, “A man planted a vineyard, rented it out to vine growers, and went into another country for a long time.
Y comenzó á decir al pueblo esta parábola: Un hombre planto una viña, y arrendóla á labradores, y se ausentó por mucho tiempo.
10 At the appointed time he sent a servant to the vine growers, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard. But the vine growers beat him, and sent him away empty-handed.
Y al tiempo envió un siervo á los labradores, para que le diesen del fruto de la viña; mas los labradores le hirieron, y enviaron vacío.
11 He then sent yet another servant and they also beat him, treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed.
Y volvió á enviar otro siervo: mas ellos á este tambien herido y afrentado le enviaron vacío.
12 He also sent yet a third and they also wounded him, and threw him out.
Y volvió á enviar al tercer siervo; mas ellos tambien á este echaron herido.
13 So the lord of the vineyard said, 'What will I do? I will send my beloved son. Maybe they will respect him.'
Entónces el señor de la vina dijo: ¿Qué haré? enviaré mi hijo amado: quizás cuando á este vieren, tendrán respeto.
14 But when the vine growers saw him, they discussed among themselves, saying, 'This is the heir. Let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.'
Mas los labradores viéndole, pensaron entre sí diciendo: Este es el heredero, venid, matémosle, para que la heredad sea nuestra.
15 They threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the lord of the vineyard do to them?
Y echáronlo fuera de la viña, y [le] mataron. ¿Qué pues les hará el señor de la viña?
16 He will come and destroy these vine growers, and will give the vineyard to others.” When they heard it, they said, “May it never be!”
Vendrá, y destruirá á estos labradores, y dará su vina á otros. Y como ellos [lo] oyeron, dijeron: Guarda.
17 But Jesus looked at them, and said, “What is the meaning of that which is written: 'The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone'?
Mas él mirándolos, dice: ¿Qué pues es lo que está escrito: La piedra que condenaron los edificadores, esta fué por cabeza de esquina?
18 Every one who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces. But on whomever it falls, it will crush.”
Cualquiera que cayere sobre aquella piedra, será quebrantado; mas sobre el que la piedra cayere, le desmenuzará.
19 So the scribes and the chief priests sought to lay hands on him in that very hour, for they knew that he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.
Y procuraban los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas echarle mano en aquella hora, porque entendieron que contra ellos habia dicho esta parábola; mas temieron al pueblo.
20 Watching him carefully, they sent out spies who pretended to be righteous, that they might find fault with his speech, so as to deliver him up to the rule and to the authority of the governor.
Y acechándo[le] enviaron espías que se simulasen justos, para sorprenderle en palabras, para que le entregasen al principado y á la potestad del presidente:
21 They asked him, saying, “Teacher, we know that you say and teach rightly, and are not influenced by anyone's position, but you teach the truth about the way of God.
los cuales le preguntaron, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que dices y enseñas bien, y que no tienes respeto á persona; ántes enseñas el camino de Dios con verdad.
22 Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
¿Esnos lícito dar tributo á Cesar, ó no?
23 But Jesus understood their craftiness, and said to them,
Mas él, entendiendo la astucia de ellos, les dijo: ¿Por qué me tentais?
24 “Show me a denarius. Whose image and name is on it?” They said, “Caesar's.”
Mostradme la moneda. ¿De quién tiene la imágen y la inscripcion? Y respondiendo dijeron: De César.
25 He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.”
Entónces les dijo: Pues dad a César lo que es de César; y lo que es de Dios, á Dios.
26 They were not able to find fault with what he had said in front of the people, but marveling at his answer, they were silent.
Y no pudieron reprender sus palabras delante del pueblo, ántes maravillados de su respuesta, callaron.
27 When some of the Sadducees came to him, the ones who say that there is no resurrection,
Y llegándose unos de los Saducéos, los cuales niegan haber resurreccion, le preguntaron,
28 they asked him, saying, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man's brother dies, having a wife, and being childless, the man should take the brother's wife, and have a child for his brother.
Diciendo: Maestro, Moisés nos escribió: Si el hermano de alguno muriere teniendo mujer, y muriere sin hijos, que su hermano tome la mujer, y levante simiente á su hermano.
29 There were seven brothers and the first took a wife, and died childless,
Fueron pues siete hermanos: y el primero tomó mujer, y murió sin hijos.
30 and the second as well.
Y la tomó el segundo, el cual tambien murió sin hijos.
31 The third took her, and likewise the seven also left no children, and died.
Y la tomó el tercero, asimismo tambien todos siete: y murieron sin dejar prole.
32 Afterward the woman also died.
Y á la postre de todos murió tambien la mujer.
33 In the resurrection then, whose wife will she be? For the seven had her as their wife.”
En la resurreccion, pues, ¿mujer de cuál de ellos será? porque los siete la tuvieron por mujer.
Entónces respondiendo Jesus, les dijo: los hijos de este siglo se casan, y son dados en casamiento: (aiōn g165)
35 But those who are regarded as worthy in that age to receive the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage. (aiōn g165)
Mas los que fueren tenidos por dignos de aquel siglo, y de la resurreccion de los muertos, ni se casan, ni son dados en casamiento: (aiōn g165)
36 Neither can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
Porque no pueden ya mas morir; porque son iguales á los ángeles, y son hijos de Dios, cuando son hijos de la resurreccion.
37 But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the place concerning the bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.
Y que los muertos hayan de resucitar, aun Moisés lo enseñó junto á la zarza, cuando dice al Señor: Dios de Abraham, y Dios de Isaac, y Dios de Jacob.
38 Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, because all live to him.”
Porque Dios no es [Dios] de muertos, mas de vivos; porque todos viven [cuanto] á él.
39 Some of the scribes answered, “Teacher, you have answered well.”
Y respondiéndole unos de los escribas, dijeron: Maestro, bien has dicho.
40 For they did not dare ask him any more questions.
Y no osaron más preguntarle algo.
41 Jesus said to them, “How do they say that the Christ is David's son?
Y él les dijo: ¿Cómo dicen que el Cristo es Hijo de David?
42 For David himself says in the Book of Psalms, The Lord said to my Lord, 'Sit at my right hand,
Y el mismo David dice en el libro de los Salmos: Dijo el Señor á mi Señor: Siéntate á mi diestra,
43 until I make your enemies your footstool.'
Entretanto que pongo tus enemigos [por] estrado de tus piés.
44 David therefore calls the Christ 'Lord', so how is he David's son?”
Así que David le llama Señor: ¿como pues es su hijo?
45 In the hearing of all the people he said to his disciples,
Y oyéndo[lo] todo el pueblo, dijo á sus discípulos:
46 “Beware of the scribes, who desire to walk in long robes, and love special greetings in the marketplaces, and chief seats in the synagogues, and chief places at feasts.
Guardáos de los escribas; que quieren andar con ropas largas, y aman las salutaciones en las plazas, y las primeras sillas en las sinagogas, y los primeros asientos en las cenas:
47 They also devour widows' houses, and for a show they make long prayers. Men like this will receive greater condemnation.”
Que devoran las casas de las viudas, poniendo por pretexto la larga oracion: estos recibirán mayor condenacion.
