Luke 19
1 Jesus entered and was passing through Jericho.
যীশু যিরীহোয় প্রবেশ করে তার মধ্য দিয়ে যাচ্ছিলেন।
2 Behold, there was a man there named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector and was rich.
সেখানে সক্কেয় নামে এক ব্যক্তি ছিল, সে ছিল প্রধান কর আদায়কারী ও একজন ধনী ব্যক্তি।
3 He was trying to see who Jesus was, but could not see over the crowd, because he was small in height.
কে যীশু, সে তা দেখতে চেয়েছিল। কিন্তু সে খাটো প্রকৃতির হওয়ার দরুন ও ভিড়ের জন্য, তাঁকে দেখতে পেল না।
4 So he ran on ahead of the people and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, because Jesus was about to pass that way.
তাই তাঁকে দেখার জন্য সে দৌড়ে গিয়ে সামনের একটি সিকামোর-ডুমুর গাছে উঠল। কারণ যীশু সেই পথ ধরেই আসছিলেন।
5 When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for today I must stay at your house.”
যীশু সেই স্থানে উপস্থিত হয়ে উপর দিকে তাকালেন ও তাকে বললেন, “সক্কেয়, এখনই নেমে এসো, আজ আমাকে অবশ্যই তোমার ঘরে থাকতে হবে।”
6 So he hurried and came down and welcomed him joyfully.
তাই সে তখনই নেমে এসে সানন্দে তাঁকে স্বাগত জানাল।
7 When everyone saw this, they all complained, saying, “He has gone in to visit a man who is a sinner.”
এই দেখে লোকেরা গুঞ্জন করতে লাগল, “ইনি একজন ‘পাপীর’ ঘরে অতিথি হতে যাচ্ছেন।”
8 Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone of anything, I will restore four times the amount.”
কিন্তু সক্কেয় দাঁড়িয়ে প্রভুকে বলল, “প্রভু দেখুন, আমি এখনই আমার সম্পত্তির অর্ধেক দরিদ্রদের মধ্যে বিলিয়ে দিচ্ছি। আর কাউকে প্রতারণা করে যদি কিছু নিয়েছি, তাহলে তার চারগুণ অর্থ আমি তাকে ফিরিয়ে দেব।”
9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham.
যীশু তাকে বললেন, “আজই এই পরিবারে পরিত্রাণ উপস্থিত হল, কারণ এই ব্যক্তিও অব্রাহামের সন্তান।
10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the people who are lost.”
বস্তুত, যা হারিয়ে গিয়েছিল, তার অন্বেষণ ও পরিত্রাণ করতে মনুষ্যপুত্র উপস্থিত হয়েছেন।”
11 As they heard these things, he continued speaking and told a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem, and they thought that the kingdom of God was about to appear immediately.
তারা যখন একথা শুনছিল, তিনি তাদের একটি রূপক কাহিনি বললেন, কারণ তিনি জেরুশালেমের নিকটে এসে পড়েছিলেন এবং লোকেরা মনে করছিল, ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যের আবির্ভাব তখনই হবে।
12 He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then to return.
তিনি বললেন, “সম্ভ্রান্ত বংশের এক ব্যক্তি এই উদ্দেশ্য নিয়ে কোনো এক সুদূর দেশে গেলেন যে রাজপদ লাভের পর স্বদেশে ফিরে আসবেন।
13 He called ten of his servants, and gave them ten minas, and said to them, 'Conduct business until I come back.'
তাই তিনি তাঁর দশজন দাসকে ডেকে তাদের দশটি মিনা দিয়ে বললেন, ‘আমি যতদিন ফিরে না-আসি, এই অর্থ ব্যবসায়ে নিয়োগ করো।’
14 But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, 'We will not have this man rule over us.'
“কিন্তু তার প্রজারা তাকে ঘৃণা করত। তারা তাই তার পিছনে এক প্রতিনিধি মারফত বলে পাঠাল, ‘আমরা চাই না, এই লোকটি আমাদের উপর রাজত্ব করুক।’
15 It happened when he came back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded the servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, that he might know what profit they had made by doing business.
“যাই হোক, তিনি রাজপদ লাভ করে স্বদেশে ফিরে এলেন। তারপর তিনি যে দাসদের অর্থ দিয়ে গিয়েছিলেন, তারা কী লাভ করেছে, জানবার জন্য তাদের ডেকে পাঠালেন।
16 The first came before him, saying, 'Lord, your mina has made ten minas more.'
“প্রথমজন এসে বলল, ‘হুজুর, আপনার মুদ্রা দিয়ে আমি আরও দশটি মুদ্রা অর্জন করেছি।’
17 The nobleman said to him, 'Well done, good servant. Because you were faithful in very little, you will have authority over ten cities.'
“তার মনিব উত্তর দিলেন, ‘উত্তম দাস আমার, তুমি ভালোই করেছ। যেহেতু অত্যন্ত সামান্য বিষয়ে তুমি বিশ্বস্ততার পরিচয় দিয়েছ, সেজন্য তুমি দশটি নগরের দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করো।’
18 The second came, saying, 'Your mina, lord, has made five minas.'
“দ্বিতীয়জন এসে বলল, ‘হুজুর, আপনার মুদ্রা দিয়ে আমি আরও পাঁচটি মুদ্রা অর্জন করেছি।’
19 The nobleman said to him, 'You take charge over five cities.'
“তার মনিব উত্তর দিলেন, ‘তুমি পাঁচটি নগরের দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করো।’
20 Another came, saying, 'Lord, here is your mina, which I kept safely in a cloth,
“তখন অন্য একজন দাস এসে বলল, ‘হুজুর, এই নিন আপনার মুদ্রা, আমি এটাকে কাপড়ে জড়িয়ে রেখে দিয়েছিলাম।
21 for I was afraid of you, because you are a demanding person. You take up what you did not put in, and you reap what you did not sow.'
আমি আপনাকে ভয় করেছিলাম, কারণ আপনি কঠোর প্রকৃতির মানুষ। আপনি যা রাখেননি, তাই নিয়ে নেন, যা বোনেননি, তাও কাটেন।’
22 The nobleman said to him, 'By your own words I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I am a demanding person, that I take up what I did not put in, and that I reaped what I did not sow.
“তার মনিব উত্তর দিলেন, ‘দুষ্ট দাস, তোমার নিজের কথা দিয়েই আমি তোমার বিচার করব! তুমি না জানতে, আমি কঠোর প্রকৃতির মানুষ, যা আমি রাখিনি, তা নিয়ে থাকি, আর যা বুনিনি, তা কেটে থাকি?
23 Then why did you not put my money in the bank, so that when I returned I would have collected it with interest?'
আমার অর্থ তুমি কেন মহাজনের কাছে রাখোনি, তাহলে ফিরে এসে আমি তা সুদসমেত আদায় করতে পারতাম?’
24 The nobleman said to them that stood by, 'Take away from him the mina, and give it to him that has the ten minas.'
“তারপর তিনি পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা সকলের উদ্দেশে বললেন, ‘ওর কাছ থেকে মুদ্রাটি নিয়ে নাও, আর যার দশটি মুদ্রা আছে, তাকে দাও।’
25 They said to him, 'Lord, he has ten minas.'
“তারা বলল, ‘মহাশয়, ওর তো দশটি মুদ্রা আছেই!’
26 'I say to you, that everyone who has will be given more, but from him that has not, even that which he has will be taken away.
“তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, ‘আমি তোমাদের বলছি, যার আছে, তাকে আরও বেশি দেওয়া হবে; কিন্তু যার কিছু নেই, তার যেটুকু আছে, তাও তার কাছ থেকে নিয়ে নেওয়া হবে।
27 But these enemies of mine, those who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and kill them before me.'”
আর যারা চায়নি যে, আমি তাদের উপরে রাজত্ব করি, আমার সেইসব শত্রুকে এখানে নিয়ে এসে আমার সামনে বধ করো।’”
28 When he had said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
এসব কথা বলার পর যীশু সামনে, জেরুশালেমের দিকে এগিয়ে চললেন।
29 It came about that when he came near to Bethphage and Bethany, to the hill that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples,
জলপাই পর্বত নামের পাহাড়ে, বেথফাগে ও বেথানি গ্রামের কাছে এসে তিনি তাঁর দুজন শিষ্যকে এই কথা বলে পাঠালেন,
30 saying, “Go into the next village. As you enter, you will find a colt that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it to me.
“তোমরা সামনের ওই গ্রামে যাও। সেখানে প্রবেশ করা মাত্র দেখতে পাবে যে একটি গর্দভশাবক বাঁধা আছে, যার উপরে কেউ কখনও বসেনি। সেটির বাঁধন খুলে এখানে নিয়ে এসো।
31 If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' say, 'The Lord has need of it.'”
কেউ যদি তোমাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করে, ‘এর বাঁধন খুলছ কেন?’ তাহলে তাকে বোলো, ‘এতে প্রভুর প্রয়োজন আছে।’”
32 Those who were sent went and found the colt just as Jesus had told them.
যাদের আগে পাঠানো হয়েছিল, তাঁরা গিয়ে যীশু যেমন বলেছিলেন, ঠিক তেমনই দেখতে পেলেন।
33 As they were untying the colt, the owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
তাঁরা যখন গর্দভ শাবকটির বাঁধন খুলছিলেন, শাবকটির মালিকেরা তাঁদের জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “তোমরা কেন এর বাঁধন খুলছ?”
34 They said, “The Lord has need of it.”
তাঁরা উত্তর দিলেন, “এতে প্রভুর প্রয়োজন আছে।”
35 They brought it to Jesus, and they threw their cloaks upon the colt and set Jesus on it.
তাঁরা শাবকটিকে যীশুর কাছে নিয়ে এসে তার উপর তাঁদের পোশাক বিছিয়ে দিলেন, আর তার উপর যীশুকে বসালেন।
36 As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road.
তাঁর যাওয়ার পথের উপর জনসাধারণ তাদের পোশাক বিছিয়ে দিতে লাগল।
37 As he was now approaching the place where the Mount of Olives descends, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,
পথ যেখানে জলপাই পর্বতের দিকে নেমে গেছে, যীশু সেখানে উপস্থিত হলে তাঁর সমস্ত শিষ্যদল, যীশুর মাধ্যমে যেসব অলৌকিক কাজ দেখেছিলেন, সেগুলিকে উল্লেখ করে উচ্চকণ্ঠে ঈশ্বরের মহিমাকীর্তন করে বলতে লাগলেন:
38 saying, “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
“ধন্য সেই রাজাধিরাজ, যিনি আসছেন প্রভুরই নামে।” “স্বর্গলোকে শান্তি, আর ঊর্ধ্বতমলোকে মহিমা হোক!”
39 Some of the Pharisees in the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”
লোকদের মধ্য থেকে কয়েকজন ফরিশী যীশুকে বলল, “গুরুমহাশয়, আপনার শিষ্যদের ধমক দিন!”
40 Jesus answered and said, “I tell you, if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”
তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, “আমি তোমাদের বলছি, ওরা যদি চুপ করে থাকে, তাহলে এই পাথরগুলি চিৎকার করে উঠবে।”
41 When Jesus approached the city, he wept over it,
জেরুশালেমের কাছাকাছি এসে নগরটিকে দেখে তিনি কেঁদে ফেললেন, আর বললেন,
42 saying, “If only you had known in this day, even you, the things which bring you peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.
“তুমি, শুধুমাত্র তুমি যদি জানতে, আজকের দিনে শান্তির জন্য তোমার কী প্রয়োজন! কিন্তু এখন তা তোমার দৃষ্টির অগোচর হয়ে রইল।
43 For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build a barricade around you, and surround you, and press in on you from every side.
তোমার উপরে এমন একদিন ঘনিয়ে আসবে, যেদিন তোমার শত্রুরা তোমার বিরুদ্ধে অবরোধের প্রাচীর তুলবে, তোমাকে বেষ্টন করে সবদিক থেকে তোমাকে ঘিরে ধরবে।
44 They will strike you down to the ground and your children with you. They will not leave one stone upon another, because you did not recognize it when God was trying to save you.”
তারা তোমাকে ও তোমার চার দেওয়ালের মধ্যবর্তী সন্তানদের ভূমিসাৎ করবে। তারা একটি পাথরের উপর অন্য পাথর রাখবে না। কারণ তোমার কাছে ঈশ্বরের আগমনকালকে তুমি চিনতে পারোনি।”
45 Jesus entered the temple and began to cast out those who were selling,
তারপর তিনি মন্দির-প্রাঙ্গণে প্রবেশ করে যারা বিক্রি করছিল তাদের তিনি তাড়িয়ে দিতে লাগলেন।
46 saying to them, “It is written, 'My house will be a house of prayer,' but you have made it a den of robbers.”
তিনি তাদের বললেন, “এরকম লেখা আছে, ‘আমার গৃহ হবে প্রার্থনার গৃহ,’ কিন্তু তোমরা একে দস্যুদের গহ্বরে পরিণত করেছ।”
47 So Jesus was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the leaders of the people wanted to kill him,
প্রতিদিন তিনি মন্দিরে শিক্ষা দিতেন। কিন্তু প্রধান যাজকেরা, শাস্ত্রবিদরা ও জননেতারা তাঁকে হত্যা করার চেষ্টা করছিল।
48 but they could not find a way to do it, because all the people were listening to him intently.
তবুও তা কাজে পরিণত করার পথ তারা খুঁজে পাচ্ছিল না, কারণ জনসাধারণ মুগ্ধ হয়ে তাঁর বাক্য শুনত।
