< Luke 14 >
1 It happened one Sabbath, when he went into the house of one of the leaders of the Pharisees to eat bread, that they were watching him closely.
Lwaliga luli lusiku lwa Isabhato, Yesu nagenda mumusi gwo omwi wa abhatangasha bha abhafarisayo okulya ebhilyo, nibhamukengelaga kwa ayeyi.
2 Behold, there in front of him was a man who was suffering from edema.
Imbele yaye aliga alio omunu nanyasibhwaga no obhufwimbe.
3 Jesus asked the experts in the Jewish law and the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?”
Yesu nabhusha abhamenyi bhe ebhilagilo bhye Echiyaudi na Abhafarisayo ati, “Ejibha munsonga okuosha omunu kulunaku lwa Isabhato?”
4 But they kept silent. So Jesus took hold of him, healed him, and sent him away.
Nawe nibhajibhila jibhi, kulwejo Yesu namugwata, namuosha nokumuyana omwanya agende eyo kaja.
5 He said to them, “Which of you who has a son or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day will not immediately pull him out?”
Omwene nabhabhwila ati, “Niga unu ali nomwana amo ing'a nilagala mwijibha olunaku lwa Isabhato nasiga okuikululamo bhwangu?”
6 They were not able to give an answer to these things.
Mbe abhenene bhatabheye na bhutulo obhwo kusubhya ingulu ye emisango ejo.
7 When Jesus noticed how those who were invited chose the seats of honor, he spoke a parable, saying to them,
Ejile Yesu amenya nkanikwo abhagenyi bhegegela ebhitebhe bhye echibhalo, nio nabhabhwila echijejekanyo chinu,
8 “When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in the place of honor, because someone may have been invited who is more honored than you.
“Omunu akakukoka mubhwenga, wasiga okwiyanja kulubhala lwa kuchitebhe chechibhalo, kulwokubha outula okusanga akokelwe omunu we echibhalo okukila awe.
9 When the person who invited both of you arrives, he will say to you, 'Give this other person your place,' and then in shame you will proceed to take the lowest place.
Mbe oyo abhakokele bhona bhabhili akakinga, nabhwila awe ati, 'tela omunu unu echitebhe chaye,' mbe nuwiswala nuwamba okugega omwanya gwa kubhumalisho
10 But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when the one who has invited you comes, he may say to you, 'Friend, go up higher.' Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at the table with you.
Nawe awe bhakakukoka, genda wiyanje olubhala lwa kubhumalisho, koleleki unu akukokele akaja, akubhwile ati, 'Musani, Libhata wiyanje imbele.' ao nio oubhona echibhalo imbele ya bhona bhanu bheyanjile amwi nawe kumeja.
11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Kulwa insonga unu ketula ingulu katelembushwa, na unu kekeya katulwa ingulu.”
12 Jesus also said to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or your rich neighbors, as they may also invite you in return, and you will be repaid.
Nio Yesu nabhwila unu amukokele ati, “Ukasosha ebhilyo bhya mumwisi amo ebhya kegolo, siga kukoka abhasani bhao amo abhaili bhao amo bhayala bhanyu amo abhakobhe bhao amo abhekashanya bhao abhalibhona, koleleki bhona bhakakukoka ubhone okuliwa.
13 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind,
Nawe ukakola obhugenyi, nukoke abhataka, abhalema, bhanu bhafuye amagulu na abhaume,
14 and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid in the resurrection of the just.”
awe ubhona amabhando. nolwo kutyo bhatakutula okukuliya, kulwokubha uliliwa kubhusuluko bhwa abhalengelesi.”
15 When one of them who sat at the table with Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is he who will eat bread in the kingdom of God!”
Oumwi mu bhanu bhaliga bheyanjile amwi na Yesu kumeja ejile ongwa ago, nabhwila Yesu ati, “Alibhona libhando unu alilya obhugenyi mu bhukama bhwa Nyamuanga.”
16 But Jesus said to him, “A certain man prepared a large dinner and invited many.
Nawe Yesu namubhwila ati, “Omunu numwi akolele obhugenyi bhunene, nakoka bhanu bhafu.
17 When the dinner was prepared, he sent his servant to say to those who were invited, 'Come, because everything is now ready.'
Bhwejile obhugenyi bhwamalilila, natuma omukosi waye owemilimu abhabhwile bhanu bhakokelwe, 'Mbe muje, kulwokubha bhuli chinu cha bheyewo.'
18 They all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please excuse me.'
Bhona, nibhamba okusabhwa echigongo. Owokwamba namubhwila omukosi ati, 'Namagula lisambu, nibhusibhusi nigende nijolilola. Mbe mfwila chigongo.'
19 Another said, 'I have bought five pairs of oxen, and I am going to try them out. Please excuse me.'
Oundi naika ati, 'Namamala okugula jing'a jokulimila olyanu nilimunjila yokuja ojilegeja. Mbe mfwila chigongo.'
20 Then another man said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.'
Omunu undi ona naika ati, 'Namamala okutwala omugasi, kulwejo nitakutula kuja.'
21 The servant came and told his master these things. Then the master of the house became angry and said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the town and bring in here the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.'
Omukosi nasubha nabhwila lata bhugenyi amagambo ago. Mbe kanya nyumba nabhiililwa abhwila omukosi waye ati,' Genda bhwangu munjila na munkondo ubhalete anu abhataka, abhalema, abhaume na bhanu bhafuye emibhili.”
22 The servant said, 'Master, what you commanded has been done, and yet there is still room.'
Omukosi waye naika ati, 'Lata bhugenyi, ago walagilila gakolekene, na olyanu guchalio omwanya.'
23 The master said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
Lata bhugenyi nabhwila omukosi ati, 'Genda kunjila inene nebhijila ebhitoto ubhasinyilishe abhanu bhengile, koleleki inyumba yani ijule.
24 For I say to you, none of those men who were invited will taste my dinner.'”
Kulwa insonga enibhabhwila, atalio na umwi unu aliloja obhugenyi bhwani kubhanu bhakokelwe kubhwambilo.'”
25 Now large crowds were going with him, and he turned and said to them,
Liijo lya abhanu bhafu lyaliga nililibhata amwi na Yesu, neya nalikebhukila nabhabhwila ati,
26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.
“Labha omunu kandubha anye na atalemele esemwene, nyilamwene, omugasi waye, abhana bhaye, abhaili bhaye abhechilume na abhechigasi-yee, nolwo obhulame bhwaye ona- omunu lwoyo atakutula okubha mwiigisibhwa wani.
27 Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.
Omunu akabhula okwitika omusalabha gwaye akansoka inyuma yani atakutula kubha mwiigisibhwa wani.
28 For which of you who desires to build a tower does not first sit down and count the cost to calculate if he has what he needs to complete it?
Mbe niga unu agati yemwe, unu kenda okumbaka echisonge atakwiyanja ansi okwamba akabhala jigarama ku bhukumi bhwaye, labha anabhyo bhinu kenda okukumisha emilimu jaye?
29 Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it will begin to mock him,
Akabhula okulola kutyo, akamala okutulao omusingi naigwa ukumala echisonge, bhona bhanu bhamulolele bhalimuseka,
30 saying, 'This man began to build and was not able to finish.'
nibhaika ati, 'Omunu unu ambile okumbaka atana managa go okumala obhumbaki.'
31 Or what king, as he goes to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and take advice about whether he is able with ten thousand men to fight the other king who comes against him with twenty thousand men?
Amo ni mukama ki, unu kenda okuja okulwana obhulemo no omukama oundi, ateyanjile ansi okwamba nabhusilisha ingulu yokumenya ati katula, nolwo ali na abhasilikale bhiumbi ekumi abhokulwana no obhukama bhundi, bhunu bhumwimukiye bhuli na abhanu bhiumbi makumi gabhili?
32 If not, while the other army is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks for conditions of peace.
Labha jitali kutyo, echise cha abhandi bhaliya bhachali kula, mbe atume omukongya bhateo obhungwani bhwo omulembe.
33 So therefore, any one of you who does not give up all that he has cannot be my disciple.
Mbe kulwejo, wonawona kwimwe oyo atasigile bhyona bhinu alinabhyo, atakutula kubha mwiigisibhwa wani.
34 Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its taste, how can it be made salty again?
Omunyu nigwakisi, nawe omunyu gukabhula omwaya gwago, ejibha kutiki ukukingila gusubhe gubhe munyu lindi?
35 It is of no use for the soil or even for the manure pile. It is thrown away. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Gutakusubha kukola mulimu mumayalu amo nolwo mumboleya; ogulaswa kula. Unu ali na amatwi go kungwa, mbe nongwe.”
